Railway Café

The food was delicious! You can tell they put love in every dish! This was my family's first time, and we will definitely be back! We enjoyed nachos, chicken barbecue, hamburger steak, and a club sandwich. They do have limited seating, but it's so worth it!

Nice little spot. Thank you, Google. I had a very good lunch outside on the patio. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich with fries. The house seasoning was very good. The food and atmosphere were great. The bathroom was spotless. I would recommend.

All the staff are super nice. They go out of there way to make customers feel welcome and appreciated.
Davis Scott is particularly helpful, kind, and pleasant, checking to make sure everything is fine & if you need anything. It's always a pleasure to dine at the Railway Cafe. I highly recommend it.

The Manager and staff was extremely friendly. The cheeseburgers and fries were fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a great homestyle fresh burger and fries Railway Cafe is the place. I can't wait to try their other food items, I strongly recommend!

What a gem. Food is fresh, homemade sauces, quick service and the prices are great.

Southwest salad was perfect. Homemade chili and slaw for the hotdogs and fresh cut fries. Can't wait to try more on the menu.

Very surprised!!!! I never usually come to Basset but we decided to make a trip out here and I don’t regret it! I decided to get the 3 chicken tenders and French Fries and they did NOT disappoint! It was around 7$ for that meal so pretty affordable 👍🏼 Chicken was nice, juicy, and overall had a good flavor, and the Fries were salty and not soggy! Very good!

Figured me and my wife try this place this morning was amazed on how good the food was. So much so we came back for dinner tonight and again it was amazing great food great customer service. Great environment to sip on coffee eat good food. Support local business I would rather spend money in local business rather big chain restaurants.

I order lunch here very often and so do my coworkers. The food is always on point! And you could not ask for a better group of people to work there and run the business! They all are always so kind to everyone and very patient! They work hard and seem to all work very well together! They are fast, friendly and eager to please! It’s a very comfortable environment and it’s heart warming when you walk in after being a customer for a while and they know you by name and go ahead and grab your order for you when you come to pick it up!

They support the community of Bassett in many ways, and they are such an amazing addition to the area! I always get the chicken strips and fries but that’s because it is my absolute favorite dish because I always tell everyone. If you can’t make a simple chicken strip you won’t do well in the industry….but they cook them PERFECT every single time! I have tried their other foods and it was very delicious as well! The street corn is to die for!! I wish this business nothing but the best and if you’re a future customer reading this review right now just trying to find somewhere to eat, choose Railway, I promise you will NOT regret it!

Checked google maps after having our car serviced for a breakfast option. Railway came up 2 miles away and we gave them a shot. So glad we did. Clean, easy going feel to the cafe and our food was fantastic.Caramel coffee was A+. Don't let the small size fool you, place is big on options. We'll be back. Thanks to the attentive staff too.

I am so happy we have the Railway Cafe in Bassett. I have gone here since it opened and the staff and owner are wonderful.

The food is delicious with generous portions. Items are added to the menu, which I like. A friend from Sweden went with me for several meals because she loved their food so much.

Parking is plentiful and they had prepared their sheltered outdoor seating for winter.

I have known about this place for some time, but haven't been until a friend insisted I must go. The only regret I have is that we didn't go sooner! We got lunch - and it was delicious - their sauces were talked up so much - I bought a bottle of Ranch before I even tried it. And the grilled chicken sandwich I got was on special that day and came with macaroni salad - now I want to see if I can order just a big helping of their macaroni salad. We will definitely be back to try more!! Did not disappoint.

Offers tasty fresh food with friendly service. The owners and staff are always helpful, they answer our questions and make my food alpha gal safe for me. We also enjoy the seating choices of inside or out. The covered patio is a plus for this chilly weather. Thank you guys for this comfortable local establishment!! A major plus for the Bassett Va community!!

Really enjoyed stopping here! The menu was varied which gave us a wider option of things to eat. The bbq chicken was delicious, with a side of texas toast and slaw. They also had great choices for the kids like a delicious french toast peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwich, which was a huge hit! Worth stopping by and sitting on the patio

I can’t even begin to pick one favorite food from here. Homemade, everything seasoned just right with their own perfected recipes. The service from everyone is so helpful, courteous and all done with a team effort!! And breakfast all day tops it all off!! And now the homemade dog treats make our pups day as well💕. Favorite employee??? They all outdo themselves and go above and beyond!! If you haven’t been there yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!!

We have had the best experiences at the Railway Cafe! Our kids love it-especially our 3 year old. They make it a family friendly place (because he knows no boundaries and tries to sneak in the kitchen to hug them 😅)
The food is excellent and there is not a long wait time at all which is wonderful when you’re willing to drive nearly 30 minutes to get there because it’s so worth it!

I love visiting Railway Cafe! The food is always amazing! It’s delicious and very affordable. My favorite is the macaroni salad. It’s a “lick the bowl when you’re done” good. French fries with the railway sauce is also a must! All of the employees are kind, courteous and make you feel welcome. I always look forward to my next visit! Picture- all of this food was $36 and we took leftovers home!

Railway is our favorite place to grab a bite! Our food is always fresh and/or hot. We’ve tried several things from the menu and have nothing negative to say about any of it!! My favorite is the chefs salad with all the meat. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Madison is such a sweetheart and so polite (everyone is!!).

I have a daughter with special needs. She has a hard time with noises and crowds in other restaurants and therefore it distracts her and she can't eat there. We have to end up taking the food home. This does NOT happen at Railway Cafe. She has had good experiences each time and has tried new things. It's her favorite place to go. Her favorites are the Caboose, the French Toast and the fries !
A couple of times she has had a hard time deciding what to order and the employee working there has suggested a sandwich and she has loved it each time. We have enjoyed our food outside and inside, there's always cool music playing to enjoy and friendly staff to help us with extra napkins or Railway sauce.

Railway Cafe has the best food in town! It is always fresh and delicious.....don't miss the opportunity to get the best fries and sauces around. Their salads are never wilted and that homemade ranch is OUTSTANDING!! The owners and staff are the best, always ready to serve. So thankful to have Railway Cafe in small town, Bassett. ❤
