This grove is a lovely spot in what first seems to be a desolate field between the Pentagon and the Potomac River. The parking is free (but do not park in the Pentagon parking lot). The walk is slightly overgrown with vegetation, but it has a refreshing natural feel. The view across the Potomac opens up when you approach the granite statue. It also appears as though the park is open past dusk.

I’ve parked at the Pentagon and walked around this memorial a few times now! Many people watch the July 4th fireworks from here. Nice views of DC across the Potomac River.

It is a wonderful place to reflect on the legacy of President Lyndon Johnson. Also, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln Memorials can be seen in the distance.

This is a wonderful outdoor walking trail, grove, and bridge. There are grassy areas, a meadow, pine trees, a stone sculpture, and, on the river side, a sweeping view of the Potomac River, the Key Bridge, and the Washington Monument. There are boat rentals. Tourists, walkers, and joggers fill the trail. Wildlife, including Aquatic and land animals abound.

Beautiful walks, quiet and off the beaten path in DC. Will come back with paddleboard/kayak and explore via water.

I thought the monolith wasn't very symbolic but the area itself surrounding the monolith was very beautiful and the view was nice too.

A peaceful and serene area that belies the noise and bustle just beyond its borders.

A very nice park to visit. It is very clean although I was there as a volunteer to clean the park. There are biking trails as well. So a very nice park for jogging and biking.

very pretty, cute little walk. I wish there was a place to stamp the national park passport here but unfortunately I had to go all the way to the George Washington memorial parkway visitor center to do that. still a great park!

Very nice park. We were there to celebrate the fourth of July and watch the fireworks. Great place for watching the fireworks! Additionally, it looks like it would be a nice quiet park with great views of DC any time of year.

Very scenic location. We utilized this area as the start/finish for a nice morning run. Great accessibility for recreational activities and it seems to have adequate accommodations.

It's amazing to find a peaceful and tranquil location so close top all the insanity that is the D.C. area, and within sight of the Pentagon!

Peaceful, safe and secure yet okay to visit and tweet and share and snap and catch up on some social media, while the traffic dies down, getting back on the highway. “Street lights come on, park is closing” respect that.

We loved it. Favorite memorial in DC and highly underrated. Easy walk from Theodore Roosevelt island, and a fabulous respite from bustling life in the big city. Sitting there reminds me of the calm waters of the Perdenales.
