My father was sent to Select Specialty Hospital after having a major surgery. He was treated very well and all the staff were great. He said the food was wonderful as well. Eddie in therapy made a good impression on my father and it seemed like Eddie found a way to lift my father's spirits on his not so great days. My husband and I visited everyday. Staff was always very nice and welcoming. No complaints on our end.

I dont even know where to begin how wonderful the hospital and staff were at Select Hospital. We were there almost 7 weeks.
The 1st week mom was there I went to the cafeteria for coffee, saw her doctor (that was their all day long). He asked me how mom was doing and I had a concern. He turned and introduced me to the pharmacist Duane. The doctor continued to let me know he consults Duane with every issue on mom to make sure the medication he wants to give her wont effect anything they were already doing. Mom wanted to take the doctor home with her when she left. The doctors changed as they also need days off and we loved them all. It was a comfort to know Duane was the constant there.
Duane made several trips to moms room to visit and answer questions we had. Mom feel in love with him and had confidence in her treatment.
I cant say enough about all the nurses, assistant’s. They went above and beyond for her. I know at times mom needed a lot of care but everyone was there with a smile to help her. They took the time to talk to us about moms health and to make sure we understood. There was times I walked into the hall almost in tears and nurses that wasn't even moms nurses that day would come up and ask me if I was alright and give me comfort. Our last evening there the nurse and ad stayed and help us give mom a bath. I can tell you mom didnt have one red spot on her body after being in the hospital for seven weeks.
They have a wonderful wound care nurse Lisa that come in once a week or as needed. Lisa would just pop her head in and check on mom and make mom laugh.
The Physical Therapist team was so wonderful. I added a picture of Garret and one of them standing her up and joking with her to make her laugh when it truly wasn’t an easy task for her. Then we played UNO for the time she had to stand. We all laughed so hard until she beat us at UNO It was such a great time.
Debbie from occupational therapy showed up in our room at different times when we needed her help to change mom or get her in a chair. She worked with mom to help her have grip to hold her silverware I can’t say enough about her.
The cafeteria was amazing.. The main lady asked the if I had someone in the hospital the first day. She always asked how mom was doing and let me know she cared. If mom ordered something and later when the meal came it wasnt what she wanted then they would get her what she felt like eating. I would arrive around 7:30am, somedays mom would say she woke up at 4 they got her a cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal with a big smile.
One evening I was clearing her table after she had dinner and noticed she had a stool softener open on it. I called for the nurse and when she came in I asked if mom was suppose to drink it. She smiles and said that was what they had put in moms ears to soften her ear wax. The next morning the dietitian came in moms room and was asking how mom was doing with her meals. I told her I thought really good. Then I shared what had happened the night before with the stool softener. She smiled and said that was the real reason she came in because she saw two stool softener on moms RX list. We all laughed but it made us feel good to know they were watching so close.
The cleaning lady that cleaned moms room most days became one of moms friends and they always laughed together and mom felt like she was family.
The windows was nice and low so moms great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren could go to the window outside, call inside to a cell phone and talk to Grandma Margaret.
They were able to draw mom pictures to make her smile. She got to watch them blow bubbles and dance in front of the windows. Mom loved children and that was so uplifting for her.
Mom turned 82 (28 as we said) in the hospital. The staff came to moms room and sang Happy Birthday. We were able to put signs out her window.
I know I have left some out but everyone was wonderful.
The morning after mom passed our niece saw the heart clouds above Select Hospital. We feel it was from the love mom felt💗

My son was here 27 days, the first time, 30 the next for rehabilitation. The staff everyone from the Drs to the janitorial services are absolutely wonderful. Made our stay a lil better by being so friendly and made us feel like family! This has been a long hard journey. The medical director is an amazing man. He treated my son like
he was his own child!

I have worked here as a Doctor of Physical Therapy since Aug of 19'. We have had some coworkers from each department come and go throughout the years. That being said I have been proud to work here since day one. The amount of miracles I have witnessed are innumerable. I am heavily involved in patient care, as well as satisfaction surveys. I love hearing all the positive feedback patients and their loved ones have to offer about how friendly the staff is. Also our kitchen staff get high marks from just about everyone.

I have attached several photos of our facility, that I personally took. All of our rooms are private, & have all amenities. One of my favorite features is the large windows!

I came here not able to stand by myself and after 2 weeks of Physical therapy and Occupational therapy, I can stand up using a walker all by myself. Walk with the walker, turn and sit and back up again all by myself. All of the staff are totally awesome and positive. I so love this Rehabilitation Hospital and highly recommend it to others.

The Care I received was nothing short of Great. Each and every person that worked there was like a Ray of Sunshine and Hope to me. I had all but given up and ready to move on until I was moved into this Specialty Hospital and that first night all I could remember is a member of the staff constantly telling me what appeared to be all night long that now that I am here, we are going to take care of you. We care about you, soothing me and rubbing my arm. Not only did she give me hope again, but they lived up to every word she said. The Doctors, Nurses and staff made me feel like I was the most important person they ever had and did all they could to ensure that I had a fast and speedy recovery. They were so good that what I am writing here does not do them justice and is a complete understatement in the quality service I received. Truely they were instrumental in my recovery. Thank you everyone at Select Specialty Hospital.

My dad, Mike, was taken to Select Specialty for rehab since he couldn't stand/walk due to neuropathy from chemo. They made sure he was clean, fed, and well taken care of. He was there for a couple of weeks, and they really did try to work with him on getting up and moving around. Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is a cruel illness. Despite my dad trying his best, he was moved to a skilled nursing facility, where he passed a week later.

I am so grateful for so many who took care of him. The aides, therapists, doctors, nurses, etc. were so kind and professional. They really helped my dad have some dignity and grace at the end of his life. I am so grateful for everyone's helping hand. I can't thank you all enough. ❤

My family and I chose Select Specialty Hospital for my 82 year old grandmother. She needed extended open wound care. The first day was a whirlwind of all the departments coming in to talk and access her condition and needs. The wound care nurse came in and said that she believed she could successfully get a wound vac on despite our fears... AND SHE DID! To make a long story short... we are ecstatic that we chose Select!! They have exceeded all our expectations. My grandmother has fallen in love with the nursing staff. Every department answered all of questions and they ALL go above and beyond!! We give Select Specialty Hospital a 5 star rating! Highly recommend!!!

I was transferred there from University of Missouri hospital for a botched esophageal hiatal hernia operation in mid February 2019 to early September 2019. I received excellent care especially considering the shape I was in. Had to learn to walk again. Couldn't eat almost 200 days. I coded 5 times before coming to you. Had a ventilator twice. Temporary trach. Lost all my hair. I have nerve damage in my finger tips, toes , and the left side of my mouth. Was on ten. Coded in April and rushed to mercy icu for 4 weeks then back to you. Nurse Karen was great along with Leeann in radiology and Maria in housekeeping, Boaz and Debi with my therapies. I believe I'd be dead if I hadn't been in your care.

I'm getting discharged today from this hospital. Hands down, one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hospital setting. I've been hospitalized at numerous facilities and this one here I highly recommend!. The Drs and nurses were very friendly and informative to me and answered all my questions about my care and medicine. They went out of their way all the time and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. From their administration to their housekeeping, everything was on point. So overall I'd give them 10 stars if I was able too. So if you need services here or your family does, do not hesitate to use them and their services. Thank you Select Specialty hospital for all you do!! ❤❤💯

I recently spent a couple of weeks here recovering from a wound. No words cannot explain how amazing the staff and my experience was at this establishment. My first couple of nights I was uneasy but the night nurse at that time, Ms. Donna, helped me so much and eased my mind. If ever you need a place to go, go here.

There are absolutely no words to describe what an amazing place of healing this is, but I'm going to try.
I was cared for at Select Specialty Hospital of Springfield for a little over a month after a devastating infection resulting in a large surgical wound. To start, the building is beautiful, rooms are single capacity, clean and spacious. Housekeeping staff are uplifting people who do an excellent job daily. The food is excellent! There are lots of options and the dietary staff are friendly and helpful. Doctors, nurses and therapy staff are some of the most sympathetic, caring and knowledgeable caregivers you will experience in the healthcare setting. I shared laughter on my good days and on the days I was feeling down, they lifted my spirits and were my biggest cheerleaders! The wound care staff are second to none and brought my extensive wound to a miraculous place of healing in a very short time. Everyone there obviously acknowledge and embrace that they are treating people and not just an illness. I had a wonderful experience there and would not hesitate to go back or send a loved one there if it was needed. May God bless them all and continue to guide their hearts, hands and minds in their daily care of the people they serve.

My best friend is placed here right now and the people along with the care they provide for her is PHENOMENAL.
They take such good care of her and I honestly couldn’t thank them enough, as this has been a long tough road for her. And will continue to be for full recovery to happen!

I honestly cannot say enough good about this hospital. My daughter was first admitted there last June after some unforeseen medical issues. Since last June, she has been admitted to Select a total of 4 times and each time she has had amazing care. We have specifically requested for her to be transferred there from the other local hospitals once she was able because we knew that she would receive the best care there.
The first time she was admitted she coded and if it had not been for the fast acting teams there, our daughter would not be with us today. Megan Williams, RN, Lisa Higgins, RN, and a team of some of the best respiratory staff, nurses, aids, pharmacists, support staff and doctors there are who made it possible to see my daughters smile each day after that.
This last time she was admitted was due to Necrotising Fasciitis. Before coming to Select, she had to have multiple emergency surgeries at one of our other hospitlas in town. They took wonderful care of her there but we asked for her to be transferred to Select for their wound care. Lisa Higgins, RN is an amazing wound care nurse and we truly feel that our daughters arm and hand would not have healed the way they have without the amazing wound care she received from Lisa.
We will forever be thankful to everyone at Select. They are caring, compationate, understanding, positive, uplifting, and you can tell always have the patients best interest at heart. They want the patients to get better and go home to their families and to be able to live a full and rewarding life. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who is in need of long term care facility for themselves or their families.

You will not experience a greater level of care and compassion towards the patients and visitors, then here at Select Specialties. The staff is extremely friendly and caring towards their patients visitors, and other staff members. They go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. The employees seem to work well together with all departments. The facility is very clean. I'm very impressed with everyone here from housekeeping, security, cafeteria, administration, facilities management, and all departments of nursing. I deal alot with hospitals all over the Midwest. This one comes in at the top. Thank you to everyone at Select Specialties

I read some reviews and found a few that said they were fake reviews. I am a real person you can find me on Facebook. My name is Angie Ball and I was in Select Medical Rehab hospital after spending weeks in Mercy ICU with Covid. The whole rehab facility was exceptional to me and my family. room was kept clean, beds were made when I would let them. I couldn't stand after my stay in the hospital along with breathing issues and they addressed both with care. They not only had to clean me when I couldn't they did it with compassion. I pushed that nurses button when I got scared, couldn't sleep or when I needed help of any kind. I know they had other people worse off than myself to help yet they also helped me. When they had to limit visitors to only 1 per day they let my husband bring in my son who is an adult with Autism. Imagine how much that helped in my recovery. I am home now and still recovering but Select Medical Specialty Hospital gave me the tools and are still a resource for me to contact when I have questions or concerns. I highly recommend them if they are needed for you or a family member. As most hospitals and rehab facilities in our country are trying to keep up with the influx of people, this facility is exceptional. Thanks for reading this long winded post. I talk a lot.
Sincerely,
Angie B.

This is one of Springfield's best kept medical secrets. This may be long but worth the read if you are in need of their services.
My mom was in a terrible auto accident and spent 2 weeks in ICU and had a tracheotomy using flow by oxygen with it when we were discharged. We were transferred to Select Hospital the day after she was moved from ICU to step down care.
From the first day I walked in every staff member acknowledged me as they passed me in the hallways and after 2 weeks they still do. Now they are getting to know me and we even chat when they have time.
I have noticed a genuine sense of pride in where they work and they truly care about their patients and the patient's family. They want to make their patients as comfortable as possible while they are healing while and your loved one is in their care.
They keep everything clean and it never has a smell that is displeasing. They have quality products they use. They have quality people they hire in all areas. They were attentive when we used the nurse call light. My mom was not able to speak at first and only answering questions with yes and no responses most of the time we have been here. It was very important to me that she get the attention needed when I could not be there. They did this and made sure to check on her frequently because of her lack of ability to communicate and move.
They worked with her to get her off of oxygen flow by and then moved her step by step to gradually removing her trach. Now we are ready for the next steps in her care and will have to leave the wonderful staff we have become close too. She is ready for more intense TBI therapy.
I was with my mom most of the day, everyday. I watched how each staff member from all different departments interacted with her. From Housekeeping to Doctors they all wanted to be sure she and I both had anything we needed. They treated her like their own family. Caring and compassionate yet they made sure she pushed herself to do what she needed to in the recovery plan.

Of course they are not perfect but they always asked if there was anything they could do better and listened to any concerns I had. They also worked very hard to correct things they could or explain to me why if something couldn't be done.
Again, they are proud of where they work and want it to be the best possible and strive to do better with everything since there is always room for improvement in anything we do.
I highly recommend Select Specialty Hospital for your medical needs.
