1890 Event Space

We absolutely loved our wedding experience with 1890! Grace and Paula specifically were very appreciated in helping us coordinate every part of our day and they always welcomed and made time for any questions that we had. The space was beautiful and we appreciated the dedication of the whole team to make our day run smoothly. I'm so glad we chose this venue!

1890 was truly our dream venue. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. From having our rehearsal there the night before and staying the night to the best reception. Paula and the staff were amazing to work with and so accommodating! I would highly recommend having your wedding at 1890.

Absolutely perfect! We chose Eighteen Ninety because the venue had all that we needed for our entire day, from getting ready, outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour and a beautiful indoor reception space.The victorian house is beautiful, and has a vintage charm. The men had a separate space with a pool table & tv and room to get ready. My fiancé and I were trying to plan our KC wedding from Seattle & 1890 covered all our bases without making us rent tables chairs linens. We loved having multiple spaces for guests to enjoy the wedding. It hailed and rained on our wedding day & Grace made sure we had a game plan if it didn’t stop. We ultimately had the opportunity to get married outside. The staff quickly cleaned up the chairs, removed all the leaves. The space was perfect but even if we would’ve had it indoors it would’ve been beautiful. It was a great option for older guests to be able to walk a few feet to each location rather than needing to shuttle or drive between venue spaces. My favorite new addition is their beautiful barn bar. The bar is separate from the indoor space and allowed for the less rowdy guests to sit down away from loud music while we got rowdy inside.

Their service and team were always accessible, understanding and INCREDIBLY helpful. The team also worked with me by scheduling video calls since I was an out-of-town bride. Grace was communicative and incredibly helpful while making decisions.
I loved every moment of my wedding and I am so grateful to have worked with the 1890 team to have had the perfect day.

First off, I want to say Paula is absolutely amazing and the sweetest. She's so easy to communicate with and has always been quick with response. Meeting her for the first time, I knew I wanted to have my wedding at her venue she never tried to sell me on why she's the best.

The venue itself, beautiful! I cannot say enough, I am so glad I chose the venue and the grounds are kept up so well.

One of the disadvantages I had was communicating with the venue manager. She insist that if I had any questions to go through her instead of Paula. I remember requesting for some venue information and never heard from her so I went straight to Paula instead.

Overall our wedding day went smoothly and beautifully. They had such an amazing clean up crew at the end of the night, they were quick to clean up!

We just had 120 of our closest friends and family for my wedding at 1890 Event Space at the end of April 2023. It was such an awesome experience working with 1890. Grace and Paula were wonderful and took care of literally everything. Our entire wedding party was able to have our rehearsal dinner on property the night before. The bridesmaids stayed in the house the night before the wedding and loved the experience. Everyone that was there, both the night before and the day of the wedding, praised the event venue and mentioned how nice the property and setup was. Thank you 1890 for giving this old but new couple a day in our lives we will always cherish!

Stunning venue with incredible service! We chose Eighteen Ninety because the venue was a one-stop shop for our entire day, from getting ready to the reception, and each space was amazing on its own. The victorian house is sooo beautiful with unmatched charm and it has ample getting ready space for the ladies. The dudes aren't left out; they had an awesome groom's quarters where they played pool and Mario Kart. No other venue we toured provided the same level of space to get ready, on top of the other spaces included. It was important to me to have an outdoor ceremony space, and I love Eighteen Ninety's, with an aisle leading from the house to the arbor. The elegant reception hall is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the ceremony space, making a great backup plan in case of poor weather. We love how no one had to shuttle around to different locations between photo spots, ceremony, and reception. Regarding the beauty of their venue, I mean the photos speak for themselves.

Their service and team are top-notch. When we chose to postpone, I dreaded reaching out to my vendors about rescheduling. Eighteen Ninety completely understood and made it easy. I was very lucky in that I managed to keep all my vendors for our rescheduled date. The team also worked with me in scheduling on-site meetings and video calls since I was an out-of-town bride. Katie was communicative and patient with me as a made decisions. Our guest count was less than expected given a recent spike in COVID cases, and Katie worked with me to edit the floor plan last minute. Weddings are their bread and butter and it shows with the team's knowledge and expertise. They are not wedding planners nor day-of coordinators, but at the same time, they are there to help and assist.

Eighteen Ninety is the BEST venue in the KC metro if you’re looking for a venue that has it ALL! I researched almost 30 venues and the second I toured 1890, I knew I had to get married there. They have a huge bridal house that allow for beautiful pictures, a separate groom’s suite that’s fun for the guys, an outdoor AND indoor space, and an AMAZING team. As a Type A bride, I had so many questions and needed a lot of flexibility from 1890 because of covid-19, and they were so fabulous to work with! They were so accommodating and sweet to me as I stressed so much about having to change our date. You can tell Paula really loves her venue and her brides even more, and Katie was super helpful in making sure all the details were recorded and taken care of. The indoor venue hall is beautifully modern and traditional at the same time, allowing flexibility for your vision. I love all their details - the decorated bar, the fireplace in the wall, the back patio for smokers and a fireplace out there, the outdoor bar that’s perfect for an outdoor cocktail hour - nothing else has blown me away more than 1890. I still have people (almost 6 months after my wedding!) who tell me how amazing my venue was and how much they love it. I don’t regret a SINGLE thing about booking 1890 for the best day of my life, and I will sing their praises forever! If you’re on the fence, book a tour. I PROMISE you will not regret it!

Speaking as a wedding photographer who works at many many venues, this is one of my absolute FAVORITE places! The whole venue is gorgeous and has beautiful wildflowers at certain points during the year (these photos were from August). Also, the dreamiest view of the sunset.
The staff is so so nice, LOVE the historic feel in the house and the clean whites of the venue. One thing many people don't think about when choosing a venue is how the colors inside will impact your wedding photos, because why would you you're not a photographer lol but a venue with white walls will give you a crisp, clean feel in your photos. As opposed to a barn with wood where the photos will have a yellow tint and rustic feel.
Overall, Eighteen Ninety is such a gem. Especially if a barn wedding is not your thing. Have your wedding at Eighteen Ninety! ❤

Absolutely stunning grounds. I officiated a wedding here and the whole area is beautiful, the house was large and stoic. The grooms dressing room was fun and spacious. It had a tv and a pool table for entertainment. The cocktail hour had its own bar and restroom area. The reception hall got a little warm but it’s the middle of summer and we had it packed! 5/5 wedding cakes!

Let me start by saying I love Paula (owner) so so much! She is kindest warmest sweetest person you will ever meet. Her and all the staff at 1890 went above and beyond to make sure my wedding day was perfect! If I could give this venue 10 stars I would. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff are wonderful! I couldn’t have pictured my wedding being anywhere else!

I’ve been to a few weddings and events here and it’s always a wonderful experience. The staff is super attentive, and the owner is SO helpful. Everyone works hard to make sure things go smoothly. But oh my God the scenery; the house is absolutely gorgeous and there are stunning, picturesque views at every turn. I love it here.

We had such a great experience with 1890 during our special day. They were very professional throughout the entire process and helped everything run smoothly. We were able to customize our experience down to the smallest details in order to have a perfect wedding. We are so thankful to have had our wedding at such a beautiful venue. Beautiful place & friendly people! They made it super easy to plan a wedding there. Chelsea was sooo helpful at the Rehearsal and on the wedding day. Nothing would have gone smoothly if it weren't for her and the other staff members that helped set up! We will forever cherish having our wedding at Eighteen Ninety. Would HIGHLY recommend!

The most beautiful venue ever!! You cannot find a better venue in KC. We had 300 people, plus two bars and there was plenty of space. The staff is a pleasure to work with and made the day/wedding planning process so smooth! Many of my guest commented on how conveninet it was to have my ceremony and reception all in the same place. As a Bride, being able to get ready in the house on the property was also very convenient, not to mention, made for some gorgeous photos! Also, they were very accomadating to help with rescheduling because of COVID. I would highly recommend 1890 to anyone and everyone!!

Beautiful place for my brother's wedding. Staff were great, friendly, and on top of things. Facility is super clean and easy to access.

Very romantic and beautiful venue. I was in a wedding here recently and it was perfect. It was raining all morning and the staff was so nice and accommodating. They allowed the bride to dictate whether we would move the ceremony inside or not. We kept it outside and it was wonderful. They had to wipe the chairs down twice because of the rain! I would highly recommend. I am married already, otherwise I would for sure look into using this space. Large reception area and separate "getting ready" areas for bride and groom. The house is beautiful also.

OMG! I love 1890 Event Space! As a Wedding Officiant I have seen so many Wedding Venues, but 1890 Event Space is one of my all time favorite outdoor venue spaces! As soon as you pull onto the property you just feel warm and cozy! It’s a sense of magic in the air. I love the owner Paula, she’s the best! I recommend them without hesitation.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. The Victorian home with a bridal suite overlooking the outdoor ceremony space. What more could you want? Well, they have a reception space right next door. We recently had our son’s wedding rehearsals dinner at The Fields at 1890 & it was wonderful! From the time we called to inquire, to the clean up of the event, the staff was very courteous & helpful! Grace & Paula were terrific & I would recommend 1890 to anyone!
