I had lived on 114th Church St for 30 years and Mr. Red there, has always help me. I was a single mother with 4 kids and when my washer or dyer went out, he sent a man to help me, work in or out the house-he sent a person to help me. The men's never rip me off, they had good prices. He always knew someone that can do the work. Best place to go!!! "Southern Comforts of courtesy is what Mr. Red always gives at Monterey Hardware Store!"

Love this place! Love the people! Its like a little down home family store. The owner was so friendly and kind. I didn't have cash or a check to pay for my $35 bill, and his credit card machine was broken. He trusted me (a stranger), allowed me to take my purchase and mail him back a check. Where do you find that in 2021, Southside Chicago? America needs more kind people like him!

The owner of this place is friendly, polite and very helpful. If he is unable to do a job he is able to direct you to someone who can.Very resourceful.
