We had a great time visiting this state park for the weekend. The downpour our first night resulted in a high muddy river but that didn’t stop us from trying to fish and enjoying a bike ride. Love the boardwalk trail into town! The mission visit provided a nice history lesson for us. Easy walk or bike to Presidio down the street. We learned so much about Texas history. Goliad is a cute little town just a mile away with shops and restaurants. Definitely bring your bikes to this state park!

We Parked in site 11. The sites are on a loop and all are pull thrus. Easy parking with a tow vehicle and a Renegade 38. Full hook ups. Nice park. Lots of history, monuments & museums near by. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and standard park grill. Goliad is literally a mile away. Very smallinteresting downtown square. Hanging tree in the square.
Blue Quail Restaurant (featured on (Texas Bucket List) Jalapeos Soup - $27.50 - a quart. Yes, its that good. We had AT&T service but only 2-3mbsdeployed the Starlink..75mbs. We camped at Goliad State Park in a Motorhome

A great state park. I really enjoyed my time here. The campground near the entrance looks very good with lots of pull through sites that appear to be very good for large motorhomes.

Many cultures, one Texas. Visiting this historic site is worth a visit when in the area. Learn about the native Americans, Spanish explorers and missionaries in southeast Texas. It’s a small park and learned tons of facts on our visit. If anything it’s a great place to take pictures.

Fun camping trip. Especially when the sweet town has its market days. Lots of places to explore and a beautiful park to walk, ride bikes and relax.

Great camping area, not crowded. With lot if history. Original building was founded 1730, then abandoned and restored in 1930th.

Beautiful park with lots to do! The park workers were very friendly & informative. The bathrooms were like any typical state park bathroom. Bugs are in there of course, but the restrooms are decently clean. The RV sites were easy to get into with lots of space.

We spent a good bit of time touring the Mission Espiritu Santo and the Presidio del Bhai one mile away. Both play pivotal roles in Texas history, especially the war for Independence. The Presidio is the site of the infamous massacre of 342 Texas prisoners of war, 40 of them (such as Col Fannin) too wounded to walk. This event happened weeks before the decisive victory over the Mexican Army at San Jacinto, TX. You view the restored 250 year old church that is still used for mass. On one rampart there is the cannon that Fannin buried to keep it from the Mexican Army. So much history and tragedy at this site!

What a great state park! Based around the historic mission and other historic structures. You are able walk in short distance the mission, the river, the Presidio bahia, Fannin memorial, and birthday place of Zaragoza and the small town of Goliad. Good space between sites.

Only showed up for the day, beautiful place for a hike. Only downside was it had been raining recently so the river-side trail was far too muddy to go all the way. The other smaller trail was still good to explore, however. Make sure you keep track of the weather if you are coming.

This is a beautiful park. It's a great place to learn about Texas history. The Mission Espíritu Santo and attached museum are worth walking through to learn about the Native Americans, Spanish Explorers, Missionaries, Texian Soldiers, and Settlers that walked this area. The park staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Great stop and well preserved.
Catholicism's tone as it keeps things in perspective. Good job Texas SP!

What a great state park! This is a state park based around the historic mission and other historic structures. I love that there are very good bike/walking trails that enable you to reach the mission, the river, the Presidio, and the small town of Goliad, all from the campground in very manageable bike rides. The campground is well laid out - all sites are pull through, and each site is very roomy. Good space between sites. I'm not a history buff at all, so the park was a very pleasant surprise.

Awesome park with lots of history. Staff is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I recommend doing the tour vs just exploring, you get a lot of rich information on the site. Camper site was mostly level and had sewer hookup as well.

Used the group hall for a memorial celebration for my late aunt.
The hall was spacious, with a equipped kitchen, bar, and attached separate men's and women's room.
The Wall to wall tinted window provided ample natural lighting while also allowing external privacy.
There was a large fire pit surrounded by bench seating close by.

Could definitely see this location being used for various other activities. Small wedding receptions, parties, family reunions etc.

The thing I was not crazy about was the proximity of the other visitors boondocking to our rented space.
Attempting to have a private family event, wasnt so private when rvers are parked right outside the entrance to the building as well as beginning the hiking trail was a few feet from the building, so it also felt kind of exposed to passerbys.

All in all I loved the location, the price and the inclusion of the hall to nature.
Would definitely recommend

DO NOT miss this stop!!! On Saturday there is a tour that is a MUST do. So much history that I didn't know, beautiful mission and friendly rangers. So happy we decided to visit, also make sure you visit the Presidio, Fannins Monument and Angel of Goliad Statue. If you love history, you will love this place!
