If you are looking for the perfect Nursing School, one that’s a break from the conventional idea of stressfulness and tough, where learning is fun and the instructors appreciate YOU, this is the place. From day one, you will feel appreciated and needed. You will feel a laid back- chilled out, yet serious attitude towards learning. They will make sure you aren't taking any unnecessary classes, and that you graduate in the shortest amount of time. Whether you’re a single mom, or just graduated high school, they will work with you to make you have the most awesome learning experience possible. It was the best choice I could’ve made. So if you’re even thinking about becoming a Nurse, please stop by and take a tour of the lab and classrooms.

I have had nothing but a wonderful experience so far. Admissions made sure to thoroughly explain everything to me and there was no pressure to me starting. My advisor is in constant contact and listens to what I would like to do schedulewise. My professors are timely and actually host lectures. I appreciate this after my last online school experience. I have been able to maintain my full schedule as an Asst. GM at my job and still complete my coursework!!

I had a great experience here as a student. I feel like I was really well prepared to enter the world of nursing, and that the faculty and staff really care.

My experience during my Associate degree was very up and down and a lot of changes happened in Blackboard, which altered my star rating and negative perception of Rasmussen (now I am finishing my bachelor degree and my perception has chnahed based on experience). This being brought to the review section, once you get the handle of things that have changed it is not too bad. There is still a lot of options academic wise versus a "traditional" state University. I do enjoy fast pace, so the 5.5 week courses are more ideal versus the "traditional" 11 week courses I struggled with at a previous state University. Rasmussen University is on the more expensive side, however, there are more options given on how a student wants to personalize their academics based on their style.
Thank you
Em

I have had a wonderful time at Rasmussen. There have been many times where I have felt that things are unorganized and chaotic, but regardless, the advisors ensure that you understand what is going on and provide with all the information that they can at any given time. I would have chosen a UW school for better organization, but Rasmussen has allowed me to obtain the same degree in less time. The one main criticism that I have is that many online professors are not very accountable for their actions and contracts that they sign regarding timeliness of responses and grading. However, the BSN program currently has very small class sizes, which has been extremely beneficial for my learning as I feel comfortable asking what I need to ask. My cohort has become my second family, and Rasmussen has provided me with the opportunity to become a nurse with a four-year degree in less than four years!

Rasmussen is a lot like buying groceries at a gas station. You are paying for convenience, not quality. You're paying at least $5000 per quarter. There is no wait list, which is nice. There are a lot of manipulation practices. First, they claim to have a low failure rate. Which is true, but that's because people withdraw before they fail. Second, the "military grant" doesn't go to you, it goes to the government. They informed me that the government owes me, but the government doesn't pay anybody back so good luck getting it. The professors are really knowledgeable and I learned a lot but most of what they cover isn't on the tests. If you want to succeed, buy the books and use your time preparing for tests and not studying the presentations. Rasmussen has high turnover because I think they overload the professors and aren't willing to pay them what they're worth. This has caused last minute changes before the quarter starts and sometimes during the quarter and several people are using their PTO unnecessarily due to last minute changes. Lastly, they do something called item analysis. This is where they arbitrarily pick and choose what is considered an unfair question and give points back to the few students who missed the question. If they didn't do that, most people would fail. My opinion, the reason they don't use a curve instead like most reputable nursing schools is that it's a control mechanism to manipulate students into not complaining about the quality of their education. None of the credits transfer either so if you don't finish, you wasted anywhere from $5 to $50 thousand dollars in debt with nothing to show for it. Luckily, I got all of my gi bill reimbursed so it didn't cost me anything. Every single person who started in my nursing class had to retake at least one quarter. Our class started with 12 and only 3 of us graduated. 2 to my knowledge are still trying and they had to retake at least 2 quarters. Midstate is harder to get into but your chances of passing are a lot higher, they curve the tests, and are a lot more accommodating. This review isn't personal it's just a fact.

Do not recommend I was in the nursing program in my last semester and missed my exam average of 80% by 0.25 I tried it appeal got denied spent hours getting recommendations and wrote to anyone that would listen ultimately getting shut down. I now am removed from the program, credits don’t transfer, and all my clinicals expire. I am in 35,000 in debt and wasted 2 years of my life. Please don’t go here it is an awful place

I requested information on a program they offer. When they contacted me about my inquiry, they actually had no idea they offered the degree. I told the person I did not want to spend money at a place that was apparently disorganized to the point they didn't know their degree offerings. They continued to contact me by phone and email about my continuing education. I have asked several times to remove me from their lists for future contacting. I am still receiving calls and emails from them on a weekly basis. It has been at least nine months.
