Crockford-Pigeon Mountain WMA - Blue Hole

beautiful little spring hole. Water seems to be low right now, but I bet after a few good rains this spring will pump much harder and raise the level of the water. With that said, the water quality has a beautiful blue tint to it, and the water is clear and cold . Perfect for a summer swim! Consider yourself lucky to have this awesome natural resource if you live nearby, and please take care of it!

The area around the water needs some TLC and the bridge has seen better days but it’s still a beautiful little spot to get away to. I miss the days when you were able to camp closer to the water but people kept disrespecting the area and we ended up losing that privilege.

You must have a Georgia fishing or hunting license to camp here otherwise there is no charge. It's so peaceful. Out of about 6 campsites we are the only ones here. The Blue Hole is on down the road and Ellison's Cave is down a trail beside the Blue Hole. There is a lot of traffic in and out to the Blue Hole otherwise it's very quiet. If you choose to visit the cave definitely bring water with you. The trail is steep long and strenuous. I would highly recommend it.

This small blue hole was perfect to cool off in. Took two of our dogs to play in the water. It is ice cold. The parking area is right next to it as well. We did attempt to hike up the mountain, but the path was obstructed by thick brush.

Very good experience no hassle by anyone Camp by Camp playing the only problem we had to clean our campsite up when we got there from the last people that used it

This is a great place for hiking and caving!
Let's be clear, though:
Spelunking should be approached with CAUTION and EXPERTISE.

This place is fantastic, enjoyed it tremendously with my 9 year old granddaughter
