My favorite movie theater in town! Small theaters with comfortable seats, great staff, cocktails and lounge, limited kitchen. Great place to see arts movies and the latest releases in a cool environment on a hot day. Order tickets online, park free in garage. Always a treat.

Had a mishap booking the violet crown in Santa Fe when we meant to book Austin and Daniel swooped in and took care of our group. We are so grateful and truly the best customer service iv had in so long!!!! New favorite theater. Will be coming back

Great venue for those interested in independent movies. An amazing modern and cozy environment, their food is great and have a good selection of wine, beer and cocktails. The only issue I have is that they don't bring food to your seat, you can only buy it beforehand and bring it in.

This is a my favorite cinema . Mainly , because Kenny , the manager is so kind and personable every time I go there .

I also love how their popcorn is cooked in coconut oil and they use real butter . This is the only cinema I will eat popcorn at while watching a movie .

The comfy seats in the first row are my goto:)))) They also are very generous with 4 hours of free parking so it gives you extra time to walk around the city !!!

This is a great little theater. Excellent seating. Lounge area. Full bar. Food in addition to the usual popcorn. Definitely will be back again

Comfortable seats and easy to park. But need to talk cinema employee to get 4 hours (exact time is not sure) free parking. Can buy pizza etc and eat while watching movie.

Amazing service every time here! Daniel is spectacular. He’s friendly and helpful. Will go back time and time again. One of my favorite theaters.

A nice alternative to Alamo Drafthouse—an upscale version of the classic movie theater experience. Big comfortable seats, too!

Great venue for sxsw screenings! I had a wristband which gets you secondary access. We were so happy to have gotten in. We saw The Ordinaries! So good.

Intimate, upscale cinema always showing a great blend of art house, independent, and big-budget Hollywood films. Theaters are small and have comfortable seats. There is a really beautiful restaurant and lounge to relax in before the movie starts, so I recommend getting there early to grab a drink and some food prior to the show! When the weather is nice, take advantage of the balcony with second-story views of 2nd street.

I've been here just a few times but I see myself making this a regular spot. Rex has always been the absolute best with me and my friends.

My sister-in-law and I went to watch the Barbie movie. It was a great movie, and the atmosphere was splendid. We had drinks, popcorn, pizza, and ice cream. We parked on the 2nd floor of the parking garage and entered the second floor into the cinema. I like that we didn't need to take the stairs anywhere because i was dressed up wearing heals. It was a perfect time. We can't wait to visit again.

This was my first time at Violet Crown and watched Black Widow. The space was clean and well lit. Loved the vanilla iced coffee and got plenty of snacks. Theater is a lot smaller than an AMC which I enjoyed.

Cool movie 🎥🍿 vibe! Lots of beers 🍻 on tap. The drinks and food are amazing for a movie joint! Small cozy theaters! A great movie experience!

Great comfortable theater. Good concessions and full bar with reasonable prices. Other patrons were very courteous and there was no talking or phones out to be distracting.

I was lucky to find parking (downtown Austin). Of course, that expense was not included in my movie plans, but well worth it. The place was charming. A mix of nostalgia and contemporary. Concession and bar employees were courteous and cheerful which is rare these days. Josh was particularly helpful. The seats were cushy and comfortable. The theater itself is small giving you the feel of attending a private screening. Logged onto Fandango and listed these theater as my favorite.

Good theater to enjoy movies lots of places to make out and creepy horror movie vibe with out the threat of death and or being murder by a hook man of some sorts

As someone who's new-ish to Austin, this might be my new favorite cinema!
Views from the windows of the bar area were decent.
Seats were comfy; film was beautiful!
Staff were fabulous!

Also: I enjoyed the best soft pretzel I've eaten at the movies in a long time

Such a cool small movie theater. They have cocktails and drinks you can take with you while you watch a movie. They are tiny theaters, so I would suggest buying your ticket ahead of time.
Parking next door is connected. Keep your parking ticket! They validate it at the theater. Otherwise the lady said it's very expensive. Over $30.00
