Do not send your children here. The teacher turnover rate is high, which tells you something about the school climate. Talking to the teachers, I would say that most of them are not happy and can say that there's no collaboration and unity among the staff. Some of the teachers who come back hate working with children. Not many teachers actually care about students. Teachers run out the door as soon as it's 3:30 ( I notice this while attempting to meet with my daughter's teachers). I've witness teachers counting down the hours until dismissal. I've heard some teachers labeling some kids as "good" and others "bad." Not a lot of teachers are engaged in whole school after school activities. There is not a lot of resource for students with special needs/different learning style. The administration is rarely present and there was a vice principal who always shouted when talking to students or making an announcement over the PA. This is NOT an IB school. Anyone who has worked there (including parents) would agree that the climate is overwhelmingly negative.

Horrible horrible job this year along with last year, the teachers need mandatory conferences... The staff play with the children like they are in the same grade, principals and staff do not even welcome parents with a simple hi... Where are the parent nights for parents that work until 5, children are forced to stand outside when they should be able to stand between the doors of outside and going in...nobody calls with good reports.. Ms. Ellis is more interested in the games on Saturday than making a connection with parents. I visit the school often and there is no order what so ever and not enough security, the school lunch trays are horrible my child comes home hungry often. They should be shut down immediately... This would be a poor choice enrolling here. I would also like to add that they are horrible with keeping children's attendance as well..

I attend Rufus King MYC 2012-2013 school as an 8th grader. I beg you PLEASE do NOT send your child(ren), cousin, sister, brother, nephew, niece and etc. I wouldn't even send my dog here if I had one!!! Every single day during the first couple of mouths the police were there because of fights! Throughout the school year we had about 3 or 4 lockers checked because of weed being brought into the school building! And not to mentation kids were smoking in the class room! Yes, I said it they were smoking in the class room! They also didn't want to give us an completion ceremony they claimed since they were a 6-12th school they're not able to but YET Milw. School of Langs. is an 6-12th school and they have one and also Morse-Marshall. But we ended up having one after all. There are some good teachers but not many. This is a very small building and very unorganized.
