The Boathouse at City Point

Overlooking the confluence of the Appomattox and James Rivers, the view from the boathouse is pretty sweet. The food and service are pretty great but best of all, dogs are allowed on the patio! Please don't bring them though if they are ill tempered. This is a restaurant after all!

The experience is always amazing! We visit this location often and have always sat outside for the views, this time we sat inside because it was a little chilly. We were offered a champagne toast for our anniversary and I cannot express enough how great our server April was! So cheerful and very prompt! I will definitely ask for her again on our next visit!

This was actually my second time here and what drove me to leave a review. The service during their happy hour was phenomenal. The reduced price for appetizers was awesome and the food as it was before was amazing. I think the only negative is that it isn't in everyones price range but with the happy hour it is pretty affordable for just about anyone. First visit after living in the area the last 16 years. We had brunch and it was amazing. There was a 10 minute wait to get a table and the waitress was very busy so we didn't see her much as I would have expected. The few of the river and Hopewell boardwalk was beautiful.

Brunch was a little on the steep side so I'm assuming dinner would have been more expensive.

Neither of us liked the music playing and wished we both had ear plugs.

Since it was an absolutely amazing day, I thought the experience was awesome.

Would we return? Yes, absolutely.

The food here was exceptional. I've never had fried shrimp where you could taste the butter in the breading. It was so good and the cocktail sauce was very tangy in a good way. The fries were perfect. The calamari was also amazing. My server Oleksandre (I hope I spelled that right) was exceptional as well. 10/10 would come here again

What a beautiful afternoon on the James! Dinner was amazing-the salmon and brussel sprouts were perfection! My server, Melanie, was absolutely the best! Her recommendations were all on point! Don’t miss out on the Boathouse!

Just like their Rocketts Landing and Sunday Park locations, the view here is breathtaking. The food was amazing! Our waitress Maricar was so friendly and attentive, she checked with us often to make sure we had the best dining experience. My friend and I both ordered the Boatbouse Burger with a cut of Chowder. The Corn and jalapeño Hushpoppies is a mush have. They even served cookie and ice cream with a candle for my friend’s birthday at the end of the meal. It was such a great experience!
20% gratuity is included before tax, but they tell you up front. I really appreciate how they do business.

Stopped in today for lunch and sat at the bar outside ... absolutely beautiful view.... I am a travel Healthcare professional in the area and have been wanting to try the Boathouse... it absolutely did not disappoint! B52 Coffee was amazing! Loved the crispy Brussel sprouts and The Boathouse Burger... my son is a professional chef and I feel like I am very picky about good food and everything I tried was delicious! I will be back to my new favorite restaurant while here!!!! Thank you for the fabulous service, Sara B!!! You were awesome!!!!

I enjoyed a nice evening with some well prepared seafood overlooking the river. Melanie took care of everything behind the bar and ensured I had a wonderful experience.

This was our 2nd visit to the Boathouse & it didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Kayla was an absolute delight! We had the pleasure of being seated at her table for NYE & what a nice way to experience our last meal of 2023. She was very personable, attentive and her service is TOP NOTCH!

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Had dinner date with my old friend haven't seen 26 years and it was such a nice place to be at. I had Atlantic salmon and he had fish &chips, shared crab & artichoke dip. Server was very nice and sweet young lady. She did great job. We walked in late last night and atmosphere in this place was amazing. Great experience and we had a lovely dinner.

First time at this restaurant and very impressed.sat at the bar an met JoJo. He was quite nice and had great conversations with him as well as an awesome bartender! Then got seated April was server she did an outstanding job an was as friendly. The food was amazing! The view was as well awesome. Can’t wait to stop back in !

You can't beat Sarah and Jen's flawless service! The drinks, food, and atmosphere are top-notch. Happy hour is the perfect time to enjoy their amazing beverages!

Sara B. gave us outstanding service at the bar during Sunday Brunch today. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The drinks, food, and dessert were delicious and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this business to others. We will be back like always!

What an incredible experience yesterday we had! Not sure why but we had never been to this location and I am glad that we decided to try it because it was by far the best experience we have ever had at a boathouse location! The service was amazing and the food was absolutely top notch. We where super impressed that the Chef stopped by the table ( Chef Tia I believe is her name) and asked how the meals where which is something that very seldom happens in restaurants. Will definitely be returning and it will probably be this week!

It was well worth the drive. The atmosphere was amazing. Boats can actually dock there and people can be serviced. Really nice and upscale. Brian was an awesome waiter and went out of the way to make sure our two birthday people had a delicious desert to celebrate them. Now the food, the popcorn shrimp was very satisfying and they were way bigger than popcorn shrimp from a chain restaurant. The fried oysters with the sauce were amazing with that spicy kick. The jalapeño hush puppies were very disappointing. The batter didn’t have the consistency of hush puppies and there was no fire with the jalapeños. Overall, our table was pleased and we will be making plans to dine there again really soon.

Our family attended the Easter buffet. The food was amazing, especially the salmon and shrimp! Chef Tia is amazing! Her cooking was delicious. The view was beautiful from the outside seating and the service was delightful. We will definitely be back!

I went to The Boathouse for my birthday. The hostess Sara Bitto is AMAZING! Her customer service is the best! She was extremely kind and my children loved her! She also went out of her way to write me a very nice birthday card, dessert and wished me a great birthday. I look forward to coming back again! Also the drinks she made were top notch!

One of the best places places in the city to have a view and enjoy food. Service was awesome. Rebekah was amazing and she made sure she took care of us.
