Even though I live in Bay City which is a mere seven or eight miles away, this is my favorite place to be in the summer. The bird life here is amazing with always something going on with them. I typically walk the canal and watch people catch a variety of fish. Before bass season comes, people catch lots of bass. Go figure! There is a great boat launch with lots of parking. It has access to the bay with great Walleye fishing. There are two nature trails, one is about half a mile with a view of the bay and a tower for the kids to climb. The other is 4 mi long and runs along the bay as well as through areas where you can view a lot of wildlife. Definitely a place to bring your bicycles.

Beautiful twilight and sunset over Saginaw Bay. Platform on trail elevated our experience by lifting our visual 20+ft in the air.

Beautiful place to go for a walk. I've been coming here for the past 10 years, and it still is beautiful to me.

You have a man made canal with paved public walkway. On one side is wild marshland protected from the wind and waves. The other side is wild and unprotected from the elements. But that will change depending on the weather. Each time I visit things are different. Water level and clarity change often. Lots of birds and different types of vegetation. Walk out to the end of the trail and get lost in your thoughts.

Finn road Park is a great place to take the kids fishing you might even catch a few bass or pike. You can walk the trail that's goes from the boat launch to the camping grounds and have a good time as well

You can walk right out to Saginaw Bay. I assumed it would be a beach, but it sure wasn't!! Reeds and grasses growing all along the walkway and surprised at the number of large trees growing in the standing water. Was also surprised to see the large white egrets - close to a dozen!! I always assumed they were all down south. Never expected to see them on the Great Lakes!! Not a huge amount of people when we were there, so nice and quiet. People we did meet were open and friendly, and often the first to say hello. Nice place, albeit small.

Very nice walk. Dog owners need to obey the rules and put their dogs on leashes. Picking up after them would be nice too.

This was an unexpected trail. Rather than form a trail to the landscape the landscape was formed to the trail. There is not much direct access to Lake Huron but if you have long pants there looks to be a pond in the middle of a spit with a canal out to Lake Huron on the western side. There is stinging nettle so if you plan to go off trail you want pants. Expect to see wading birds and frogs.

I fish here a lot on my lunches. Has a boat launch, that requires a pass. It seems to be very well taken care of and always clean.
