La Centinela Mexican Restaurant

The chips and salsa are great. The tacos are delicious and BIG. The fountain drinks are on pointtttttt. AND the decor is amazing. Lazaro was our server and he was great, very attentive and fast. Can easily recommend! Will be back soon!

Stopped in after a doctors appointment and there were not that many people. Although the hostess was a bit serious our waiter was amazing! He was very polite and helpful. My husband had the costillas plate and I had the mole ranchero with a side of beans. We both had agua de Jamaica and then we were also given a spicy salsa. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Accommodated 27 people in a party room. The staff was so attentive. Delesious food. It was take home what you didn't eat that good.
Spent 18 years in Texas. That was a great meal. Everyone else had so many positive things to say about their dinners and the staff. All 25 people were talking about how wonderful the food and staff were. We had a great family reunion at wonderful restaurant.

First time here great food and atmosphere.

This visit we noticed a serious change in the quality of the food. We were last there in July with family. This time the meat portion of entries was significantly less and more peppers and onions added to cover. The beef in tacos and on nachos was extremely salty too.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant, and I live in Athens. I have never had a bad experience here. The servers are friendly, the portions are large and worth it, and the food tastes great! My favorite entree is the Tacos La Centinela. Also, this location is cheaper by a dollar or two compared to the one in Braselton.

The service was great. Food was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. We didn't eat everything, had plenty to bring home for lunch the next day.

Wonderful place! My preggo cravings wanted a particular dish a certain way and when it didn’t come out right the first time, the owner took it upon himself to make it for me and better! He even brought out an extra quesadilla because my son had thrown his on the floor. Staff is amazing and very kind and just want to make sure you enjoy what your are eating and go out of their way to make you happy. We will be back and with more family! Thank you for the wonderful experience it means a lot!

Everything was hot and fresh. Food came out fast. Drinks was good! Service was great. They were very clean! We will back.

It was pretty much one of the best mex rest that I've been. Why? because most of they're plates include avocado and not stingy with it. The soup also had avocado. Large variety in the menu.

Stopped by for a quick lunch for the first time. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, gave you plenty. Waiter very nice and pleasant. Wife wanted margaritas 🍹 but had to go back to work. We have to return soon to try the margaritas on the weekend. Looking forward to going back they should be a top 5.

Just passing thru & ate here. The restaurant has tons of seating, cold AC in the summer heat, chips, salsa & food was really good. I personally didn't care for my rice, thought it was a little bland, but I still ate it lol. I know how picky people can be & how hard it is to cater to everyone's tastes. So my dislike of the rice, maybe someone's favorite. Either way, I liked the restaurant, good sized menu.

New seating and some upgrades. Best choice in central or downtown Winder area for Mexican food. A solid choice for consistent food and really good service.

Celebrating a birthday? You surely need to have them celebrate with you. Be a good sport because there is a "surprise" at the end of the song. Have your camera ready!

There is a large gathering room in the back which is perfect for large gatherings. Plenty of room for social distancing, it's a big room.

We eat here a lot we love the food and service

Have been coming here with my family for over 10 years. We drive 45 minutes to get here and pass about 20 other Mexican restaurants. My family is Mexican and the dishes here have an authentic casero taste.

The food is pretty good. I'd give it a solid 9/10. The place is nice and spacious for gatherings. Would definitely return there again.
