Their table-top grow kits are incredible! Had the most beautiful batch of oyster mushrooms in just over a week with zero effort. The instructions were super clear and also included pictures and a link to a video. Plus they have different ways to reach out with any issues, so I felt super informed and supported. I can’t wait to get all the different varieties. Highly recommend! (They also post very informative and interesting videos on social media that are so fun to follow to de-mystify the mushroom growing process.)

First off, let me say that I’ve used Field and Forest for personal and commercial uses since 2016, so that should say something about my views on the company. They provide a consistently reliable product and they get the product out rapidly. Specifically, I purchase the company’s grain and sawdust spawn. I’ve purchased from multiple other vendors over the years, and Field and Forest have always provided the best product, bar none. In fact, I have never once been given defective grain or sawdust spawn from these folks and I’ve probably purchased at least 50 spawn blocks. I would understand if one or 2 go bad in transit (it’s happened to me with all the other major spawn providers advertised on Google) but no. No bad blocks to date. That should say something as well. Also, Field and Forest provides some of the most cost effective products on the market. So 4 for 4 thus far.

But that’s not all I wish to share. The true testament of a company isn’t necessarily when things go right, but when they go wrong. All companies will mess-up, it’s inevitable. How a company responds to the mess-up is the important thing. Recently I experienced my first issue with an order from Field and Forest. I reached out on Sunday and by Monday morning, I had received a response and a resolution that exceeded my expectations. Field and Forest owned up to the issue and fixed it without question. This company cares about its reputation and its customer base. That’s a big thing to me, perhaps as important as the 4 big compliments I paid previously. As such, I’ll keep doing business with Field and Forest as long as I’m in mushroom cultivation. A Big 5 out of 5. Keep up the great work.

No one does it better. You simply cannot find the level of customer service provided here anywhere else. The products work (even if some patience and troubleshooting may be a part of the process- it's a living product after all), the staff is friendly and insanely knowledgeable, and they have great prices. My Shiitake logs are still cranking several years later.

It was so easy! Left it in the fridge until we wanted them to start growing, made a cut like the instructions said and now waiting and watching! Ah it's so exciting

I wanted to give a special shout-out to Field and Forest! I had the worst experience with North spore and their customer service after receiving 3 bags over 2 months. “It took them a month each time to get me the product”. And their solution was to send more contaminated grain then blame it one me. but Field and forest not only got me what I needed in the mail the next day but they were actually friendly and fun to speak with.
If you need cultures, or anything to get some grow blocks going or get your own blocks they are the absolute best on the market 🙏

This place is still being run like a real business. I ordered for the first time and there was some confusion. I left a voicemail cause they were closed on the weekend even before Christmas which is great for their employees. On Monday I received a phone call from a real human . He not only addressed my confusion and assured me my order was correct and on its way he got me cheaper shipping and refunded the difference. It is very difficult these days to not use Amazon or Big Box stores but we have been doing it for 2 years . Companies like this give me faith that I am doing the right thing. Thanks again !

Rejoice ye mycophiles. For years I bought home mushroom growing kits from Fungi Perfecti. But they stopped selling home kits a while back.
Let me introduce you to Field and Forest Products from Peshtigo, Wisconsin. This is a family business of three decades. They understand the importance of rot. Rot is good!
I recently ordered a couple of home growing mushroom kits. One Hericium and one shiitake, just to give them a try. These kits are on sale right now, so now's the time to give it a try. Shipping is high for one kit, ordering two is more practical.
They also carry plug spawn, sawdust spawn and tools and advice on how to started. Every mushroom you would want to try from 12 types of shiitakes, to a myriad of oysters, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, lion's mane.
Table top kits (like I have) have choices of oyster, shiitake, chestnut mushrooms, reishi and lion's mane.
But how do these kits grow? We ended up feasting on gourmet mushrooms

Just started my mushroom farm and bought quite a bit of spawn (for me anyway) and some other tools/supplies. So far everything looks perfect and the instructions/documentation/etc. was all much better than expected. Just bought some more spawn and tags and have been cutting logs all weekend. Excited to see some fruit this fall and next year!

Great place. Very knowledgeable and helpful. If you want to learn about growing mushrooms, they will definitely help you out. They will explain the process and have all the supplies. Will definitely be going back.

I planted my Room garden in mid may. I started getting flushes in August.I have gotten about 6 generous flushes, That does not include the ones i did not harvest to go to "seed"My cost was very minimal.I am a gardener so I already had aged straw. I also wood work so i used chips and straw mixture.My room garden is is the center of a triangle made by 3 adult shrubs. Some filtered light coming thru.I could not be happier, John
