Hopewell City Park

Sometimes just like to go out here and clear my head.... It is a very picturesque place to relax and enjoy the peace.

Still pretty new, fresh, and for the most part clean. It's not immaculately clean but that's really hard to do for a park with a 2 tier play area and solid river walk. We got to see the helicopter land and some nature that was thriving! Well done in general.

Kids enjoy this location when we visit our son at Fort Lee. Only have portapotties. No drinking water or rinse areas. Bring your own chair if you want to enjoy the water front view they.have 2 benches by the water.

My children absolutely love this park, the playground, river-walk, and beach area are so very cool!

One thing about this park, is that the road to get down to it is dirt, and gravel, and there is a large hill that you have to traverse. So if you are particular about your car being clean, or if its a sports car, or if its low to the ground, it may not be a good idea.

This is such a nice park! The playground is very nice and the water is very relaxing! I love how it is paved, it makes easy access for those who are disabled. I love the picnic area and how you can see the water from where you eat. Over all a wonderful experience, I can't wait to see it finisbed.

My granddaughter and I loved this place it is well maintained with plenty of places to sit if you need to there is a small beach, playground and riverside walk that is handicap accessible!!

Gorgeous! I was visiting nearby and came down to enjoy some nature. Small playground for the kids, you can swim (at your own risk) and the river walk is is just gorgeous. A crane flew so close it almost touched my head. Saw a few turtles and fish. The perfect place for a stroll at sunset. If I lived nearby I'd be here all the time. Stop if you're around!

This is always a good place to go to clear your head, just to walk or to just be with family and friends. Always has a nice view, which is amazing . Fun place to go by yourself or if you have kids.

Great place for young kids. Small playground but lots of natural area to explore. Lots of glass on the beach so be sure to wear shoes. The boardwalk is long and has no outlets so a great place to wear out little feet. Note that the park seems to be 420 friendly in case that is either a pro or a con for you!

The park should be done in the fall! Great nature playground and potential kayak launch in the works. Very fun, on the river and close to downtown Hopewell fun!

Awesome little walk with great scenery and some play areas for the kids. Benches and a pier definitely a cool spot

Went with the grandkids to very fun Paddle in Your Park event by RVA Paddlesports. Nice little park on the Appomattox River.

Hidden treasure. I recommend that you bring bug repellent so that you may enjoy the scenery. This place is perfect for taking photos.

Great place to get out and take a walk and there is a mini beach as well.

Very small beach, but just wonderful. The Riverwalk here is very nice.

a very nice scenic walk along the waterfront. However, no bathroom and watch out for snakes.

This place is truely a treasure in downtown Hopewell. My children adore this park. The way it incorporates nature into the design of the park is amazing. The river view is amazing and it is a wonderful place to take photos. This is truely a great park for people of all ages.
