Ruthann's Gourmet Bakery & Coffeehouse

An absolute must when visiting downtown Bellare for fresh pastries & bread, as well as crafted specialty espresso. The atmosphere is warm & cozy with a touch of elegance. The moment you waltz through the door, the bakery smells of fresh baked goods & spices. I love the couches by the fireplace with a giant puzzle. The best part was the Danish I ordered. The pastry was light & crispy on the outside with a rich & buttery blueberry jam & icing. The staff was also very welcoming & patient.

Love it! Got to meet Ruthann and I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and her bakery. Atmosphere was cozy and beautifully decorated. My breakfast everything bagel was everything and more and my husband had a cinnamon roll and it was great. A must try when in Bellaire.

This place is fabulous! Went today for my wedding cake tasting. Ruthann was very accommodating and kind. She provided us with a few types of cupcakes to try and accommodated for my gluten free guests.
The cupcakes were absolutely delicious. My future father in law keeps talking about how good the wedding cake flavor cupcake was. The buttercream is her own special recipe and great. We look forward to the wedding, knowing that our guests will love the cake and cupcakes!

We loved Ruthann's delicious cupcakes and cake for our Northern Michigan Wedding! All of our guests commented how delicious the cupcakes were, and she accommodate our gluten-free guests' allergies without issue.

Her cakes are AMAZING!!! She helped create the perfect wedding cake for my husband and I at the beginning of June. Super nice and understanding, really gets the details exactly right. It looked exactly as I pictured it. Not only that but people at our wedding who don't like cake were raving about how delicious her cake was. I'll recommend this bakery any day and will definitely be back for birthday cakes, or our anniversary cake in the future. Highly recommended!

We love going to Ruthann's every summer when we are up in Bellaire for cupcakes and coffee. We even chose to have Ruthann bake our wedding cake. We loved having our favorite lavender lemon cupcake come to life as our wedding cake. She also made us a triple chocolate sheet cake for some variety for our guests. Both were a huge hit! I loved the way she decorated with fresh flowers my florist had leftover. Thank you Ruthann!

We booked with Ruthann's for our wedding at Castle Farms on 10/02/21. We did a taste test and she was so nice/accommodating. Her cake was absolutely delicious!! The frosting is homemade buttercream and it tastes amazing! It wasn't super rich and sugary like most buttercream frosting. Her pricing is affordable and love the many cake options. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and it turned out beautifully! It also tasted amazing!! Thank you Ruthann! When I'm up north again, I'll be stopping by your bakery to grab some goodies!!

I had the banana nut bread chai and it was so delicious! I typically get iced chai, but I had this one warm and it was the perfect cozy drink. There was a banana foam on top and I could taste hints of cherry throughout the chai, which mixed perfectly with the banana taste!

What a wonderful find! This is a super cute medium size gourmet bakery. Very clean, cute decor and better yet, amazing treats! They are as visually pleasing to the eye and tasty just as great. The staff was so awesome, answered questions gave recommendations and shared an enjoyable conversation. Priced more then fair considering the baked goods really are gourmet. Will be coming back again and again for the food as well as the very pleasant experience. Thanks so much!

Hands down, the BEST bakery I’ve ever visited. Coming from NC and having a few “must haves” to check out in Northern MI, this did not disappoint. My girls loved every single thing we bought. I even went back in for 2 more caramel apple muffins. Delicious and the kindest ladies working.

We got married at Castle Farms on December 30, 2019. We had Ruthann make us a 2 tier (8” and 10”) cake in a semi-naked style with flowers, about 50 cupcakes in 3 different flavors, 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries, and about 50 heart shaped bride and groom decorated sugar cookies. Everything we tasted was delicious, and guests enjoyed it a lot too. Ruthann is super sweet and easy to work with, though she’s not very responsive to email which made planning from Metro Detroit a bit difficult (but she always answered quickly when we were able to call). Prices were reasonable (less than $1,000 for everything I listed, with a $250 deposit when we booked her), and we were able to do a tasting at her home bakery before booking. She’s great to chat with and has a big personality that we loved. I highly recommend working with her for your wedding, it was top-notch work and we absolutely loved everything!

Awesome! We had cupcakes, a wedding cake and a grooms cake done. All were beautiful and tasty, great job!

All their baked goodies are always delicious. Their cupcakes are always so perfectly moist and flavorful, they have beautiful decorated cookies, and they have such great coffee! The employees are always so friendly and great. Always a treat to pick something up! I also love their new mug loyalty program. I’m so excited for their frozen coffees in the summer!

This is an amazing bakery/cafe! Their baked goods are incredible. One of the best scones my wife and myself have ever had. So fresh and flavorful. The staff is super friendly. Great folks to chat with about the area. They are also taking great precautions to keep themselves and their patrons safe from Covid.

We’re frequent patrons and always enjoy our stop at Ruthann’s. The staff is phenomenal! We really enjoy the frozen coffee on a warm day. The bagels are always delicious! Our favorites are the pecan danishes and molasses cookies. Whatever you choose, it will be delicious! You really can’t go wrong.
