Fort Hill Cemetery(South)

Nice place to be left to think alone ,or with family. Also, to celebrate your lost loved ones, or pay respect to the deceased.

Remarkable Place!

Absolutely horrible. Not taken care of, even though it’s a perpetual care cemetery. Trash everywhere, it’s never mowed, and homeless people live there on the roads all the time. Call the Fort Hill phone number and they will never answer or return your calls. Shameful!

No stars: This cemetery has very little upkeep and there is no way to get hold of the people in charge. Lots of damage has been done to peoples graves here and the flowers actually get stolen off graves. I have several relatives buried here and 80% of the time I have to go and clean off the weeds on their graves. The roads thru the cemetery are almost impassable gravel paths full of ruts and weeds. The historical side (East side) is kept up but the west side is not. Just wish there was a way to get the owners to care about this place.

I rated this low only because I cannot find readily available information/history of Fort Hill. I find the cemetery very interesting and want to know more. When I Google it I can only find a list of board or whatever names. Unless it's because I need a "sign in" member thing this site is useless.

Joe V. Williams & the City own this cemetery. It is in horrible condition with trash, not being mowed, and gravestones broken and turned over. I give it 0 stars. Please don’t bury your loved ones here. I wouldn’t bury my dog here. Contact DA, Steve Crump if you want to leave a complaint.
