This restaurant, is out of the way, in a small town, but one time ago it was the go-to place... Now, it is quiet but still loved. The 2 person staff serve up fantastic customer service and homemade cooking. While waiting to receive your meal you can purchase homemade pastries or shop from a small area of homemade products... My husband loved his chicken fried steak, with hash browns, eggs, and toast. I couldn't eat all of my scratch pancakes, bacon, and an egg on the side.... We both chose tall glasses of pure water.. the prices were very reasonable. The cinnamon roll was huge and only cost $1. They only accept paper so bring your wallet the next time you are in Wrenshall... you'll be happy you are there.

Stopped in here for a hangover recovery meal! It was perfect for that! (The pies were killer) Caroline did an amazing job serving us as well! We will definitely be coming back!

We ended up stopping here on our way to Duluth. Had a nice vibe and I would definitely stop here again if I'm ever back in this area. As mentioned in some of the comments they don't like masks and they don't like abortions as stated by the many signs around the resturaunt. However that does not change the friendly demeanor of the staff and I'd recommend stopping in for a slice of their apple pie.

I had the french dip sandwich with fries.
Very good food at a very fair price.

Husband and wife own this place. Caroline is a wonderful person and sweet lady. Great place to eat and take out. I recommend Highly. Husband cooks up great food and is great to talk to 😊. I will be back again.

My husband and I drive out here to eat 1 or 2 times a week and have for years. Even brought family from the east coast to eat here and they were very impressed with the quality of the home cooked food.Byron and Caroline are two of nicest people/owners you'd ever meet. And no where else are you going to find homemade rolls, pies,, mashed potatoes, turkeybeef roasts, etc.

Excellent food and services as usual, we love the homemade food,rolls,pies, cookies and breads. As well as the fantastic owners who know their returning customers on first name basis,like us.Best food and friends in Wrenshall- family owned and operated by fabulous family!!

Great fish, burgers, roast beef and gravy. Breakfast is great too. Caroline is a great waitress. Byron, great chef. Inexpensive too.

Had the Wednesday night walleye dinner special, with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy to die for, green beans and fresh baked dinner role

To top off this fantastic meal, they had multiple home made pies to chose from - crusts like grandma made, apple crunch and coconut pies that melted in your mouth!

The owner is s page out of Hometown America, who bought the building before it was finished, 25 years ago! He was only 25 at the time. A local bank believed in his business plan and gave him the loan to start it, and we are all glad they did!

It's one of the best local spots I've eaten at, and I've spent 35 years traveling the world and am a snobby foodie. The Brickyard is a must if you are hiking at Banning, or just looking for that special local spot on the way to Duluth!

Be sure to leave me a piece of any of the pies - just awesome!

Prices are fair and the food is great!! The servers are so nice as well. It's home cooking away from home. I will be heading there more often.

Great restaurant! Good food, great staff, and reasonable prices. Just remember some cash or a check because they don't accept credit cards.

Best burger I've had in a long time! Hand-pattied and great beefy flavor. And the price can't be beat!

From the first time to the most recent visit there,Byron and Miss Caroline make me feel welcomed, loved and cared about, feels like home to me.

If you are looking for a Mom and Pop restaurant, that serves home made... THIS IS YOUR PLACE! Most things appear to be made from scratch, including the home made pie!!!
