Hopewell Convalescent Center

Things aren't perfect but, considering what the health professionals there have to handle and deal with, it's a necessary situation for a lot of people. I've been there many times and found everyone helpful and friendly. I've been to fancier centers but , when you get down to it, they're much the same. They welcome me and are very responsive on every visit. Thank goodness we have people there who do their jobs and show up every day.

My experience with the Hopewell Healthcare Center, have for the most part been a pleasant experience. My incapacitated family member, for which I am the Guardian, arrived at the facility in April of 2019. Since being in the facility, she have progressed greatly. The environment in the facility coupled with her being close to me and my family have prompted a bright spark in her eyes, and in general, she are happier.

My initial point of contact with the Hopewell Health Care Center was with Mrs. Whitney Denefield. Mrs. Denefield have continued to be a joy to work with. She are to be commended for her initiative, eagerness, and proficiency in assisting, my family with the placement and the transfer of my incapacitated family member from the state of New York.

There are two nurses assistant, who provide care for my family member, that must be recognized as well and especially Miss. Hughes. I have had one incident involving the posting of my required payment that are disturbing to me. My payment was submitted on August 31, 2019, and was due on September 1, 2019. However, I was charged with having a delinquent payment obligation, due to no fault of mine. In spite of my account having been paid early, it was not posted until September 18, 2019.

Overall, my family and I are satisfied with the care that our family member are receiving. The facility are also, convenient due to being located only twelve (12) miles from our residence.

The ONLY reason it has a star at all is to allow me to make a comment on here.
My mother was at this facility for less than five hours on Friday, July 5, 2019 for a respite visit. My sister went to visit her about 4PM on that evening. She had not been laid down at all to rest since her arrival. She was taken to the bathroom once. Her aide brought her out of the bathroom and pushed her in a corner facing the wall. That is where she was found upon my sister's arrival. There are no televisions at all in the home. I don't understand what the residents are expected to do with their time. The inmates have more in jail/prison than these elderly residents that give all their income for their keep.
We brought my mother home right away. When arriving home, we took her to the bathroom and her pullup wasn't even pulled up. Just what exactly did the staff do there??? What do the poor elderly people do there??? What is the matter with this system when laws are passed for everything else under the sun but we allow our loved ones.....our parents to be treated less than human????
NEVER.....NEVER if you can by God's Grace, NEVER put anyone you know in this facility!!!!!

If I could give this place less, I would. I had the displeasure of working here for three months and in that three months I was harassed by the D.O.N. and the nursing staff, my belonging were stolen and they could never get direct deposit tip work even with the HR people talking to my bank. That's just my work experience, the residents are living in a roach and bed bug infested facility but the administration and don will not do anything about it. My advice don't work here and don't send your relatives there either.

This facility needs to be shut down. No ice for patients, no air circulation, it’s 83 degrees today and we’re told the AC isn’t used until the summer months, it reeks of body waste, patients are not allowed to leave their rooms to go to a day room, staff is rude and uncaring, everything is old and run down, the equipment and beds looks soiled. If there was a way to give it negative stars then I would have, leaving this review is the closest I could come to that.

This is the second time i ran out of my meds. Cant never get through to the front desk. Nurses never call you back. They had me fill out a form with my current number and address 5 times and they keep calling my old number. Dr Raza is excellecent but the clinic is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL at the Martin Luther King Office. What a joke

It only got one star bc it wouldn't let me go any less. Rundown and trashy. Wouldn't let my dog stay there! They have and do the absolute bare minimum if even that much!!!

I will never work here again and I'm not even working for them I'm working with a nother company this lpn thought I was a child tonight that she had look behind me but I'm not it won't happen again that's why they don't have anyone there working now lol

Worked here for a very brief time. Place stinks, no teamwork, ALWAYS short staffed!! AND they have ROACHES!!😨 I absolutely wouldn't recommend this place to work!! Or live!!!!

Went to this place when my father was there for rehab. Horrible place, wreaked of urine, unprofessional staff and admin. Go somewhere better.

If I had an elderly relative that just couldn't take care of themselves anymore, it would be kinder to tie them to a tree then leave them in this hellhole.

They torture and kill people here by careless, uneducated and unprofessional behavior. Do not admit anyone here.
