The New England House Seafood & Sports Bar

During our recent visit my family pulled into this place, we had no idea or heard anything about it but we were all happy we did!!
It wasn’t a busy time so we had the place to ourselves for about an hour…then it started to fill up! Everything we had was so good that we cleaned our plates before we could get pictures (I forgot)
I got the house salad with grilled fish on the side! Crazy but the lettuce they used is baby lettuce that was so good I had to ask!! I ended up finding it at a local grocery store! The coleslaw was so good that it was addicting!!
This place was so good my sisters ,five of us went again and all order the same thing all with extra sides of coleslaw!!
I can’t wait till next July it will be one of my first stops!!

The first time eating here. It was a pub atmosphere with a lot of the locals that come here. The food was excellent, very fresh, good portions and our waitress was very accommodating. The prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurantsa in the area. They also had a takeout area outside. They're choices in salads and seafood seem to be very popular items. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back!

What a hidden gem!! Look for the sign and stop in. You won’t be disappointed. We stopped for a late lunch on our way home after a wonderful stay in Kennebunkport. Wanted one last seafood lunch. Started with sangria and a beach dreams very nice!! Had their mussels for an appetizer it was huge, the mussels were delicious. And the captans plater was plenty for both of us. Their fried food is very light and not the least bit greasy. It has a nice sports bar atmosphere plenty of omen seating, prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. If you’re driving on rte 1 in the area and want great food and beverages you can’t go wrong stopping here. Look closely cause it doesn’t jump out at you driving by. Cheers Dan.

Fun atmosphere, Happy people, Hostess with a constant smile, consistent food prep and genuine caring for customers. Rachael at the bar is 1 reason alone to head for the New England House for a good quick meal. When the fire is being fed with fresh wood, you can't beat the warmth you feel (even sitting clear across the dining room). When the fireplace isn't blaring, the servers and support staff are warm and welcoming. Hopefully the record of success and perfect combination of management and support team remains a 10! Congrats on putting together the greatest customer focused team you could possibly compile!

My mom and I had dinner here and it was a fantastic experience. Our server Trevor was attentive and patient, the drinks are great, the restroom is clean and the food taste and portions are top notch. We had the clam chowder, the lazy man’s lobster and the seafood rotini. We were so excited to try the main courses that we forget to take the pictures until we had already started eating! We both sampled each dish and had only positive things to say. All are great choices and we highly recommend!

Visiting Maine for the first time, we were looking for a place to have some seafood. The parking lot was full, so we knew it must be a good restaurant and we were not disappointed! The clam chowder was delicious and the Monday seafood special was amazing! The tartar sauce is all their own and awesome! The food was so good that we had their Tuesday special for takeout the next day. The staff were friendly and service was great. This restaurant is highly recommended!!

We visit the York Beach area one to two times a year and have eaten at The England House many times. The food and service are always excellent. This visit to Maine we visited two times. The steak bomb special and the fish dinner were amazing.

This place is definitely a MUST STOP while visiting Ogunquit! Nan and pop feel of restaurant. A bit busy and loud but WORTH the food!! The staff is VERY friendly!!! Also, if you’re looking for a good drink, this is your place! I would give more stars if I could!

Food is absolutely delicious, portions are large! Price is right 👍 service quick and friendly staff. 15 minute wait instead of 60 minutes at three restaurants we tried before this gem. The chowder is thick, creamy and full of clams, tiny potato cubes and special bacon. Loved it so much that we took friends there a day later!

Love this place! First time here and definitely won't be the last. No frills great food and awesome service! Easy to get to, good parking. Food came out so fast and was hot and fresh and delicious!! Pats game was on, too!

Came for lunch with a friend. Delicious food. Good bang for your buck. Im a big guy and i still took home a to-go box. Friendly staff. Cheerful atmosphere.

Came in for the day and nothing was open for lunch, except this place, and it was all we needed. Fireplace cranking, cool music, and great food for the money. If I didn't have to leave I would have stayed the whole afternoon.

Feb 2024 Review
Again, this establishment knocked it out of the park. I ordered a meal that unfortunately wasn't as expected and the waitress took notice. She called over a man named Xavier and he wanted to remake the meal, so he did. The amazing part here is that when the waitress came over to ask if everything was okay (as waitstaff do) I didn't point out that it was not as expected. The waitress read me, and took initiative, and Xavier and the kitchen made things great. I can't recommend this place enough. It's truly amazing and service you'd expect at a much higher priced dining establishment. Phenomenal!!!!

didn't know they close at 8. We walked in right at 8. They welcomed us, but did ask that we order right away because the kitchen closes.

We ordered, the food came, it was delicious and fairly priced. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was, and truly appreciated their accommodating us.

BTW the trolly driver lady recommended the establishment, and when we arrived, we asked folks that were leaving if it was good food and they said "yes, very good".

So there you have it, last minute diners, random people in the parking lot, and a local trolly driver agree, this place is great!

We'll go back again for sure!

The best fried shrimp I’ve ever had! So lightly breaded that you could see the pink stripes. Husband had mussels on linguine and the amount of mussels was enormous! Frosted mugs for beer. Service top notch. We will be back!

Best clamstrips I have ever eaten! Great coleslaw also. Wait staff was excellent.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere. Not my usual kind of place but I liked it... the beers were cold and the shots were chilled.. Their Clam Chowder is a MUST!! OMG amazing!!! Thank you New England House Seafood!! Very nice staff!

The staff here was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. The dishes were portioned very well, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. We sat out on the patio and it was a lovely day for it. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in town.

Went there to watch army navy game. Sat in bar area, had some great drinks, appetizers and then meals. Food good, drinks good, nice bar area and the waitress was spot on!! Definitely recommend!
