Everything was absolutely amazing! We ordered the queso fundido as an appetizer. Honestly, I would come back just for that and the drinks. Not pictured are the two drinks we ordered - Cucumber Avocado Margarita and a Paloma. There was a perfect balance of tequila in the drinks. They were nice and refreshing for a Spring day. For our entrees, we both opted for the 3 mix & match tacos. On the blue plate: chorizo, chicken, and black bean & portabella mushroom. On the orange plate: carnitas, fish, and BBQ short rib. My favorite was the fish taco. We will definitely be back again!!!

Highly recommend ! Great food, ambiance and location . Perfect patio; they have umbrellas when it’s hot and heaters when it cools down. The margaritas with the fresh lime are delicious . The fresh salsa is great and really enjoyed the veggie enchiladas and burrito . Support local !

Awesome establishment! If you have not been to Depot Nuevo in Wilmette you owe it to yourself. Best Guacamole and an extensive Mezcal and tequila list with great crafted cocktails. Recommendations: Gauc of course, Appetizer Sampler/trio, Fajitas (Many levels above Uncle Julios) and particularly good Mole and red enchilada sauce. Best Staff in town.

Great Margaritas and wonderful service. I took advantage of the great weather and had a Spicy Nuevo on the lawn before dinner. Where else can you get a drink on the lawn these days?! My chicken enchiladas were great (didn’t take a picture sadly). Also, their chips and salsa is fantastic, super fresh and crispy, not greasy at all. Will be back!

We very much love this Upper Scale Mexican Cuisine restaurant. I love their Mole sauce. Everything we've ordered has been enjoyable. As far as I know, they do not take reservations so arrive early if you do not want to wait. If you do have to wait, the margarita's are great!

Farewell to one of Wilmette's first original destination restaurants. We loved their dedication to original Mexican cuisine and spirits. Wow. They will be missed.

Our town has grown to become a competitive restaurant scene now in 2023 -- as opposed to a quaint little burg whose shops serviced we locals rather than drain our rather large pocketbooks with dozens of choices for overpriced food and beverages.

Gone are the charming small businesses who looked out for its local population - to be replaced by chain and theme joints out to bank as much as humanly possible in their routinely short lifespan.

So, for the old Ouilmette Station ( Depot Nuevo's home for years ), now it's been sold to a burger chain. How predictable. We're sure it'll bring in all manner of out-of-towners ... but become a local mainstay? Thanks, but Wilmette has thousands of great local burger cooks. Bon appetite! And no thanks!

Just ate here for the first time, and I was blown away by pretty much every aspect. Their chips were delightfully crispy, the salsa roja was delicious and had a good kick to it, the guacamole had a lovely texture and was very onion-forward which I like, and the mole chicken enchiladas were probably the best enchiladas I've ever eaten. Highly recommend this place, and they also have a really nice outside seating area and adjacent free parking from 3pm-10pm.

We are from Latin America. This place is amazing. The food is great. The service is great. The craft tequilas and mezcals that the owner has curated and imported are incredible.

Huge fan of this place! Great service, and the outdoor seating in the summer is the best you'll find in the area. Get the spicy margarita -- you'll never go back to the basic version. The menu is delicious, if a bit sparse -- that's okay, though, it keeps the specials interesting! If it's a slow night, ask your server to send Charlie by to talk tequila -- he'll provide some great recommendations from their very ample selection.

Best Mexican food I've had in years. Everything was soooo fresh you know it was just made.
We had 3 meat based tacos that made my friends eyes role back in her head!. I had the Fiesta salad with blackened chicken and the assortment if added veggie were only surpassed by the amazing avocado lime dressing. This place is a MUST. Delivery was fast & food was hot!

Great service. Good menu selection. Great tasting food. Unlimited supply of chips and salsa.

Nice casual place to get good Mexican food in Wilmette

We love coming here. Have been for years. Especially on warm summer evenings when the deck is open. Tacos are so good. And the Brew their own beer, which is so cool. One bummer for us was when they took our favorite Nacho Libre off the menu. It's probably the best nacho on the planet. We're happy again though, because we found out they will still make them for us if we ask. It's like a secret menu nacho. There's a long wait pretty often, but we got seated right away at 8pm on a Tuesday night.

Reliably good food and service. The menu standards taste great and the specials are varied. Interesting selection of their own brewed beers. Great service with a significant number of staff that have been there for years and care about customer experience. Clearly comes from the commitment of the wonderful couple who own this neighborhood restaurant.

We could not get seating right away but not to worry we sat at the bar with great margaritas and some incredible chorizo. My Mexican GF said it's the best she's tasted in America and she's a tough critic of authentic Mexican food. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Family friendly. Like the special variations on Mexican recipes and the extensive selection of Tequilas.
They even offer five or six homebrewed or locally brewed beers. You can sit on the porch until it gets too cold and they close it in for the winter. Very family-friendly even for small children.

Depot Nuevo is a great place for friends, family and tequila. The drinks and tacos are above average but it's really one of the few good restaurants in the area that are casual and have strong service and food/drink quality. There is sometimes a wait but it's seldom long. On warmer days, it is among the few places with nice outdoor tables. Expect friendly and timely service and to leave in a better mood than you arrived.

One of the best margaritas this side of the border. Food is awesome. When way back when this was Wilmette's train station. Now it's a fantastic restaurant.

Fantastic Spot! This is the best restaurant in this area by far. The food is always seasoned perfectly and the chips AND salsa are made fresh in house. I personally love the mild one as the flavor is very unique.

Exceptional margaritas for the high quality tequila/mezcal. There must be secret ingredients in these! Upbeat yet relaxing environment both inside and out. I live the tasty tacos to share or to enjoy myself. I don't usually care for chips/salsa, but I can't resist them here!
