Shindig Uptown Bistro + Catering

Best quality ingredients and ambiance in town!!! I love that they open up the whole front of the restaurant because it feels like you are eating outside with the Uptown life around you, but the comfort of being indoors. It brings me back to our trip to Italy where most restaurants have outdoor seating. There are only three restaurants in town that serve high quality ingredients: Shindig, Wild Magnolia, and Third Bay Cafe. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for?

This is a great spot in uptown Martinsville Virginia. The food has been delicious on the two occasions I've visited, and the service was friendly. My first visit, I had the peanut butter bacon burger with house made chips. The chips and ranch were tasty, and the double duet of sweet and savory from both the peanut butter and the applewood smoked bacon was on point. On my second trip, I went with the Gatsby arrow, a croissant with roast beef, brie, pickled red onions, and Dijon mustard. The Brie and mustard and onions work together wonderfully, providing a delicious harmony of flavors over the baseline of the roast beef and buttery croissant.

I'd offer only two mild criticisms; service was not slow, but if you're in a rush at lunch, you might be slightly pressed for time, and that the more expensive sandwiches and a beverage and a reasonable tip put you at shouting distance from 20 bucks for lunch, which might be a bit steep for some.

Great burger wonderful setting could use some background music noise as it's a little echoing with just a few talking. Our host server was the only one working but no wait she was on the ball. We left our leftovers sadly. Great food quality was top notch. I sure hope locals support this place it's great to have life in uptown areas that are supporting the area like they do. We are from Augusta GA and our downtown is slowly becoming what it once was. It starts with a great restaurant like this!

Great atmosphere. Service was friendly and kept our group topped up. Food was fantastic and appealed to a wide range of palettes from adventurous to conservative. Overall a pleasant experience and one that I would recommend.

Perfect atmosphere for my best friend's 40th birthday celebration! Chasity was beyond helpful to make it perfect. The entire staff was wonderful!! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to celebrate or just grab a meal.

I must usually somehow always go to Shindigs during the week because I stopped in this Saturday to get either their blackened salmon or creamed chicken with capers ( I was trying to talk myself into something healthy) when I discovered that they do breakfast items all day (well, 11 to 5) on Saturdays. The assistant manager recommended the french toast and it was truly decadent. So much for healthy but I have no regrets.

Wow! Amazing food, great service, fast WiFi! Definitely worth the stop.

A cute hidden gem in Martinsville. I wish I could give them 10 stars instead of 5. Everything was lovely. Very nice servers, delicious food, wonderful cocktails, and a Blondie dessert I'd crawl through glass for. For reference, I had the turkey cheeseburger and my husband had a steak cooked rare... And the steak was cooked perfectly, with a rare center and a crispy char. I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience, so do yourself a favor and go support this place!!!!

Loved the service and the food was delicious. We were a group of 8. I pre-ordered. The food came out soon after we arrived and got our drinks. The service person came to check on us at just the right times without been intrusive nor dismissive which is some of the encounters I've had in other restaurants. I would definitely recommend you done there. Both lunch and dinner menus are great.

I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the owner and staff of Shindig Uptown Bistro. We had a birthday party there tonight and while they were short staffed, the service was amazing! The servers were second to none and worked there butts off to make sure everything was taken care of for each person. The owner went above and beyond to make our party over the top and accommodated everything we ask. They will definitely be getting a lot of business from our family and friends and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did to make our evening special for our loved one!

I give this restaurant a 5 Star rating for accommodations, food, pleasant atmosphere and the smiles on those girls faces all night even when I know they had to be overwhelmed. You guys are AWESOME!!

This restaurant has improved exponentially. The menu rocks, I highly suggest the preserves and Brie appetizer. They have good fries and burgers. The folks I went with loved the pizzas and Chicken dishes! If you have gone here previously and had a bad experience, I highly suggest trying it again.

Great atmosphere. Need a latte, burger, Ruben, or chicken sandwich this is the place. With the move and change of venue they now serve dinner. This is my favorite spot for lunch and the new look and feel is amazing. Music in the background and they serve liquor as well. The most excellent menu and great prices.

A group of three of us, I’m visiting from Florida and my married friends went to try out Shindig’s. The craft beer selection was fantastic, the hot crab dip was very good that we had as an appetizer. I had the shrimp trio which was incredible, one had the chicken Alfredo and the other ordered the blackened salmon salad and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they had. The ambiance was perfect and will be back as often as possible!

Love eating here when I am in town to visit family. I use to work at this location when it was the original daily grind. A few of my girlfriends and I were here about a month ago and they were wonderful to us! They listened to us as we reminisced about working there. We made ourselves at home and they welcomed us with open arms! The food, coffee, and service is beyond amazing! Thank you to the owners for bringing this place to Martinsville and to the employees for your excellent service! Recommend this place 100%!

This place was very clean, customer service was Awesome. The food was delicious. They have a roll up door and it is totally awesome. Food was good, prices were good. I highly recommend Shindig Uptown Bristro

WOW!!! I am beyond delighted that my co-worker shared this GEM with me. The atmosphere is so amazing. It reminds you of a nice casual but chic bistro that would be located in a major metropolitan area.
If the atmosphere was not enough, the food was beyond amazing. I had the 1/2 Grilled Chicken Salad, and 1/2 Tomato Basil soup. I do not mind paying for great quality. The Salad was so fresh you would've thought they had just hand picked the vegetables. I will certainly make this a popular lunch spot as long as I am employed in the Martinsville area.

Food is AWESOME, highly recommended for a great lunch or dinner. We had the cuban and the turkey bacon with brie, both delicious. The service is great and the coffee of course was good. Definitely a good decision to stop here. If we get to Martinsville again, we will absolutely return.

I just had a business lunch at Shindig. We were all very pleased and impressed with this new restaurant. The food and service was great. We had a seating area away from the other patrons and were able to have our business discussion with ease and privacy. Very nice place. I will come again. Highly recommended!
