The Bird is the Word! Chef/Owner Dave Shiplett has created a vibe and atmosphere at The Birdrock Taco Shack that can easily be compared to Key West! Nestled in the Village of the Arts in Bradenton, they provide great food, friendly relaxed and positive energy, and has some of the best live music in the area! If you are looking for a great snack, a cold beverage, some ear candy, or just want to sit and watch the day go by in the Village, Birdrock is the place to go.

Excellent food & service. Very interesting menu with classic & asian/ mexican fusion flavor options and several vegetarian options. The atmosphere was very casual during a weekday but seems to be set up to be much more lively during the weekends with live music. Street parking only but sidewalks were clear and we were able to park very close by.

Great spot for tacos and entertainment.

Back to Florida just in time to catch the awesome Mike Zito Blues Band.
Entertainment every week.

OMG❣❣❣ My daughter & I had a late lunch/early dinner here and we absolutely loved it! The lady who was working there was so nice & patient. The atmosphere is eclectic & laid back. The menu had many options(both vegan & nonvegan). The prices were very fair considering the quality of the food. The portions weren't huge but the food was filling. I got the brussel sprout, caramelized onions taco and my daughter got the beef ribs taco. We both got the beans and rice side along with their delicious ginger beer. It was all we could do to finish this most excellent meal! Truly worth visiting this lovely establishment!

Off chance find...... it is a cozy place with great food. The salsa was perfect, the guac...well it was ok. ALL of the tacos we tried were delicious. We will be going back to try the others soon. Wish they had draft beer and maybe smaller portions so we could try more of the menu. I'll recommend the roasted beet and goat cheese taco as it was my favorite one. Parking will be an issue, but worth it. Go, and bring a few friends, this will earn you a "you picked an awesome place" award from your friends!

Delicious food and great service. There were 3 vegan tacos on the menu. Never had gourmet tacos like this, with caramelized Brussels sprouts and nuts. Yum! Also had the Avocado Smash Guacamole, which was very good. Nice shaded place to sit outside in the Village of the Arts.

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Birdrock Taco Shack. The food was really good, we definitely want to go to explore the menu some more. They have tacos anywhere from $2-6 and then burritos for a little More but the tacos were pretty cheap especially for what you get. I was really impressed by the different types of tacos they had on the menu. It wasn’t a typical boring menu. They had Thai, and Vietnamese inspired tacos as well as southern style ones. And more too! Really loved it

Great little spot off the beaten path in Bradenton. Very colorful and artsy area it is located in. They have a great selection of tacos, and a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The guacamole was fantastic. I would of taken photos of my tacos, but I ate them so fast!!!

First timer! Wait staff prompt and very helpful to a newbie. The Roasted Brussel Sprout taco was INCREDIBLE! The most delicious taco I have ever had. The Avocado taco was the opposite of the first one. It’s favor was cool and refreshing and very delicious. As the Brussel Sprout was bold and tangy. They were both vegan tacos. There are 2 more vegan tacos on the menu which I plan on trying on my next visit.

I’ve never seen such an extensive menu for street tacos in my life! This place is such a hidden jewel. Everything made to order, staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Let’s not forget to mention the cool and quirky decor…I will for sure come back here to try what I didn’t have a chance to try the first time. Oh…clean bathrooms and great pricing! I highly recommend this place!

The place was tucked back a bit from the normal drag, but worth the detour. Very eclectic decor -- had an artsy, homy feel -- being surrounded by off-the-beaten-path galleries. Food was great (had a tinga chicken taco and a pork carnitas taco, my friend had the pork taco and shrimp taco). Highly recommend the pork, and the chips and salsa were great too. Super friendly service - the waitress was all smiles and conversational. Would go again.

Very different spin on food . Very good pork tacos . The chicken needed some heat . Pork Burtito was good . Kinda sweet but good . Nothing to cover the taste was needed for this place . Don't let the area scare you away or you will miss a great lunch.

This is easily one of the top 3 places I’ve tried when visiting this area. The lobster taco was great but the Korean bbq short rib…wow. Amazing. Might even go back and get more for dinner!

Great gluten free options! Just fyi "crispy onions" are the breaded and fried ones.... My bad for not asking. Once I removed those, everything was delicious! The chips are fresh and the salsa left me wishing I could bottle it and take it home! Highly recommend!

Hands down the BEST tacos ever. This place is a MUST if you are wanting gourmet food at a decent price. The menu caters to everyone's palate from meat eaters to vegan. The fried green tomato one was my favorite. Already looking forward to our next trip there! Great job chef!!!!

The owner is also the chef, and he is excellent! Also, probably some of the best original music you can hear in Sarasota Bradenton is here at the Taco Shack!

Wowzers! So lucky to find this hidden gem! Guac was AWESOME, tamale, tacos and burritos were also fantastic. Not a big place, seating inside and out. Fresh lemonade and solid selection of craft brews and cider. Parking can be tricky but wasn't too hard to find a spot on the street.
