Old World Cafe

Omg!!! What an amazing place! Do not let the exterior fool you. This place is the most amazing restaurant I have visited! The place inside is gorgeous, just beautifully decorated. The restaurant is cozy, warm, and inviting. The music is soothing. The owner came table to table to greet each of its patrons, it was such a warm and welcoming feeling. He made a huge impression, he was friendly, caring, and made the experience very special. The food was outstanding! The presentation was artistic. I absolutely love this place, I can't stop raving about it. We came in for breakfast but I have to plan to return for dinner. Everything sounds delectable on the menu, you cannot go wrong. Customer experience like this is very uncommon. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Such an amazing restaurant! Reminded me of a quaint European cafe. Coffee was so fresh, and the beans were roasted within the day! The omelets had fresh vegetables in it, and amazing cheese. The baguettes were also so fresh, airy and so good. The berry compote with pancakes and French toast just hit the spot.

The interior and exterior is charming, and had the vibe of a French cafe. People were so friendly and the owners walked around marking conversations with everyone! Just a great experience.

Highly recommended. Fabulous way to start or end your M-119 drive. Breakfast and lunch, salads available. Indoor and patio seating.
Outdoor seating has a lovely and classy European cafe feel to it! Go there! It is an oasis in Northern Michigan.

At the northern end of tunnel of trees. Amazing meal! Beautiful but small restaurant. While other places near by had 2 hour wait, we were seated in about 15 minutes.

Highly recommend Italiano sandwich, bruschetta and their soup of the day which was cream of mushroom.

AMAZING place! Truly a Northern Michigan hidden gem. MUST visit if in the area. Food is phenomenal! The place is beautiful, a mini Europe. A bit pricy for a small town up north, but typical for a nice, down state suburban restaurant. The owner is soo sweet. He comes over to the table to chat and make sure you're enjoying yourself and the food. He is from Poland and just opened the restaurant one year ago. Truly impressed with the place, highly recommend visiting!

Barbie, Natasha and the owner where the most wonderful people. They welcomed us with open arms and our 2 English cream goldens. The food was spectacular and so was my bloody mary. stop HERE you will NOT be disappointed

Fabulous and wonderful setting the owner and his wife and most of staff are awesome. Food and the fact that all of the touches have been carefully curated make this a special and very worthwhile stop!

Village. Greeted by the owner, we enjoyed good service, beautiful surroundings, quality food. I had a Mimosa and crepes. My hubby had the Breakfast Board. All was yummy....followed by the best latte I've had in a long time.

The owners were provided great conversation. The menu is not big, but the dishes are very refined. Great fresh ingredients from the protiens to yhe cheeses. Hours are limited and the operation is seasonal. Decor is trippy & fun.

A gem in an out of the way place or on your way to Mackinaw City. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Out-of-this-world decor. Great breakfast items. Clean. Owner was great to talk to. On our to come back list!

The food at Old World Cafe was delicious - pictured is the Italian sandwich 😋😋 unfortunately, this is where our car wouldn't start on our honeymoon. However, the owner was an angel and let us stay after close while we waited for the tow truck. 10/10 would recommend, we will be back the next time we are in town!

Beautiful restaurant with a great menu and wonderful servers. We sat outside on their cute patio. I had the omelet and my husband had the challah french toast. The cheddar in the omelet was real white cheddar and the flavor complemented the eggs really well. The breakfast potatoes are well seasoned and a favorite. Everyone that came by our table was kind and helpful. Definitely will be back next time we are in the area. Located right at the tunnel of trees scenic drive.

The best little cafe!! The eggs Benedict is the best I ever had!! The owners come around to every table to greet their guests, plus they remember everyone. The atmosphere, the service is impeccable. They have a cute patio that gives you the feel like your in Italy. The food is gourmet elegance!! I give them 10 stars ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

What a wonderful lunch we had at Old World Cafe in Cross Village this week. It was a vacation within our vacation - like a trip to Europe while travelling through Michigan. It started as a search for a place that would allow our little dog on the patio. (It was such a hot day we could not leave her in the car.) We were overjoyed when dear Barbara said "of course!" and in we came. The menu was like none I'd ever seen. Every item was unique and special. We will definitely return to try other choices. And we have to come back to try the breakfast selections. Every meal has a European flare. No plain old eggs and toast here. I cannot recommend this restaurant with more fervor. And also, it is beautiful to see inside as well.

Impeccable service and I'll dream about this food in the future. Perfect!
