Wally's Subs

We came down with a group to play disc golf and had lunch plans but the place closed. So, we went to Wallys to try it, instead. You get a real nice sized sub with lots of fresh ingredients and super fresh bread! The macaroni salad was yummy too, I'd just get a pint of it. Also, get two slices, at least, of the baklava. It is the best I've ever had and if I didn't live in Grand Rapids, I'd probably be heading there right now.

Really good subs! Give them a try!

My wife grew up in the area and mentioned a few times that "We really need to go there someday, they have really good subs". We recently moved back to the Kalamazoo area so while in the area we decided to stop there.

Atmosphere inside:
On the outside the shop looks small and if you blink you'd probably miss it driving past it. However once you step inside you can see that looks are deceiving. The main area is what you'd expect - a deli counter, a couple seats, and fireplace on the right. However if you look to your left you'll notice they have a good sized dining/seating area - enough to hold plenty of people if you wanted to eat there. There were 2 employees working when we went, and they were quick to take our order, make the subs just the way we ordered them, and offered suggestions.

Menu/Food:
The menu has a wide variety of subs to pick from. I had a hard time picking what I wanted. Everything was very reasonably priced and we didn't have to break the bank eating there (which seems to be the case everywhere else lately). The corned beef, and meatball sub sounded good but I ended up with the seafood one. I always enjoyed that type of sub back in the day when Subway offered it, so thought I'd give it a try here. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted pretty darn close to the one that Subway used to have. The only difference is that it had celery in it, which still tasted great. My wife and kids really enjoyed their subs too and commented how good it was.

Final thoughts:
If you're looking for a good sub, at a good price, go to Wally's Subs. I know I will the next time I'm in that area of town. :)

My family has loved Wally's and their vegetarian sub for decades- the quality and flavor have not diminished over the years. Definitely worth a stop when you're looking for a delicious deli sandwich! Or soup, or baklava, or pasta salad- it's hard to go wrong with any of their offerings!

Wally’s has the best subs. Is it the bread? Is it the meat? I don’t know but they are fire. Believe the hype. The sandwiches are cheap so quit complaining about the size and order the 12 inch!

We were looking for food on the way home to WI from Detroit and came across Wally's. I didn't order at first, but my boyfriend did. After tasting his, I decided to order my own. High quality ingredients. Delicious bread. Fresh Veggies. Good service. So delicious. We will be back when we are back in the area!

Best sub I have had in a long time. Bread is really soft, fresh and tasty. The girl behind the counter was really nice and answered all of our first time visitor questions.

Old school restaurant from the late seventies still around making some of the best subs of all time. They have the meats!

For 40 years going strong, this little shop offered us some tasty treats for a great price. We will be back!

Going for lunch every now and then for a sub chips and a pop, they always have a sub of the day reasonable prices friendly staff highly recommend anybody

Good $h!T Wally is tossing out there. Well worth the money. Had the steak and was able to customize it easily. Awesome lil sub shop.

Definitely worth a try. We eat Subway and subs often and I have gyros quite often. I definitely say they were better.

Delicious 😋. I got a foot long roast beef. So good! I should've gotten the 6 inch. It made a Jimmy Johns sub look like a cheese stick. People are friendly and fast.

9" sub was closer to a foot long, more meat than a 16" from Jersey Giant, Not sure how we forget about Wally's, these Subs are AWESOME and the prices are fantastic. Will go here from now on!!!

Great sandwich. I got the largest House special with 6 meats. It is very expensive.

Exceptional staff who are passionate about their their craft. The food is superb. Anyone who says Wally's doesn't have the best sandwiches in town is lying. I would eat Wally's every day if I could.

Why are the small, unassuming joints always the best? After driving past this place for years and years, I finally decided to stop in for lunch. I was absolutely blown away. Great portion size and price - I paid $14 for a jumbo sub combo. Superior submarines served here.
