The gentleman at the front desk is a great historian. I enjoyed learning about the presidio and all the flags that have flown over this area. There is a privately owned gift shop across the street that was run by a very nice lady who is also very knowledgeable about the area and the history.

Went with a school field trip, LOVED it. There were folks really demonstrating TX history, not just lecturing about it. It was a fun stop.
