Lyman Cafe

A great local place that has a lunch and dinner buffet and also a menu selection for breakfast (I think breakfast is the only one they dont offer a buffet on), lunch and dinner foods. The food is incredible and better than any national chain for breakfast or anything else. The prices are great and the food is cooked perfectly. So far I've only had the breakfast which was perfectly cooked bacon which was crisp, perfect sausage and well really everything. The hashbrowns and eggs were also cooked perfect and most importantly the grits were which is great because grits which I love are either wrong or right there is no in between. I will be trying their other foods both from the menu and looking very forward to trying the lunch and dinner buffet! If it was up to me I'd want to eat here 3 times a day, everyday.

The crabs were fabulous! Out waitress, Michele, said people said they were better than the coast. My granddaughter said they were very good! The mac and cheese was really good. The salad was cold and crisp. The buffet included: trout, cat fish, shrimp fried, steamed shrimp, and collards, fried zucchini, scallops, mashed potatoes and more.
Definitely a restaurant we'll go back to.

The food was real good and they have a buffet on Friday & Saturday all you can eat crab legs and they have other food too with a buffet.

Lyman Café has very delicious food!!! I was on a business trip in Greer for 2 days and ate both days here for lunch. I've never been a fan of grits but the Grits n Shrimp OMG they were very delicious.... Everything on the Buffet bar was excellent. I travel the 48 states for work and the place is definitely on my top 3 places for Southern Country Food!!! Must try this place. They also do To Go Buffet and this place is also Trucker Friendly. They have a great Chef Omar!

1st time great place busy but great buffet Sunday

Caught a later dinner here going in at 8:10 pm last Thursday. They closed at 9:30 pm. There were still a few people in there eating as we went in. We ordered the buffet with tea. The buffet was " winding down " but still had some good choices left to eat. I had the fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy with some good vegetable choices. My girlfriend got a vegetable plate with a salad. We both found the food was hot and delicious. My chicken was crispy and moist. Very good. The waitress was very nice and heated our cornbread and rolls for us. She was very attentive to our needs. Buffet price was reasonable too. Experience was very enjoyable and we will be going back. This restaurant has been in Lyman for quite a number of years and it has maintained its nostalgic atmosphere, which I like. Good home cooking.

Delicious food. Great service. There's a buffet and a menu so you have a choice. Menu is online. Buffet has fried chicken, greens, macaroni, salad, and a lot more to choose from plus a small selection of desserts. Also you can get take out from the buffet for a set price instead of weighing the box. Highly recommended restaurant. I'll be going back.

The food here is great, breakfast and lunch both. We normally get the buffets to go and trust and believe, the cooks know their stuff. One of my favorite places to get a good home cooked meal, seasoned to perfection. The owner seems to have some sort of unknown issues though, which is noticed as soon as you see him.. I am not sure if he tries to be intimidating or what, but he definitely has something going on. You would think that an owner would greet his customers, and try to be a little friendlier, instead he will look at you and look away or pick his head up and put it back down.. That is the only bad thing about this place .However, we just get our food to go, sometimes just sitting in the parking lot to eat. We feel more comfortable not dining in, due to his rudeness. This is not just my opinion, so many co workers of mine and town people have said the same thing. Don't take my word for it, go inside and see for yourself..I am certain you will enjoy the good food. Thanks Lyman cafe cooks, you all do a fantastic job. Also not sure the lady's name that works 1st shift ..long brown hair pulled back in a pony tail, she normally checks me out during breakfast hours but she is just as sweet as anyone could be..Makes me feel welcomed upon entering

We ate here for the first time today, and will definitely be back! Totally worth the 30 minute drive. You can tell that the owners have worked hard at keeping everything clean and updated. Even the small foyer was immaculate. The food was absolutely delicious. I would drive 30 minutes for the mac and cheese alone! The buffet had a nice assortment of meats, carbs and veggies, as well as desserts. You simply can't go wrong with the buffet.
Service was exceptional. Waitress was attentive and kind, and everyone was really friendly.

Lots of great items to choose from. Not over seasoned and had all the great flavor of country cooking. The fish was breaded and fried to crispy perfection. Grits was so creamy and buttery. Ribs had lots of sauce and tender. My bowl of collards and pintos with cornbread was a meal in itself. Put a little fresh white onion and a couple drops of pepper vinegar in that bowl. Good golly Its good yall! Great food and service!

Love this place. Food has always been good. The staff is very friendly. I tried to get by there when i fly into town. Boy are my arms tired. Good breakfast, lunch and dinners. But, today is a sad day. Since Ollie has left this earth. His wife Dana has been doing an awesome job running the restaurant. Today is their final day of the restaurant. I will miss this place. Salute to the many years they have taken care of me. So long my friends....

Excellent service. My wife and I went there with friends and everything was perfect the food tasted excellent, staff was so polite, we did not have to wait to be seated. I imagine at times we would have to wait as they probably get very busy. Crablegs tasted great and they brought them out hot soon after we finished the prior plate. We will be going back! Michelle was our waitress and we loved her, she normally works day shift but says she works evenings at times, hoping she is there next time we go.

I went this weekend with my mom and my family for the seafood buffet. My mother ate a bunch of seafood. I don't eat seafood but they talked me into eating the fried fish on the bar. It was lovely. Now the baked chicken was amazingly seasoned. I was very happy with everything. Even the service was lovely and they were packed.

The waitress was amazing. The only thing they need to let you know is you can not use your birthday or the half off coupon on the crab leg buffet. Other than that is was great. Thanks for the great food and best customer service.

Celebrated my birthday at Lyman Cafe on Saturday with my son and daughter in law. The food was tasty and delicious. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. And I couldn’t have asked for better. Can’t hardly wait to go back. Yummy yummy!

My wife and I just had a chance to try the Sunday buffet and were blown away! Everything was hot and fresh and tasted fantastic. Service was quick too, even though they were supposedly short staffed. Go!

Love the family atmosphere and the food is great..I am normally not a big fried fish fan but their fried fish off the buffet is out of this world. 5 stars

We go every Saturday morning for the buffet, it has all our favorites and they served it deliciously. The staff is super friendly. Also we have done the all you can eat crab , simply the best.

The food is excellent you got to consider the pretty women that they have working there especially the owner she's beautiful she has a beautiful heart she makes beautiful food they've been in business for as long as I can remember you'll never be disappointed when you go there
