My husband and I have renovated two kitchens utilizing Coastal General Construction within the last 9 years since moving to Maine. In both of our homes, we not only got the best service and craftsmanship from this group of talented contractors, but we also got the best products at a fair price and ultimately, both of our kitchens far exceeded our expectations in terms of functionality and classic beauty. Jerry, Norm and their team listened to our needs, wants and desires and through their guidance and direction of their team of exceptional carpenters, tile installers, electricians, and plumbers, we ended up with exactly what we wanted in each of the renovations... I would highly recommend without hesitation!

We love our new kitchen! It wasn’t an easy project as we live in an older cottage and with every wall that was opened up a new “surprise” was discovered. Coastal kept us informed all along the way, kept us within budget, gave us the open floor plan we were looking for and the beautiful kitchen that is the heart of our home. Highly recommend.

My Partner and I have been working with Coastal General Construction since 2011. We've trusted them to complete several projects for us, on time and with quality craftmanship. They have the best team in place to handle just about any project you might have. Without question, I simply can't imagine working with any other contractor.

I first used Coastal for my condo remodel in 2008 after my realtor recommended the owner Jerry DeHart to me. At the time I lived 700 miles away and was a little nervous about having such a big project done ‘in absentia’. After meeting with Jerry and selecting finishes etc. I did not see the work until completion. It was perfect! Done to schedule, looked great, came in on budget and our condo manager said they were a pleasure to work with.
Over the years I have recommended them to many of my fellow condo owners and every single one of them has been delighted with the workmanship and the dealings they have had with Jerry and his business partner Norm Clough. Coastal General Construction is a class act.

Coastal General Construction has done several jobs on our home, some large, some small, but the results are always the same: top quality work, on time, and on budget. When there is an unexpected problem, both Jerry and Norm are right on top of it, keeping me in the loop. If a change order is necessary, they give good advise and fair pricing. Both were extremely helpful when we were designing the major renovation (lifting the house, installing a new basement, turning the house, complete gutting of the first floor, reframing a room complete, new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, siding, roof, new floors, insulation, new kitchen and bath), there were several major unexpected surprises, but they responded quickly, priced it right, and finished the project exactly on the original schedule.They were also helpful selecting finishes when we were indecisive, and their advise was spot on. We have used Coastal General again, twice, and always recommend them to friends and neighbors. I’ll finish by repeating: top quality work, on time, on budget, fair and honest. What else is there?

Last night I got home from a 5 day visit to see my condo renovations for the very first time since hiring Coastal General Construction. I could not have been happier with my experience with them. I live on the top 2 floors, in a building which was built in the 1800s. Needless to say, taking on renovations in an old building are difficult to say the least. I have had experience-5 years ago, I tackled the upstairs. My experience this time, using Coastal General Construction, has left me asking myself why on earth I didn't hire them for the first job, upstairs. This time, Coastal General renovated my kitchen....they did a complete GUT job, moving walls, ceiling, plumbing, electrical, redesigning and relocating the entire space. From the day Jerry DeHart first walked into my condo, he listened intently to what I wanted. A few days later he brought back his business partner, Norm Clough to also understand what I wanted. After making all of my choices, I left to return to my other home. YES, I left Coastal General in charge to transform my kitchen/bedrooms downstairs. Not only did they completely transform my place beyond my wildest dreams, making everything I asked for possible without ever letting me know when or if they encountered issues common for a building as old as mine, they FINISHED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! Not a few days, but by more than a month from what I was originally told. I never worried about a thing, and I was MORE THAN blown away at the outcome. Even our building manager has said that this renovation was the most professional, clean and pleasurable experience she has had. The staff could not have been nicer, I even had the chance to meet some of them this past week. The pride in their work is evident from the TOP all the way DOWN to each of the different employees. We love our garage with master bedroom/ bathroom that we added last year! All of the work was completed within the quoted time and simply perfection in quality! I’m already hoping to have more work done in the future! Thank you Coastal General Construction!

I’ve worked with Coastal Construction for both big and small projects for my home. Regardless of the size of the job, it is done to perfection each time. Professional, quality workmanship, completed on time and within budget. You can’t get better than that!

I paid the quote in full for my roof to be replaced before the work was started. Being a new home owner I didn't realize that this was far from typical and Jerry, the owner, asked me if I was sure I wanted to pay in full before work was even started. The workers showed up on time and completed the roof within a couple days. The owner then called me and told me he owed me money back because the job came in under budget. Can’t get more ethical and professional than that.

I have worked for Coastal General Construction and I can tell you from an inside prospective that not only are the owners are upstanding people with a passion to make your house a home. They provide top notch service with quality material!!
