I live on the east side of Greenville and visit McPherson Park just about every day. It's the best way to access the downtown area imo. I always find free parking here, even when big downtown events are in full swing. It's about a 10 minute walk from the park to NOMA Square, about 20 minutes to Falls Park.

McPherson Park is a nice destination in itself. The bathroom is clean, the trails (although short) are enjoyable, and there are plenty of amenities, including a playground, picnic shelters, a mini golf course, and a tennis court. The last two are very popular.

The park feels safe at night, and the fireflies are a treat in the summer months.

Those looking for a water spigot will find one around the back of the log cabin. Not sure why there isn't one closer to the bathroom or picnic shelters.

Great place to spend some time with family and friends. There is a free 18 hole mini golf course. All you need to do is bring your own putters and golf balls.

What's not to like? The entire park is very well taken care of and just charming. The train that rain through the park in the 50s has been replaced with a free putt-putt course. I haven't played, so I'm unsure if you need to bring your own putter and ball. Walking paths with benches, tennis courts, picnic shelters with tables, public restrooms, close parking, even a free book exchange. On the walking trails several small bridges cross over from what I've read is an unnamed creek. If it is unnamed, can I claim it? Dibs! I name thee body of water - Jeff Creek. The stone and concrete foot entrance with the cannons and National Register of Historic Places plaque looks amazing. I've been trying to track down and get a picture of all the available NRofHP bronze markers in Greenville. McPherson Park's plaque is displayed the grandest of any I've seen so far. The marker is prominently mounted on a stone podium centered between two cannons. It's the Frank Howard's Rock of landmark medallions!

This park is by far one of the coolest city parks I’ve found in Greenville so far. The public minigolf course was recently renovated and looks fantastic. Located right on the outskirts of downtown off Academy, it’s a nice little hidden gem of a park with plenty of shade in the summer.

I was visiting and needed a place to run with my husband and girls. McPherson Park was walking distance from our hotel. The trail was not long however we made it work. There is a lot to do there with mini gulf, tennis courts, a park and the landscape was nice to. Nice little spot!

Believe it or not, we've lived in Greenville County since 1994 and have never been to this mini golf course. I understand they updated it in recent years. It's very nice. Bring your own putter and balls and have in mind a way to keep score. (We used the skins method but you could print out a score sheet before going or find an app.) Obstacles are made of natural things like rocks and the landscaping is pretty. The park sits in a valley so you get the feel of a growing city around it. Fun.

This shady oasis in the midst of busy Greenville downtown is a real gem, with short but very beautiful trail along park’s south border, ample parking space, tennis court, playground, mini-golf, restrooms and a couple of pavilions for events. Huge tulip poplars are spectacular, and ivy is engulfing the slopes. Squirrels, chipmunks and birds abound. Came across it by just following Main Street north and were pleasantly surprised.

This is one of Greenville's hidden gems! You'll need to bring your own putter and ball, but there's a free 18 hole miniature golf course. Also, tucked away in the back corner along the creek is a kid's obstacle course playground.

You can play putt putt (bring own clubs) and they have horseshoe pits (with horseshoes). It's really pretty cost is 3$ a day not sure how much the campsites are.

This park is beautiful! Love all the big trees. We brought a golf club and ball and played a (free) round of putt putt.

Nice and quiet. Seems like they took away alot of playground equipment over the past 20 years. The creek water running is nice and relaxing. The added a putt-putt golf course.

Quite small park near the Bonsecur Arena in Greenville. Short walking path, tennis court. Good stop to clear your head.

We went on a Friday morning when visiting Greenville this year in early to mid August. Schools in SC had already started up, so there was virtually no one else at the park and we had run of the free mini course all to ourselves. The course is super nice, especially for being free.

We played an entire round, then took our daughter to the playground right next to mini golf. My son and brother played another entire round of golf.

There are also tennis courts here as well as some walking paths and also picnic areas with BBQs.

We'll go back for another round of mini golf before we head back home.

We stopped by CVS, grabbed a $7.50 children's golf package, and set out for the park! They usually have clubs and balls at the park, but unfortunately covid makes things slightly more inconvenient... The mini golf course was actually a lot of fun and well designed with different obstacles. Definitely worth more than the price! (It's freeeeee). Additionally, it's well maintained and nicely lit at night.

It's a beautiful area in the middle of the city, definitely unexpected natural water features. Theres a free putt putt course (I recommend bringing your own putter and ball) and beautiful little walking trail. After walking the trails alongside a small creek and water features we found a second playground section. Even nicer than the main one in the front of the park.
UPDATE: parking lots has been greatly improved. The first time I visited the parking spaces were red clay ground, it had recently rained and I remember slipping and falling on my bum in muddy red clay.
Now it has a rubber mat like thing with gridlock holes and filled in with rocks. The rubber mat is used to hold the rocks in place during heavy rains and tires rolling.
Thank you Greenville rec. This is an amazing and underappreciated community park. Truly beautiful
