Runway Park at GMU

My kiddos love this park. We love to get lunch at the runaway cafe and sometimes we bring our own picnic with us. We love watching the planes come in and leave. It is great for all ages and kiddos can ride scooters or bikes around the park which is all enclosed for safety. There is a put-put place across the street too if you are looking for a whole day of events :).

We love coming here to play! There’s mini golf, a restaurant, plenty of tables for a picnic, a playground for toddlers and a playground for older kids, the public bathrooms are kept clean and the best part… getting to watch all the airplanes take off and land! Our favorite park in the Greenville area by far!

Great park. Lots of nice play equipment and open space. With the added bonus of watching airplanes takeoff and land.

Very cool spot for kids and adults alike. Great playground. Good restaurant. Really fun to watch the planes take off and land. And there's even mini golf (though we did not check that out). Would definitely recommend checking it out and we will be back soon!

Gated, making it safer than other parks. Lots of picnic tables under shelter area. Restroom facilities. Cafe next door and mini golf, too.

Great little park for aviation enthusiasts! You can watch planes takeoff and land, and there's a restaurant Runway Cafe right next door. Plus a few times a year there's a fly-in with WWII planes

Took the Grands and they love it. Safe environment and lots to do besides if you need to rest, lots of benches, picnic tables to watch the planes.

If you are looking for a great spot to take the kids, check this place out. Watch the planes take off and land. Indoor and outdoor seating, and a playground. Typical cafe options burgers, chicken fingers and fries.

Great idea especially the runway looks real lol safe for kids since it’s gated.

What a great park! There is a gate and a short track to walk around while your kid is playing or if you wanted to bring their bike to ride on. My LO Enjoyed watching all the planes as well as running around the different playgrounds.

Great little park. They have two different play areas for different ages. A large covered area with picnic tables. Decent parking lot with good space. A little trail inside the play area for kids bikes or remote control cars. Oh yeah and you are right of the actual runway so great plane watching of lands and take offs. Also had the runway cafe next door for a great little lunch.

Great playground and picnic areas. It can get pretty hot in the summer sun, but the picnic tables and a couple benches are in the shade. Kids can watch the planes take off and land, and the playground has a mini runway that is perfect for kids to ride bikes and scooters.

Amazing park with lots of activities for small and big kids. I love the bike Runway track. The kids love seeing the planes land and takeoff. Nice size for having lunch and benches to watch your kids play.

It's the coolest park ever! My kids loved watching planes and playgrounds. Kids bike trail wraps around the entire park.

We are from Columbia, SC and live 5 minutes from the airport. My boys LOVE planes, but there aren't a whole lot of good places to watch them take off or land at CAE. On our way back from a mountain trip we stopped here. It was a busy place on a Sunday afternoon, but my 5 and 7 year old had a blast and we saw at least 5 planes in only 30 minutes time. Super cute playground equipment and nice picnic tables. There is a big covered shelter but it was rented out for a birthday. There is also a restaurant connected to the park and a mini golf place, but golf was closed when we were there. The whole park is fenced in and there's a walking trail around the whole thing....great for moms or dads wanting to get in a run while kids play. Some kids were also riding bikes. My kids loved it and want to go back. I wish Columbia would build a fantastic park like this!!!!

This is such a great park, especially for little ones interested in (obsessed with) airplanes. We celebrated my son’s second birthday here. We didn’t rent the picnic shelter, but just set up at one of the tables around the track. The kiddos had a blast.

Very neat park for children! One park for 2-5 years olds and one park for 5-12 year olds and plenty of seating with shade. Cool to see the planes land/take off.

Awesome place to go with kids and watch the planes take-off & land. Some pilots will even wave to the little ones which is cute. Playground is decent, but the setup with the little runway and facts about aviation make it a great experience.
