Jim Dandy's Pub & Grill

It's a shame that I can only give Jim Dandy's one five-star rating because both service and food deserve separate five-star ratings.

The owner, Charlie, went out of his way to reach out to me personally to resolve an issue that occurred before my first attempt at dining at Jim Dandy's. When I finally got to enjoy dinner there, he stopped over multiple times to make sure everything was going well and to thank me for coming back. This shows that he truly cares about his customers and wants the best dining experience for them. Every business owner, not just restaurant owner, should strive to emulate Charlie in that regard.

As for the food, I got the tomahawk steak and crab leg special with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese for the sides. When asked if I wanted soup or salad, I chose the soup, which was corned beef and cabbage.

I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and in my opinion it was an absolutely perfect medium. There was just enough seasoning on the steak to compliment the flavor instead of masking it and the butter on top was a nice touch.

The crab legs were outstanding. I've never had smoked crab legs before and honestly it's going to be hard having non-smoked crab legs going forward. Very unique and I'm glad that I didn't settle for the shrimp or lobster as the seafood option in this special (although I'm sure both of those would have been great as well).

All of the sides were very good. The corned beef and cabbage soup is definitely something I've not had before and was interested in trying. The corned beef was plentiful and the chunks of potato and carrot were a pleasant surprise since I assumed it was mostly going to be just cabbage as the filler opposite the corned beef.

I've already started spreading the word and my coworkers seem interested in going with me next time. Yes, there will for sure be a next time that I visit Jim Dandy's.

Last night was my first time trying Jim Dandy’s. I went in and celebrated for my birthday. Very DELICIOUS food! I was so excited for the 2lb tomahawk steak, lobster tails and two additional sides special! PERFECT portion sizes so you are getting what you pay for! The staff was Amazing and friendly! I definitely will be coming back and I definitely recommend to all my friends!

1st time visit..Had the tomahawk special with the lobster tail and my date had the same with crab legs.. Everything was cooked to perfection, I'll definitely return..Highly recommended..And kudos to our waitress Kelly 😉

Great pizza! The homemade crust is crispy topped with fresh ingredients! I went back and the fish fry and burgers are also great!

Can you fit 11 pounds In a 10 pound sack? That's exactly what we did at Jim Dandy's unable to accommodate a large reservation, we squeezed our large group into a small space. Stealing chairs from all around we were able to all sit and enjoy one of the best fish frys around. Their fried cod left nothing to the imagination. Definitely a winner in every form of the word.

What a pleasant surprise, this was our first visit at this nice Southside Bar and Restaurant. Delicious food and great price and a great quiet place to catch up on the enjoyable book called Bacon Gone Bad, by Brigette DuVal-Begos, you can find it on Amazon, thebookpatch.com and eBay. The food was really good I live in Milwaukee and me and my parents drove all the way out of Milwaukee to eat here

Listen the customer service was great. A+ for food, drinks, cleanliness, and quality was amazing as well. Definitely going back again!

Just had the prime rib dinner everything was fantastic, the mixed vegetables were so good I could've eaten that alone and been happy

Me and my girlfriend are 1st timers and they didn't disappoint. The tomahawk steak deal and it was incredible! So much food we didn't even finish half of it! Our server Jennifer was extremely kind and attentive to not only is but all of her guests. She was great! I'd highly recommend this to everyone, go give their mouth watering tomahawk steak deal a try. 😊

The fish fry was very good. Great portions ! The waitress was very hardworking and such a sweetheart! She kept checking on us! Made our dinner perfect! I can't remember her name and it wasn't on receipt but she is an older lady who took care of us like we were her family! You don't find that anywhere else! Thank you to her !

The tomahawk steak and lobster was excellent. Cream of asparagus soup was delicious.

Fish fry priced right. Three large pieces of beer battered cod with all the trimmings!

Went here on our Anniversary after seeing a post/pic on Facebook. It was definitely worth the hype. It was so good. We got the Tomahawk Steak dinner and it was worth every dollar! Service was great felt very welcomed.

We went as a unit the Saturday before Father's Day to celebrate my brother's Birthday. My family of men just LOVE a good steak and are pure carnivores as am I. Soooo.....we are a large group of hungry meat eaters. I can tell you this is the spot if you are anything like my family and worth every penny. The appetizers are spot on, chicken tenders lightly breaded and cooked to perfection, so juicy! They were melt in your mouth delish!
The shrimp appetizers were perfect as well. My advice? Get them all (bacon wrapped, bang bang sweet and the spicy) you cannot go wrong. The jalapeño poppers are better then my own homemade, thickly wrapped in 🥓 and perfect!
Moving on to the main course and experience..... We did make a reservation online and needed to add a couple more to n our number than the online system would allow. I called and Charlie answered and took care of that, he also verified how many Tomahawk steak orders we may need to ensure he would have enough on hand. (Wow!) Seriously ya'll, no one does that anymore! Anyway, back to the most amazing part, the food! There is fresh baked bread and salads served with your dinners, so good. All of our steaks were cooked to perfection, my FIL is very picky and always wants his meat fully dead but still juicy. Charlie and his crew hit the nail on the head.
The Tomahawk steak dinner is experiential and so much more than 'just a steak' you have a choice of crab legs, lobster tail or baked or fried shrimp with this meal. Well worth it! The baked shrimp is butterflied and just melts in your mouth(well it did in mine at least) These are not your little "save a few bucks" shrimp served by most places these days. Jumbo means Jumbo at Jim Dandys!
I ordered the Prime Rib MR. It was perfection, the crust was perfectly seasoned and I have not had better anywhere in WI.
The tritip smoked sandwich was amazing as well. We will most definitely be back many times again and again and again.

Top notch! We drove all the way from Appleton,WI for one of my best friends birthday. I called ahead due to covid to make sure they were open and could take reservations and was greeted by Charlie the owner of the restaurant/bar. We asked if they did anything special for birthdays, and he said "yes whatever you guys want really". After speaking to him, he went to the store, got a bunch of balloons, a pretty plant), and even reserved steaks for us to ensure we had enough for our group of 9. Then we actually get to the venue around 7pm to have Charlie greet us at the door and bring us to our tables where all the birthday gear was preset on the table. Charlie pulled me aside and told me they also decided to get the birthday girl a cake, too. Wait, what?? I have never had a restaurant owner and their staff treat us so special. Well it doesn't stop there. The food was nothing short ofamazing. How cool and unique to be served your plate of food on a giant cutting board. The steak was delicious, the seafood was amazing, our waitress Amanda was friendly and attentive. Seriously, thank you for such a spectacular experience! If anyone is looking for great food, great customer service and a great dining experience all around go to Jim Dandy's you won't be disappointed. 100% worth the 1hr and 45 minute drive!

My family and I have been coming here for years. Friday fish fry is the best in the area in my opinion (qty, type of breading & fish). Other days we get either breakfast, sandwiches or pizza. We've always had good food and service, and no issues with prices. Atmosphere is kind of like a supper club in the dinning room. We miss the fun decorations of old but that's OK because the food has always been the draw. It’s not often we have to wait long either.

Was there for Anniversary party. Had a buffet for us that was Delicious! The atmosphere was also really nice. Had a nice patio, too. Look forward to coming again for a drink and a bite to eat, and visiting with the friendly bartenders!

Food is excellent. The bang bang shrimp are really good and actually have a good kick to them. Burgers and sandwiches are great. Will update when I finally get to try the tomahawk ribeye
