Excellent tour! You can hear the story of the fort told by individuals that have taken the time to research about this historic site. The historians are dressed for the part and they take you back in time as you walk around the fort. The replicas are amazing and they still have live animals on the site. If you are a history buff, I highly recommend.

I went in early February, but it was still some very pretty scenery with a nice maintained trail. There are a lot of docks that go out on the water with benches for sitting. I'm not sure if camping is allowed, but there are plenty of good places for it. There are several benchs and gazebos along the trail for resting/eating. The total trail loop is about 5 miles long. Overall, I was very impressed and plan to visit again when everything turns green.

My family was here on a Monday, and we were the only people here. The staff is great they answered all of the kids' questions, and you are welcome to touch all of the stuff. It's a living history or a step back in time. It's a great place to take the kids to see history.

We visited for Homeschool Day(s) and had a wonderful experience. My son is 5.25, and he stayed engaged and attentive. The staff did a remarkable job. Shout out to Christey who handled the paper making process with the Littles, letting everyone participate. We also got to learn about trade between the Indigenous and Europeans. We, unfortunately, had to leave early because I had a meeting, but we are excited to return!

Amazing place! The interpreters were fantastic. They spent as much time as they were able having discussions with my cousins and me. They are so knowledgeable and we learned so much. The gift shop lady was very helpful also. Good job to all!

We really enjoyed walking through the 1600s buildings and learning about the early history from a period dressed host. There was a different historically dressed host at each stop. It was nice to see what the actual town and buildings would have looked like during this time period. Excellent walk down history.

This was our best experience so far with a living history site. The actors were very knowledgeable and articulate in their accounting of what happened here. It's not a big place, yet we spent hours exploring and listening to stories about the village. I highly recommend it.

This is an extremely underrated historical site. There is a whole reconstruction of the original colonial village that was there. It's absolutely beautiful, on the way in there's also a floating dock that has a canoe/kayak put in. It's definitely one of the best and most accessible parks in Chester!

Went for the Hops In The Park. Very enjoyable! The village is larger than I expected and the little houses are so neat! Nice easy walk through the village and outside of the village there is a beautiful view of the James River! Hops in the Park was lovely. Great beer selection. Only a few food trucks and venders but it was enough to get something hot and delicious to go with our beer!

I love this place. I am a reenactor, so I probably appreciate it more than most people. That being said, the reenactors that work here are outstanding people, and love what they do. They are VERY knowledgeable and personable. You really feel like you're back in the era that they are portraying. So if you're a history nerd like me, you'll be in heaven. There are very few places I give 5 stars, this is one.

Loved it!! Please visit! We must do our part to keep these places open. They are doing ALL THEY CAN TO BE SAFE! Students "are" their main source of income and we all know what's going on today. Take your children today and make that the Math (the timeline), Social Studies (the history), Language Arts (the vocabulary, stories, and leyends), Science (their housing, weapons..) Physical Education (the walk)and Arts and Crafts lesson of the day (so many cool easy to do stuff in the Gift Shop)! So much to see! So much to learn through this live museum!

Usually I visit to walk or ride the trails. Always a good time and I try to picnic on the bluff with awesome views of the river.

Absolutely love this place! My daughter and I go here all the time and we learn something new every time! It’s a living historical park that educates visitors of specific time periods of the area, to include John Smith and Pocahontas. You walk through three different settlements where actors donned in time period clothing tell you all about the historical significance of the area, daily life, how to’s, and even have live demonstrations. It’s a beautiful park to spend a lazy afternoon in, take part in cultural enrichment events and it’s open year round!

Beautiful place to relive history. Very knowledgeable volunteers reenacting our past and teaching us a day in the lives of what the soldiers went through. Excellent place to explore.

Thank you for inviting the vendors to the park. My wife and I had a great time. We loved that all the different merchants showed up.

This is by far the best educational/living history park I've been too. Most living history centers ha e you wonder around aimlessly, and if you think of something to ask a historian, they'll tell you. At Henricus, they tell you were to start and then your sent to next location. At each location a historian tells you the significance of that building/location and what would have occurred. I learned more in that 1 visit than the 4 other historical sites we stopped at combined!

Henricus Historical Park is a truly wonderful place where you can immersively experience and learn the history of the American Revolution and the Civil War. It's a great place to bring family and friends!

I visited Henricus Park for the annual event of the Reenactment of the American Revolution battles. The event was superbly organized. The actors were so passionate about the history --- they were able to tell anything and everything in much detail about the 18th century in America.

In addition to the actors, you will also see 18th and 19th century-looking buildings. There is also live stock such as hens, pigs and goats.

There were clean bathroom facilities. Though there is no paved path, the place is generally accessible for the people with disabilities.

I wish they had food trucks for lunch for such big events like the reenactment of the American Revolution battles. I would have spent the entire day there, but had to leave because my hunger levels were quite high!

I ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone who lives in or visits Virginia. Henricus Historical Park should be on everyone's must-see must-do list!

This little historic site close to Fort Lee was quite the hidden treasure. It is so well maintained and the organizers did a great job in explaining all the historic details of the colonial past of that region. Never would have even imagined a place like this existed.
