Fantastic views. Really nice grounds. Need to check schedule not always posted with Ranger and house tours. But is well worth the time when it’s available.

One of my favorite places to visit in the Tri-Cities area. The crowds are minimal, the view is stunning, and there’s much to explore. Very much worth the visit, even just by itself.

City Point had some history that I learned about for thr first time, has the cabin that General Grant used during the Siege of Petersburg campaign. Location in Hopewell, overlooks the James River.

I grew up there and I was also able to do volunteer services for this park and there is so much history to not only this specific place but also for Hopewell in general on a side note tho I have made so many good memories at that location and it never lets me down for a cool place to go and chill

This is a wonderful small park that shows a few aspects of our history. The house is a good starting point for both the tour as well as the wonderful porch that it has. The grounds are will kept and maintained, plus there are several historic houses nearby, that though privately owned are great to view while walking down towards the river. Fishing off the wooden deck at the rivers edge or farther back along the trail are also a couple things you could do here alone or with family/friends.

This is a beautiful park with fresh cut grass and an area to fish. The history here is also worth the visit. You can watch a brief video explaining the site's significance during the Civil War in one of the houses. Also, the site of the river is relaxing. I thoroughly have enjoyed my visits to this park.

Had a great time at this hidden litte treasure. Its located right on the water. This is a great place for a stroll with history. There is room for the kids to run around too. I play Pokemon Go and it was great to see so many others that do too! Lots of spots and gyms!

Go right as the sun sets or rises, watch the change of the guard reflected in the water, take a deep breath and get in your car and drive away. Its gorgeous out there but the beauty is haunting. There are undertones of sadness I think that's why so many people are drawn here.

An absolutely beautiful spot that sits high on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the James and Appomattox rivers. There is a short film that can be viewed in the manor house that explains the area's importance throughout history, specifically during the civil war. They grounds are very well maintained and there are some absolutely stunning trees throughout the property. Birdwatching opportunities are everywhere with plenty of bald eagles, osprey, and cormorants as well as lots of smaller species in the woodline along the bluff such as cardinals, brown thrashers, and various warblers.
