I recently stayed at The River Inn in Washington, D.C. for two nights, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed and valued.

The room I stayed in was impeccably clean and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's location. Nestled in a charming neighborhood, it was conveniently close to major attractions and the Metro.

The River Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Washington, D.C. and looking for a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city!

This may be the most hospitable front desk staff ever! We checked in without incident and truly felt welcomed. Throughout our stay, our questions and requests were promptly addressed and always by a team member who was truly engaged. The room is spacious with a kitchenette that is tucked behind the main room - great design. Easy walking distance to Georgetown.

Was ideal for my long weekend in DC. I came here by myself (woman) for my college reunion weekend. Loved being in a quiet neighborhood in Foggy Bottom close to everything . I bought breakfast items at Whole Foods down the street and took advantage of little kitchen. I also loved being able to walk to Georgetown and to take the nearby 30# buses to meet up with friends (($2 exact change per bus ride) and also took the metro back to DCA airport ($2.55 + $2 for the metro card and paid with my cc at Foggy Bottom station - an app also exists). I walked back alone from Georgetown late one evening and no one bothered me + beautiful walk. Anyway, went smoothly and traveling alone /meeting up with friends in different parts of DC was super easy and enjoyable from here.

This was a gift from my nephew and the location was superb. I felt safe and there was a lot to see. Our view was awesome and the Staff was Phenomenal. Brandie and Ronald were magnificent. Brandie made sure accommodations were fine and Ronald was pleasant and asked how the stay was. The room was clean and comfortable. I will come back again and kudos to you all for hiring such awesome staff !!!

This hotel is awesome. It’s located in the quiet, charming neighbourhood of Foggy Bottom but it’s so close to places like Georgetown and the Foggy Botton metro station. If I ever return to DC I’ll be staying here.

Located in Beautiful Foggy bottom this "2nd home" hotel is a gem. The staff is absolutely amazing ( friendly, courteous and informative regarding tourism). The rooms are clean and spacious with a large full kitchen. Trader Joe's and Whole foods are within walking distance and there are myriad food options in the area. The Metro and Kennedy center are only a 5 minute walk; however, the National mall is closer to a 30 minute trek depending on walking speed. Upon my return to DC, this will be my first choice!

Had a great four night stay here. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient: an attractive, quiet street; a short walk to the Metro and to some restaurants; and also walkable to Georgetown. And while we didn't have our dogs with us, it was nice to see other dogs, as it is a very pet friendly hotel. A great value.

Everything was perfect. The room has a little kitchen with all essential things to cook if you need. They don’t charge extra for the pets and even gave treats and in the room there were bowls for my dog 🥹 you can park your car for free down the street on weekends

I am so glad we found The River Inn for our stay in Washington D.C.! Its location in Foggy Bottom is a very nice area and conveniently about a 5 minute walk from the Metro station. The staff was extremely welcoming and very polite. They happily took care of our needs and ensured we had a pleasant stay. Compared to other hotels in the area, you won’t find a better place to stay anywhere close to the affordability of The River Inn!

The River Inn was a pleasant surprise; I booked a last-minute deal on Expedia. The location is excellent, and you can walk to many cafes and restaurants nearby. I loved that it was in a very charming neighborhood instead of a busy commercial location. I look forward to booking here again when I visit DC next time."

Rooms are fine. Location is great, but service is amazing! I wish I could remember the name of the bellhop/porter who helped me. For this reason, I’d 100% recommend this place.

My daughter vomited all over the backseat of our Uber right before arrival at the Inn. I felt awful about it, but more worried about my daughter. The bellhop/porter of the Inn opened my Uber door, saw the mess, and heard my driver getting onto me about how I ruined his day. He immediately came to my defense, and I couldn’t have been more grateful. Thank you!

I really enjoyed my stay..I was performing at the Kennedy Center Honors for Queen Latifah & Renée Fleming and I'm so happy the selected this hotel for me. I felt right at home. Pet friendly; nice and quiet. I missed my cat. The front desk staff was so nice. I would definitely go back and Trader Joe's is near.

Spent a fall weekend in the District of Columbia at this charming hotel. We arrived well before check-in, and the front desk was very accommodating and I had our room ready for us. The room was in immaculate condition as well as the lobby. We were busy in the city and didn’t get to spend too much time in the hotel, but everything was top rate. The front desk staff as well. Checking in and checking us out. Highly recommended.

Home away from home!
The staff were very friendly and genuine.
The hotel is on a tree lined street in the foggy bottom section of DC.
We felt safe walking to areas surrounding the hotel..Starbucks and Trader Joe's is 2 blocks away.
The Queen suite was large, and has a kitchenette which is well supplied; full size frig, stove top, toaster, Keurig coffee maker.

The furnishings was in modern style. The sofa a little small, two seater, fabric. Place very clean! I am a nurse, bring my own wipes.....wipe down items, and clean.
The bathroom has marble floors and tiling in tub, rain head shower. Water heats quickly. The bed was very complex, firm. Egyptian type duvet and sheets, fluffy pillows. Wood vinyl flooring with area rug, we stayed in a designated pet friendly room. We will definitely stay here again, good value for the money. Uber access to monumental parks $10, museums 8-10$ We parked our car, not worrying about finding parking for sites. Parking $55/night, comps for elevator issue. Flooded by guest on higher floor, staff accommodation for this. We will stay again Thank you Ronald, Andrea at front desk!

Another beautiful stay with this Modus location tucked away in the cozy Foggy Bottom neighbord of Washington, D.C. The River Inn is our home away from home and has been included as a must-stay for many of our family celebrations in and casual visits to the nation's capital. Prime location that is in walking distance of the Foggy Bottom metro station, GW University, and the one of the most premier shopping and dining suburbs in DC, Georgetown. In the hustle and bustle of one of America's busiest cities, it is a quaint oasis of quiet and relaxation.

Beautiful accommodations, in-house bar/restaurant, unmatched city views on the upper floors and suites (very spacious) especially, and impeccable service all around. Thank you to everyone including Guest Relations Manager Brandie Davis for the red carpet welcome and special touches that always make our stay unforgettable. Many thanks...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
