Mino’s

Here’s what you need to know: the food is safe - enjoyable but the flavor’s won’t linger in your mind after a few days. However, what sets this place apart and makes for a 5 star experiment is the service and ambiance.

I cannot say enough good things about the management - led by Steve - and his team (shout out to Jesus) who are so charming and warm and welcoming and guest focused that they make you love your time at Mino’s. Also, that patio experience in summer and fall is just unbeatable. Possibly in the best patio casual atmospheres in the Chicagoland. Huge kudos to Steve and team for providing such gracious service and making guests have an amazing time, every visit of ours.

We had the Vongole (great the first time but a bit off on our second visit but still enjoyable) and octopus (very well cooked)

Pricing was competitive and fair for the area. Our bill was about $40-$50/person for food at dinner. Not including drinks.

If you want an amazing steak, this is the place! Steak at an Italian restaurant you ask? Yes. They have a dry aged tomahawk steak this is to die for. Mind you it is expensive, but so worth it. It’s huge and when we go as a couple we get it plus a few sides. It is also great for a larger group because then you have room to enjoy their pastas and desert. People usually think you go to a steakhouse to get a great steak. But I have found that many Italian and French restaurants offer these larger prime cuts and they are usually outstanding.

My sister and I both ordered the grilled salmon. She asked for her to be cooked through; I asked for mine to be prepred per chef's recommendation. Both of our dishes were prepared to our specifications. Mine was seared on the outside and tender moist on the inside. To add to that perfection, the sunchoke purée had an amazing mélange of flavors. I finished my meal with the Scorza Dolce--also packed with flavor.

I have now had three meals that were so exquisitely flavorful that they will stick in my mind forever (previous two are from 1981 and 2005). My salmon at Mino's is now my #1 all-time favorite meals!

What a gem ! Large patio (fills up by 6pm). Expertly executed Italian dishes. We tried 5 appetizers and loved every one of them. At the tables around us, pasta looked amazing.
Very nice wine list, focusing on Italian wines and some nice craft cocktails. Impeccable service. The only complaint I had was that when we ordered wine by the glass, the bottle may have been opened a while ago. Otherwise, excellent restaurant - highly recommended.

Delicious food with locally sourced ingredients. House made noodles were delicious. Server was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I decided to leave a restaurant down the street from monks due to terrible service . We decided to step inside Minos and absolutely loved it.

The service was amazing. The staff was so accommodating. They had a huge party and were completely booked except at the bar. Only one chair was available and they went looking for an additional seat for my husband and I.

The bar staff was very knowledgeable and suggested the most amazing dishes for us.
CJ was his name and he did such an amazing job .

We had the Fritto miso which is a must try.
The new sink and side salad was the perfect shareable plate along with the tortellini(best pasta I’ve ever had).

As someone who isn’t a sweats girly we decided to try the gelato and OMG !! It was such a creamy and delicious treat. Will be retuning back to explore more of their menu.

Always a solid 5 star experience. Been coming here for quite some time. It’s the place to be in the summer to dine Al fresco! Beautiful outdoor space, friendly staff and amazing food!

Best restaurant on the north shore. Great Italian food, try the burrata appetiser. The pasta is excellent. We had their sausage pizza and the tagliatelle with pancetta and Chili. OMFG it was awesome. Great ambience. Great service. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This is the best restaurant ever!! As we were entering it started to rain outside, as I walked in I noticed that the floor was a little slippery, and by the time that we were seated gabby (hostess) and the other waiters/waitresses had put mats around the restaurant. I assume to ensure their customers safety. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, as it is excellent. Right away the staff are able to assist whenever you are in need of something, wether it’s a clean set of silverware, a new plate, or anything else. They are able to adapt to most peoples food choices, including a special drink, or a food choice for younger kids. All of the staff are incredibly kind. It is insane how incredibly run this establishment is. I’m very glad to have this restaurant in winnetka, let alone the north shore. By far one of the best restaurants in all of Chicagoland. Always here to make all feel welcomed.

Lovely restaurant with incredible customer service. They understand family. We were greeted at the hostess stand promptly . The waitress was cute, friendly, attentive and accommodated all our requests. The cocktails were delicious with a good presentation. I thought the tequila based cocktails were very refreshing. We shared a variety of appetizers, our favorites being the meatball dish and the shrimp + calamari platter. I ordered the branzino for dinner and my wife ordered the salmon. Both dishes were well-plated and very delicious. I thought the portions were on the smaller side others disagreed. ( Our friend ordered the pasta special which he said was "incredible" and the portion size was ample.) Our dessert cocktails were an espresso martini (loved it!), limoncello and our friend ordered pistachio gelato. He highly recommends it. We were warmly sent off by a lovely gentleman, who I can only assume was the owner/partner. It was a nice touch to end the night. I can and will recommend this restaurant. Well done Mino's. well done!

The pasta here is insane. Amazingly fresh and flavorful. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried the rigatoni salsa di vodka 🔥

I love Mino's! Great for a ladies' night or a family dinner with the kids. Such an upbeat and trendy atmosphere without being over the top. The food is just delicious - great vegetarian and seafood options. Extensive wine list. And finally, prices are reasonable for the North Shore.

As a vegetarian, I appreciate that they go out of their way to accommodate. They brought me a customized grill vegetable plate. That was excellent. The Italian food and Neapolitan pizza is done like it is in Italy, very authentic and delicious. We prefer the outdoor dining option when the weather permits. My husband, who eats fish, enjoyed the halibut.

They are doing a great job with outdoor dining in covid times. Very good spacing and plenty of tables. Outdoor heating is on point too. Food is great and I got help to modify items for a vegan diet. Thanks for making my grandma's birthday a good one!

If you're looking for great food and an amazing atmosphere this is the place to be . Steve the manager is always so sweet and kind. I mainly come here because of him. The restaurant is chic and so lovely, whether you want to sit indoor or outdoor. During the summer we sit outdoors because they have the most beautiful patio.
The food is FIRE GOOD here. Whether it's the pizza, pasta, steak or fish. Last night we ordered the meatballs and calamari and they were excellent. Seasoned very nicely. The BBK drink is one of my favs. They also make a mean Manhatten rye. The peach cobbler dessert was to die for. It was so warm, not too sweet and the perfect crunchiness. Btw, if you get a chance to have Victor wait on you... He's awesome! He super sweet, funny, so attentive and super cool. He will even bring you a blanket if you feel a bit chilly while dining outdoors. Thanks Vic 😊

Amazing food. Great service. It’s like eating in downtown Chicago but without the hassle of the commute. Their red wines are fantastic. The pasta, oh my gosh, the pasta!! It’s the best pasta I’ve ever had. Period.

Sometimes it's just the service, sometimes it's just the food. Mino has the best of both!! We ordered roasted brussel sprouts, spaghetti con fruta de mare and cheese pizza. We will be back.
