My visit to the Bucyrus Erie Museum was nothing short of fantastic, thanks to our tour guide, Gerry. His knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm made the entire experience truly unforgettable.

Gerry's expertise and storytelling skills brought the history of Bucyrus Erie to life, making each exhibit come alive with fascinating details and anecdotes. He had us amazed by the machinery and entertained with tales of the company's legacy.

Not only was the tour informative, but it was also incredibly engaging. Gerry effortlessly balanced facts with humor, ensuring that everyone in the group was not only learning but genuinely having fun throughout the visit.

I left feeling enlightened, entertained, and with a newfound appreciation for the rich industrial heritage of the company. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an informative and enjoyable outing.

We really enjoyed our ~2 hour visit to this hidden gem of a museum. It’s located in a very nice, newly renovated historical space and has exhibits taking you through the history, employees, and heavy equipment made by the Bucyrus company. One of the museum’s founders who is also a docent and worked for Bucyrus for 39 years, Bob, was kind enough to walk us through the museum and share his own memories and stories. We especially enjoyed the simulator. We loved learning about a company that played a huge part in the construction of the Panama Canal and development of South Milwaukee and would highly recommend!

This is a great museum of Bucyrus Erie surface mining equipment. Interesting displays of company history as well as the mighty machines which Bucyrus designed and manufactured over the last 140 years. Photos, videos, scale model machines, mining shovel operator's simulator and company memorabilia.

For those whose relatives worked at BE, you will enjoy a wonderful exhibit. The space is gorgeous, the artifacts are attractively displayed, the photography and narratives fill in the blanks on the BE story. I got a little teary looking at the log of employees: my grandfather started his career by sweeping floors as a 14 yr old in 1918; my dad was an inspector and helped with quality control on components of some massive pieces. Shout out to the docents who were welcoming and helpful. A worthwhile trip to South Milwaukee.

Very helpful docents that were employees of the company. Great displays with video presentations showing equipment in action. I was able to run the simulation and fill a truck with material.
