Pierrot Gourmet at The Peninsula

Beautiful sit down or to go restaurant with friendly and efficient service. Tried a cappuccino which had a thick layer of froth on top. It tasted perfect. The hazelnut cruffin was gourmet. It had a healthy amount of hazelnut filling so I removed some since was a tad much. The regular coffee was very good as well.
The southwest burrito was large and tasty.
Portion sizes are good for sharing!
Even the bag that I was given for my leftovers was nice 😉.
Overall, a very nice little breakfast restaurant in the river north area of downtown Chicago. I will definitely be back!

As we devoured our meal with gusto, it became evident why Pierrot Gourmet is a beloved spot on Rush Street. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece, leaving us with only a single photo as evidence of our culinary adventure—our plates were practically licked clean!

The Parisian-inspired decor added to the charm of the experience, transporting us to the streets of Paris with its quaint and elegant ambiance.

This place truly offers something for every palate, from classic favorites like Croissant and Quiche Lorraine to tantalizing new dishes and decadent desserts. And let's not forget their expanded coffee and beverage offerings, perfect for a quick pick-me-up or leisurely indulgence.

Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or enjoying a leisurely lunch with friends, Pierrot Gourmet is the place to see and be seen on the Magnificent Mile. It's a culinary escape that will leave you longing for more.

We had the Apple & Brie sandwich, Hazelnut cruffin and the salted caramel mocha. All were very good. Service was good. Also, this is a centrally located cafe for someone near magnificent mile.

Great food and a lovely inviting atmosphere! The service was kind and attentive and there were SO many great desserts and pastries to choose from. We would recommend Pierrot to anyone looking for a sweet and/or a nice breakfast!

I have never eaten food so delicious in my entire life. The hot chocolate is a spiritual excursion in one sip. The food was perfectly seasoned, fresh and top quality. The entire staff was so very friendly and attentive and the service was so fast I almost wasn't ready for it. Definitely looking to go back for more.

General Notes:
A couple quick notes of clarification: 1) Some of the photos of the establishment on Google Maps look like they are pre-renovation. The photos with the green and white color palette represent the current status of the place, 2) the place feels more like a café than a breakfast establishment, which may matter to some people, and 3) they stop service of breakfast around 11:00am.

Food:
I ordered the Quiche Lorraine. Loved it - full of flavor and the texture was just right. Crust was flakey and golden brown. Came with a light salad that paired well with the richness of the main dish.

Coffee:
Brewed correctly, not burned. Wish I had asked what brand of coffee bean they used. Liked the coffee mug. Requested cream and they provided a large creamer! Bonus points. I like a judicious pour of cream in my coffee and with the smaller creamers other restaurants use I usually run out quickly.

Mood:
The place is without a doubt curated very carefully. There is a consistent theme. The furniture, cutlery, dishware, and location outfitting is very professional and tasteful. Pierrot offers a different aesthetic relative to your typical Chicago breakfast location. I personally was not the biggest fan of the minty/shamrock green color and how brightly lit the space was, but this is my personal preference.

Service:
Explained the menu well. A member of our party has Celiac disease (i.e., gluten free) and the waitress worked through this without a problem. Drink refills and check both came quick. No service problems, thank you!

Pierrot is a stable every time we visit Chicago. Their short, but delicious menu keeps us coming back. They are doing a great job catering for our children ;)

Very friendly pleasant place with great service and nice indoor and outdoor seating. Cheesecake raspberry on the top was so yammi , hot chocolate was good, Fresh squeezed orange 🍊 juice was great!

The pastry chef is amazing. The portions are large. I’ve eaten here twice. Enjoyed both meals. Had the best chocolate chip cookie of my life.

Very high quality and well prepared dishes at a reasonable price. The service was excellent and the food was ready fast. They even offered us jam in little jars which made the experience even more enjoyable.

A quick, 24 hours in Chicago, and you cannot miss having brunch at the Pierrot gourmet !!!!! Service is always impeccable, and the food is divine. Don’t forget to grab one of their amazing French desserts on the way out!

What a fantastic little bistro. Located right next to the Peninsula Hotel, this is a go to place for breakfast or brunch. Incredible service starting with Rebecca, Lyn, and Ben. They remembered coffee order from previous day and took great care of us.

Great Experience! This place is busy but you would never know it by the excellent service. The crew works well together and constantly has eyes on every table to make sure nothing is lacking. The cappuccino was perfect, as was the Egg Flambiet. It hit the spot.

Amazing atmosphere, very tasty food and beautiful presentation!

The baked goods were gorgeous and the staff was helpful! My favorite was the macarons!! Finally made ot for breakfast and wow amazing!
