I had a TAVR, March 13, and want to thank my two outstanding nurses. Octavia and Mark. They were so wonderful to me, with constant care. They took such good care of me. Ascension should be proud to have them on your staff. And any patient that is lucky enough to have them care for them, will be in the best hands . I cannot thank them enough

I don't know what's up with the bad rating and reviews, but I love this hospital! Super clean, staff were so nice and doctors are awesome. Maybe the bad review ones are just being super picky. Maybe OCD. No idea!

I like the fact that they're all so sincere, not actually just give you meds without asking, but actually explaining it, showing how it works and such stuff.

I was very very impressed with the service at this hospital. I came into the ER and was seen in a reasonable amount of time. And then it just got better. Once I was in, the individual attention and care was excellent. I then moved to the ICU. I was cared for by Amanda and Katie (among others, they are the only names I remember) they were very efficient and helpful and knowledgeable and kind. The doctors were also excellent. I could go on, but of my many many hospital visits unfortunately, this might have been the best.

I was hospitalized here in July 2022 because of a post-surgery fever of 104. Because of my condition, I only had to wait about 15 minutes before a nurse pulled me back, said she had spoken with my doctor, and started getting me care right away. They were very attentive and caring and did all the necessary checks. My doctor wanted me to stay overnight for monitoring, and at first they told me I was going to have to stay overnight in the ER due to staffing shortages upstairs. But by 6:30 pm, they were taking me upstairs to my own room. It was SO nice to be out of the ER and to have peace, quiet, and a private bathroom. I felt that I got incredible care both in the ER and upstairs. And I really appreciated that they were able to let me stay upstairs despite staffing shortages (on 4th of July weekend). I felt safe and cared for the entire time. Thank you, Colombia St. Mary's.

This hospital has amazed me once again!! 2 months I had my baby boy here and they were all super attentive, super sweet and caring. From the doctor, to the nurses, to housekeeping and to the kitchen staff. Everyone was super professional and just amazing. This was my second baby, I had my first I had him at a different hospital and I wish I would’ve made it to St Marys. My whole labor and delivery was very smooth thanks to the whole team. They weren’t just a team, they worked as a team.
2 months after having my baby I had to return, due to different circumstances of a friend not doing so well. This last week I visited my friend and I had a million questions and every nurse and doctor were very friendly, caring and attentive and answered all my questions. McKenzie sadly called me last night with the news that my friend had passed. McKenzie asked me if I would like to go say my goodbyes, but told her I had already did that yesterday morning. She said she wanted to make sure.
I truly highly recommend this hospital. It’s the best all the way around.

I recently had a different review up for St Mary's Ascension. Every time I read it I felt horrible because it was written during a time of duress as my mother was passing from cancer. The truth is my mother loved it there and had been there quite a few times during her bout with cancer & the Doctors & Nurses gave my mom the best care possible. Everybody down to the cleaning crew were friendly and helpful. We all know that a lot of places are short-handed including hospitals. I will say out of the many people I've watched die of cancer, hers was peaceful and we didn't notice her in much pain. St Mary's Ascension Columbia is a great hospital and I would be lucky to go there in any health crisis.
P.S. don't write reviews of any place right after a death or while you're angry.

Recently I had a visit to the ER due to elevated liver enzymes. I was extremely nauseous and couldn’t eat or even work for 2 weeks. While the wait in the ER Was long I’m glad I was seen the nurses were super nice and caring. I also got my gallbladder removed and a huge gallbladder stone removed and the nurses comforted me the whole time. They gave me water when I was thirsty took me to the bathroom when I needed help and I couldn’t be more grateful for all of them

I had a successful VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 c-sections) here in 2021 delivered by the AMAZING Dr. Sheldon Wasserman, and the entire staff was incredible! Nurse Brittany stayed with me almost the entire time as I labored without an epidural for almost the entire birth. She supported all of my decisions and was so quick to help me at every stage of labor. From the moment I walked in the staff was so excited to support me in my desire to have a VBAC and they never questioned me or made me feel worried or scared about my decision. The entire time I was in labor they were excited and encouraging and helpful and kind.

I have also never experienced such good explanation of procedures before. Before every single exam or check-up, they asked for my consent (something I never experienced during my two previous births at other hospitals). The respect that they treated me with was incredible. My recovery there post birth was also wonderful with very helpful lactation consultants, nurses, and staff. I am so happy that I was able to have my fourth baby at this hospital!

I awoke in the Neurological center to meet to the finest care one could imagine. I learned I had been in Columbia St Mary's care for over a week & this was my 3rd hospital!! When discharged 3 weeks later I felt as if I was leaving family. The wonderful care givers of all departments gave me caring wishes & hugs, encouraging me that I would be fully recovered & returning to work in a year! I was sure the care at my local Medical Clinic & Physicians would be even better :) OH MY! I never experienced life as a Dependent before -- I experienced why people who are dependent upon Medical care are depressed &/or crabby! I had a suspended drivers license which prevented my preference to continue further needed care in Milwaukee! In my local area I sought & changed Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist & should have changed Neurologist immediately as well...It has been over 2 years since I woke in Columbia St Mary's which could be remembered as awaking from a dream--but! That was the best part of the journey of recovery! The care I received at Columbia St Mary's Neurological dept, compared to other facilities, is an awakening to which are Professionals in a career for income, versus care with compassion. Excellent care with compassion & encouragement to assist recovery! Thank you for the Get Well Card as well Wonderful Nurses! God Bless you all :)

I recently spent 6 days in the hospital and four weeks of outpatient treatment. I am an employer, and I would instantly hire virtually any person who treated me during this time. The doctors were professional and understanding and generous with their time. The nurses were nothing short of phenomenal. They treated me, and their treatment of me, not as a job but as a profession, a calling. An unqualified A plus.

My daughter was admitted in the burn unit of the hospital. Doctor Meyer and the dermatologists there are very knowlegable and kind. They save my daughter's life. Thanks very much for their help. All the staffs and the nurses are so nice are helpful. They take very good care of my daughter. Say thanks to the case worker, Sarah. She seeks financial assistant for my daughter and help me to solve a lot of problems. Thanks again to the staffs in burn unit.

The doctors and nurses at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Milwaukee provided the best medical services for my grandmother when she suffered a stroke. With a successful surgery they cared, and looked after her everyday to make sure that her body is functioning normally. Physical and occupational therapists came in everyday to get her up and moving as much as she could. I came in with her on the first day and her left side was completely paralyzed. Now, even though it is weak she is able to stand up and walk with some help. Our family is happy with Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Milwaukee and hopeful that with long hours of practice she will be active again. Thank you!

Labor and delivery unit was amazing. They were on top of everything. My wife had to have an emergency delivery. Everyone worked together amazingly. They made us feel at ease in a difficult situation. Everyone did a great job from the time we came in till we were discharged a few days later. Thank you all so much.

I fell hard while running at night and my right knee took the brunt of the fall. It was late so prompt care wasn't open, but Ascension was, and it was located near where I was staying. Uber got me there in a snap. I was also a little inebriated, but the ER receptionist treated me with respect and I was able to get in quickly, the doctor diagnosed me with a moderate sprain, got me what I needed. I Ubered back to the hotel. It was a good experience as far as ERs go and took less than 45 minutes from intake to release.

My Mother came in unresponsive and is in her late 60's. She has been in good shape but was found snoring and not responding. From the emergency room they did great. Good nurses in the emergency room unit always updating us and showing geniuine concern. Great nurses in the e.r!
She was moved to the icu where the doctors let us know the best thing was to keep her stable and doing all text to make sure it wasnt anything underlying. They had extreme patience and all the nurses were great and the dr.s were real informative and knew what they were doing in this case. Even though me and my family was trying to put our opinions in,they listened with patience and care for her like a professional staff. Especially Kathy and her nurses that workes with her. Great Spirit! They got her stable, still waited out extra day with rest and got her out in great Condition. 5star keep up the Good work!!
