Bear Necessities Coffee Bar

We have been meaning to try Bear Necessities for a while now and so glad we finally did! We will be back. Best Cappuccino I’ve had in a while (had the house made spiced brown sugar syrup). I love that they’re sourcing so many local KC vendors as well - Kate Smith, Heirloom, Yoli. We had a breakfast burrito that honestly was enough for two! We will be back - would love to try a cocktail!

This coffee shop is a must stop! The staff is always so friendly. I recently tried the Pumpkin Caramel latte with oat (iced), very delicious!! Highly recommend.

An amazing place. The owner was there and extremely kind and personable, I love a place that has a focus on coffee. You can expect that the drip coffee will not be second rate, but actually dialed and delicious. The shot I had was dialed to perfection, it was great as a shot and would work well in a latte as well. I'm looking forward to stopping by again for the Rosemary Vanilla Latte!

Excellent service and very cute and comfy atmosphere. The outdoor seating is great as well! Their prices are whole dollar, which is super nice. Nice variety of drinks and breakfast food items. We just found this place but will definitely be coming back!

Bear is the best coffee shop in this part of town. Their coffee is from Huckleberry roasters and it’s absolutely delicious, and all of the house made syrups are wonderful. Not up-charging for oat milk is very forward thinking, and they’ve worked the tax into the prices which make cash transactions so easy. Every one of the baristas is so friendly and it’s a wonderful community of people. Stay and hang out a while!

Stopped by to meet a friend for coffee and absolutely fell in love with this place! The staff and other customers were so friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations on what to order. The lavender syrup and orange vanilla syrup are delicious. Also had the sausage breakfast burrito which was good too. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Easily this is a five star coffee shop. The owner was working the coffee bar when I came in. He was super friendly and gracious. The atmosphere of this place is perfect and it’s located in a great area. Awesome drink and food options. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I found this coffee shop while on a caffeine crawl over a year ago and have been coming back ever since! I make a point to support local coffee shops whenever I can and this is one of my favorites in the OP area. The baristas are always super nice, the atmosphere is cozy and calm and the coffee is delicious. Plus they make all of their syrups in house from scratch! I haven’t been to any events yet, but I hear they plan on doing multiple fun things for our community which I also love!

What a delightful little nook! Family and locally owned. Homemade syrups! I got an iced vanilla lavender latte made with oat milk. Quiet, chill, cool and comfortable. I’ll come back whenever I’m in the area!

My Liquid Luck cocktail and maple pecan scone hit the spot. This is a great little spot to catch up with friends. I really enjoyed the live music today!

Great people and amazing coffee in a cozy setting. Definitely going to be part of my daily routine. The Bourbon Vanilla Latte and Lavender Latte are my favorites so far. Not too sweet, very smooth, and perfect temperature!

Such a sweet little place! Highly recommend the spiced brown sugar syrup! Soooo yummy. Friendly staff, lovely open space. Love the mural on the back wall. Very cute!

What a wonderful coffee shop with a convenient location in Overland Park. Small drink menu, with a smattering of pastries from Heirloom & Heath. Also offering a small selection of beers, wine, and three cocktails. I had an iced coffee with homemade rosemary vanilla syrup. YUM! I also tried a peach pop tart which was to die for! Cozy meeting place for coffee or drinks. Will definitely be back and looking forward to tasting more!

Super cute place! I usually don’t get anything other than sugar free syrups bc they’re usually way too sweet, but their homemade ones were so perfect! I had pumpkin caramel coffee and it was delightful.

Coffee prices are so reasonable and there’s no upcharge for oat milk! Plus the baristas are super nice and helpful and their pastries are really good. Love the various flavored syrups

Came in not sure what I wanted but knowing I enjoy fall flavors, i went with the barista suggestion and WOW! Fast service. Wonderful drink. 10/10. I didn’t feel pressured to know what I wanted as soon as I got to the register unlike other coffee shops. Highly recommend Bear 🐻

When I found out that Spencer had opened his own Coffee Shop, I soon made the trip there! A great place, great vibe and he still makes the best Flat White in OP! This will be our regular weekend hangout.

Best coffee in town!! I’m a fan of huckleberry coffee from Colorado and love that they carry such a yummy (and hard to find outside of CO!) coffee of choice! They also don’t charge for oat milk!!! The oat milk is delicious! Housemade flavors for lattes are also amazing. I love that they have a GF muffin option in their pastry lineup to accommodate my dietary restrictions (it’s so dang good). Spencer and Josh have served me when I visit and I have nothing but good things to say about them! Both are incredibly welcoming and awesome baristas. Highly recommend!

Coffee and pastries were great. It was not too crowded when we visited, great place to sit and chat.

It's clear the owner of this shop puts a great deal of care into the quality of coffee that is served. If you are a fan of espresso shots made with great beans, this is the spot for you. Both shots I've had have been delicious and complex. The milk drink we ordered was awesome as well; the house made syrups add just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable, helping me pick out a bag of beans with a flavor profile that was well suited to my tastes.

I'm looking forward to coming back in the future!
