I have brought my mom here the last couple years for mothers day and it is absolutely gorgeous! there is one main (wheelchair friendly and accessible) trail and a board walk that spans around the whole lake. It is absolutely gorgeous but note to self, they do not allow dogs here sadly, but it is full of wildlife and nature and quite but i have to warn you also, the walk all the way around is a little long and at least a mile or two. But enjoy!

I visited this lake for the first time yesterday with a friend of mine. There were so many photographers taking pictures of the beautiful fall colors. The trails are easy to follow and give you the opportunity to follow alongside the lake. The woods offer views of beautiful hills, trees, and the lake. I would highly recommend this park if you're looking for some lite exercise or to walk a few miles. I will be returning in the spring to see the beautiful blooms views that season has to offer.

Came to watch the eclipse and stayed for the set of trails, a little bumpy on the paths but the scenery is great here

Great hike around the lake. Parking is right off the road. The blue trail around d the lake is mostly flat with just a couple small hills. Most of the trail is gravel or sand, and was dry.

Wonderful nature area with many walking trails. The trails are nicely maintained and also has walkway over the lake water. All kinds of wild life are encountered along the trail. If you love nature this is the place to go.

One of the top 3 parks within 30 minutes of Gran Rapids. Incredibly scenic nature preserve with top notch sunsets, incredible assortment of wildlife, easy to moderate hiking trails and good fishing. Bring your camera, your trail runners, your fishing poles, you binoculars or hammock and enjoy one of West Michigan's natural treasures. FYI...No dogs allowed.

Great collection of trails. The blue trail circles around the lake; approximately a 2 mile hike. Most of the trail is flat, but expect a couple hills. Nice views and benches to enjoy the scenery. No dogs allowed.

Serene, untouched beauty surrounds this quaint inland lake, most specifically and from my experience, during autumn. The paths are well-groomed and well-maintained, wide enough to walk side-by-side with your companion. No pups allowed, which is a shame, but that alone should not deter you from taking a short day hike when the weather urges you out-of-doors.

Lots of parking, restroom is further up the trail. Nice canopy of mature trees, path is a little narrow in some places.

Nice set of trails with great scenic views. We took the 1.9 mi lake trail on our visit. Good variation on the trail featuring gravel, sand, and boardwalk with a few uphill and downhill sections.

Our favorite place to walk/hike through the woods. Beautiful variety of trees and wildlife. The bridge is very nice looking and well-constructed.

The bees are thriving near the east boardwalk so beware. They left us alone completely but if youre allergic you may want to avoid this section.
This trail is great for a low impact walk with very few hills to climb. Nice big circle around the lake with some offshoots.

A lovely easy trail with nice views of lake and wildlife. Swans, geese, multiple other bird species and the local beavers. There is another longer trail that has a good bit of elevation.

Pickeral Lake is a great place to spend time with the family or a quite walk by yourself. The scenery is amazing and very peaceful.

There is a bridge to fish from (not the best fishing spot), along with multiple trails around the lake.

Only downside is No Dogs Allowed.

This is a fantastic place to go for a peaceful walk around the lake. I love that most of the trails are shaded so it's not too hot even during the middle of the day.

The best kept secret in all of West Michigan, at least that's what I think. You can't bring dogs, but the trails are so worth it for both running and hiking. There are very few places as beautiful as this.
