Very professional company. Completed work on my home siding and roof and the whole team did an excellent job. The salesmen kept me up to date and was very honest and fair. Did what I wanted done. Didn't try to steer me to unwanted work. Gene was great to work with. Had the positive attitude, wanted results not excuses. Communications were great. The crews did an amazing job, could just tell by the way they worked that they are going to do a first-rate job. Never heard one negative comment about the company. Did a great job cleaning up after work was completed. All around I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them to anybody. Great Company, Thank You

We had a slow start with poor weather last fall/this spring 2024, but Kendhammer A-1 Roofing got my roof re-shingled after hail damage plus new gutters and guards. Project Manager Robert Wolk did an excellent job coordinating and overseeing being on-site throughout the day. Crew of five worked hard and finished in one day plus did an excellent job cleaning up waste/nails. Seamless gutters plus guards good quality. Would recommend this company to others needing a new roof and/or gutters.

Kendhammer A-1 Roofing was great to work with! Very reasonable estimate to replace our roof due to hail damage. We have a very large roof and I thought it would take two to three days to do, but they did it in a day and they made sure that the everything was cleaned up afterward. I have experienced replacing a house roof three times, each time with a different roof replacement company with the most recent being Kendhammer A-1 Roofing & Construction. Kendhammer A-1 Roofing & Construction proved to be the most knowledable, helpful, competent and experienced of them all.
After submitting a request for a roof inspection and possible replacement to Kendhammer A-1, their response was prompt. Gene, a consultant and coordinator for Kendhammer A-1, conducted a comprehensive inspection of my roof. Gene accurately identified signs of hail damage which were corroborated by the insurance adjuster’s assessment. Gene then assisted with my insurance claim both before and after my roof replacement.
The crew sent to my MN residence demonstrated an exceptional work ethic, clearly taking pride in their work. Mario, the crew supervisor, diligently oversaw the project from beginning to end. He identified flashing issues left behind by the previous roof installation company and ensured they were properly repaired, despite the additional time required.
After completion of the roof replacement, there was no debris left around my house. Before starting, Mario’s crew placed large tarps around the perimeter of the house to catch debris. After completion, the crew thoroughly inspected and picked up any leftover debris on the lawn.
Throughout the project, Gene checked in periodically and kept me informed of the progress. After completion, he conducted a final inspection, explained the flashing repairs, and ensured my satisfaction. From initial contact to the project’s completion, I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience with Kendhammer A-1. Within a single day, I had a beautifully installed and structurally sound roof. Our experience with Gene Graffunder and his crew from Kendhammer A-1 was exceptional from start to finish. We needed to have our house roofed and Gene was professional and responsive right from day one. If I had any questions, he always got back to me the same day. The crew was really hardworking and very respectful of us and our property. From start to finish, this was one of the best home projects we have ever experienced, thanks to Gene and his crew.

We called Kendhammer A-1 Roofing and Construction and ask for a free estimate to remove and replace our aging roof. We talked with Greg Adams and set up an appointment. He came within a few days and went over the process. In a couple of days he sent us an estimate with a few options. We were not in a hurry, so we compared his estimate with other companies. We found out that their Malarkey shingles were better than most other shingles. I called Greg and we agreed on a price. He called about a week in advance and Greg and his crew showed up at 7am! A crew of six quickly removed the old shingles, tar paper, valley tin and the drip edge. Next, they put down the ice and water, the roof membrane, the new drip edge and valley tin. I was very impressed on how well they all worked so well!! In a few hours they had most all of the old roof into one of the Kendhammer dumpsters! The new shingles went on without any problems! We received extraordinary service from Kendhammer, and would especially like to thank Bert for going above and beyond! The crew needed to lay out some rubber roof to make sure it was dry before they could lay it down. It was a hot sunny day, and after just a few minutes, it had begun to brown our grass. Bert apologized profusely, watered several times, and even came back several days later to rake in seed. Our yard looks better than ever! Moreover, his communication during the entire process from conducting the initial inspection for the estimate through the final product was extremely thorough. Thanks so much to Bert and the entire team!

We had Kendhammer install a new roof for us and our experience was AWESOME! They worked with our insurance company directly and made the process virtually hassle-free for us. Upon tearing the roof off, there were a lot of surprises found that had to be taken care of, and they made sure the insurance company stepped up and took care of everything. In our experience, every roofing contractor we spoke with used subcontractors. Kendhammer used subcontractors as well, but they had somebody on-site at all times to make sure the job was completed to their standards. Cannot say enough good about the Kendhammer team!

After several quotes from local companies and a lot of research, we determined that Malarkey shingles were the best solution for our new (to us) home's roof replacement.

Bert was very easy to work with and was very clear on terms and expectations. He kept in regular communication up until the day of installation and provided updates as products shipped. He and his team showed up early AM and finished the roof the same day. He came back the next morning for a few last things and to ensure adequate cleanup.

When the gutters were delayed he kept us in the loop throughout and ensured the work was completed.

We even talked about several other home improvement projects that A1 would be able to help with in the future, such as siding and windows.

Kendhammer gave us faith in contractors again. We previously with a different contractor had a terrible experience with another company installing a roof that wasn’t up to code. Fortunately, that roof was severely damaged from large hail a few months later. When Kendhammer came to replace the roof we were informed the old one wasn’t even code. Kendhammer replaced our roof within weeks, to code. They showed up early on a Saturday, separated out their materials so they could probably be recycled, cleaned up as they went along and when they were done. The guys were so polite and kind to us, they even brought their own generator for their nail guns and to heat their lunches and finished the job in one day. We truly could not have asked for a better experience and a perfect, up to code roof at completion. And their pricing was fair on top of it. Would absolutely hire them again.
