Jonah's Fish & Grits

First time we came here it was so packed we couldn’t get in (our mistake - just that busy a spot on a nice weekend). Today we got lucky and scored a beautiful table by the window for lunch. My wife loved the cyclone shrimp; I really enjoyed the catfish. In terms of sides, the collard greens were delicious, as were the sprouts. Service was awesome!

Babeeee!!! When I tell you the food at this place is AMAZING, you better believe it!! We went on a Saturday night and it was an hour wait. But it was definitely worth the wait!! EVERYTHING & I do mean EVERYTHING WE ATE WAS DELICIOUS!! If there's a word better than delicious, it's all that and more!! We ordered the Cyclone Shrimp. The shrimp was incredibly fresh and I loved that it wasn't heavily breaded! Also, the Crab Stuffed Salmon with Brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes was scrumptious!! The salmon was super juicy and flavorful! The FGT Sandwich, a chicken sandwich with a fried green tomato and bacon was delicious as well. Oh and those white cheddar grits will make you want to slap someone's mama! Lastly are those hush puppies!! They were so light and tasty! All in all, it is an excellent place to enjoy great food! Jada and the hostess were super friendly and funny! Jada really knows the area! The entire downtown Thomasville is a gem!

Love this place you decided to eat outside as it was less crowded and it was not too hot. Turned out to be a good choice as we had a little fan that blew a breeze and we actually got to speak with some folks coming by walking up the walkway it was very enjoyable time. I had their classic shrimp and grits which was excellent and my wife had The cyclone shrimp which was very good also. Classic hush puppies for starters and we finished with peanut butter pie which was so very good. I look forward to the next time I'm in Thomasville so we can stop in and eat here again.

Husband and I came here for lunch. We got there when they opened and good thing because they got packed FAST!

The hush puppies were AHHHMAZING! I’m not much of a hush puppy person but definitely a fan of theirs!

I got the fried shrimp no aoli sauce because I’m allergic to citrus. They were very accommodating to my allergies. The red slaw was also great. Fries were not as hot as I hoped but they were very good.

My husband got the Big Fish with collard greens and he loved it.
5 out of 5 will return and highly recommend.

Lunch here was a great experience! We chose to eat outside because the weather was just right. The food was delicious! May God continue to bless this business and the family that owns it.

Jonah's may not be the only shrimp and grits place on the planet, and you've seen most things on the menu before. But you will never have every single thing cooked as perfectly as this. We thought that after our first visit two years ago, when we found Jonah's by mistake, and it was still true on this trip when we drove 4 hours out of our way like heat seeking missiles to get here. We had shrimp fried exactly right (not overdone, great batter); heavenly white cheddar grits (possibly cooked with milk or cream instead of water); salmon with a gingersnap crust with their "signature butter" (maybe the lemon butter. No idea. Fab); incredibly generous corn and crab chowder with a dollop of sherry; fried green tomatoes w/sun dried tomatoes, feta and balsamic glaze; and finally their floaty hushpuppies that should make all others just hang up their skillets.

Worth seguing right over to (charming) Thomasville, Ga, if you're within 300 miles.

Stopped by for dinner after visiting Pebble Hill Plantation. It was a perfect April evening so we sat outside. The service and food were excellent! I had the delicious creamy chicken pesto pasta. My daughter had the Cajun shrimp and grits. As a bonus, yummy hot out of the drier hush puppies and a lovely Greek salad with fresh dill!

First time eating here and absolutely loved it!!! Food was great!!! Drove up from Florida and stopped by to try. We will definitely be back!!!

Enjoyed every minute of this lunch with my son. The drive is about a 25-30 minute drive time but well worth it! Just note it does get busy very quickly so plan accordingly! However this the first in a long time the customer service was excellent and food was delicious.

The stuffed salmon was moist, and was cooked perfectly. Best I have ever had! The hush puppies are so good they are addictive! Sitting outside was wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

Wow. Excellent Southern Food restaurant. Each table gets complementary hush puppies with a side of butter. They are fresh, sweet, and airy. The butter adds just the right touch to them. The cup of corn and clam chowder was full of clams and not overloaded with potatoes. It had a unique southern flavor. The Greek salad was perfect and came with a very flavorful dressing. The Cylcone Shrimp was served over a bed of lettuce with their take on of a galricy buuffalo shrimp, very flavorful. The Shrimp and Scallop pesto pasta had a great nutty and earthy flavor and was filled with lots of seafood.
Overall, it was an excellent experience. Definitely recommend stopping here for a perfectly cooked southern meal.

I enjoyed my 40th birthday dinner at Jonah's! The Cajun Shrimp & Grits was fantastic and paired with the hush puppies that melt in your mouth! My son loved the kids shrimp and fries! Great atmosphere for kids or date night! Don't sleep on this amazing establishment!!

A beautiful little restaurant in the downtown are. Hostess and servers were top notch! Food was tasty!! That glazed chicken was the best I've ever had! 10/10!

Yesterday was my first time visiting this restaurant and there was almost an hour wait…and I’m not surprised, the food here was absolutely incredible! My wife had the bourbon glazed salmon and she said it was the best salmon she ever had. I had the “Classic” Shrimp and Grits and it was delicious. We are already planning our second trip to this establishment and if there is a two hour wait, so be it!

I just love everything about Jonah's! The food never disappoints, and the atmosphere is always pleasant. Today, I had the Jonah's Fish Fry with Flounder, which was great, but I can also recommend the Parmesan Crusted Grouper and the Chicken Alfredo. Every meal is best with the White Cheddar Grits. They also have the best hushpuppies known to man. There was a wait, but that gave us time to peruse the downtown shops. Just added to the experience.

Our first time - celebrated our anniversaries with friends. Food was outstanding. Great service from our waitress. Since it has intimate seating, we had to wait for our table and we waited in our car and then stood on the sidewalk for the last 20 minutes. Once seated, we felt as if those that stood inside waiting for their table were staring and breathing down our backs as our table was at a very short wall at the front door.

I’ve been here twice and will brave this alcohol-free restaurant anytime for the food! The shrimp and scallops pesto pasta is tasty and enough for 2-3 meals. The shrimp and grits are delicious and the gingersnap salmon is the best salmon I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time - cooked just right (I hate when it’s overcooked and rubbery) and the crust is surprisingly perfect with the salmon!

Their hush puppies are the best I’ve eaten and the peanut butter pie for dessert is delicious if you like a good chocolate ganache!

Highly recommend! Their food is consistently EXCELLENT! Best Cajun Shrimp 🍤 and Grits I’ve ever had! I try them every where we go. Jonah’s is a must try restaurant in Thomasville. The staff is always delightful. The outdoor seating is great when the weather allows.

Once again Jonah's showed out! We don't get to go to often but it is such a treat. You will have to wait but it is worth it! From the moment you sit down to the time you leave the service is outstanding. I have never had a bad experience with the wait staff. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten. I had the shrimp and grits again but this time tried the Cajun style. It was outstanding. Just the right amount of heat to let you know it was there. My wife had the gingersnap and maple Salmon with brussel sprouts and red skin mashed potatoes. Highly recommend!

In town for a funeral and wanted to experience the cuisine of a quaint small town. The atmosphere was a vibe all in itself. Customer Service was great. Now about the food, 10 out of 10! Shrimp and Grits was a hit! You will be winning if you stop here.

I flew to Dallas and while at the registration desk, I met Chris who recognized we were from Savannah. Guess what his next comment was......he was just in Thomasville visiting a relative! Next thing out of his was did you eat Jonah's Fish and Grits!!!! Look at God!!!! We both went on about our meal selections. The hush puppies and fried green tomatoes became a thing🤣🤣🤣🤣 Again, I will say if you are in the area, stop by you won't be disappointed!!!! #JonahFish and Grits 3-13-24
