Excellent staff and been here a long while and I’m so happy to be a second generation customer and will continue to advertise and support locally for great owner/customer relationships at the very least, as well as, local community, buy locally first if possible, and remember everyone needs to be in the know. Public awareness in the world around us is important to be able to help or act when needed. Just saying. On top of that this place has imagination in books which are called fiction and just the facts ma’am, nonfiction too. Lol

Great and extensive collection of paperbacks. Love that Dean has noted in the back of the book what number it is in a series. Best of all - when I find a book she doesn’t carry, it’s easy to order and I get a call when it’s arrived. Best service and always good conversations.

A wonderful experience on a day trip to Kalamazoo! The kind of store you don't see much anymore, stocking not only new books, but plenty of magazines, zines and scholarly journals you won't find anywhere else, plus some graphic novels and a great selection of candy/gum that really brought me back to my childhood. I came away with mags for myself, my girlfriend and friends, as well as a book I've long wanted at a reasonable price. Happy to support a local business with a strong presence and identity! Staff were friendly as well!

A downtown gem since 1947, 2d generation family owned/managed newsstand & bookstore. Extensive international magazine selections, including: design, travel & regional living, fashion, cooking, wine & liquor, health, motorcycles & sport. Strong selection of children's books, including Spanish language. The only local site purchase the New York Times. Absolutely adore!

In this day and age of the sterility of words and images locked behind a backlit, high resolution touchscreen, the first thing I noticed when I stepped in the doors of this traditional seller of newspapers, magazines, and books was the smell-the wonderful smell of paper, like the libraries of my 1970's childhood. Excellent and varied selection of magazines, paperback books both new and used. I was pleasantly surprised to see racks of comic books and graphic novels, some that I had not seen since the mid-1980's. Very friendly and helpful staff. While I love the advanced technology we have today that makes our lives smoother and easier, nothing will replace the smell and feel of holding a printed book or magazine in my hand. Great place.

I enjoy stopping by to peruse the many magazines and books on offer. If they don't have it on the shelf, they can order it Plus the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to others.

Family own business that has stood the test of time. Looking for something you can't find elsewhere? Ask the staff for help and they will find it and order it for you. I dread the day Kalamazoo losses this gem.

The owner is amazing, and this really is one of the best places in Kalamazoo. They have scads of magazines, journals, books, manga, and newspapers (local and national). I prefer to buy all my magazines there.

Best place to shop for periodicals. All kinds of off beat rags and local writing. Friendly staff and they support the Detroit Tigers. Beats the heck out of the big box, chain book stores that all look the same no matter what town that you're in. This is a Kalamazoo icon. Help support this great local business.

If you read a lot please help the store or not out and buy your bookshelf she is willing to order the books if you don't see the books available she says that she is struggling a little bit it's just it's not a lot of people walk through the stores anymore cuz they do everything online

Derek Jeter is not the only shortstop from Kalamazoo. Great small business with a fun selection of readables plus at least 3 regulars coming in for the morning's paper during our visit. Love that kind of old school community feel and can't wait to return.

I love the nostalgia. The clerk is so sweet and helpful, and they have everything you could want. Books, magazines, magnets, candy, etc.

Outstanding local news stand where you can get the Sunday newspaper from Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Detroit, AND New York. Fantastic selection of magazines and extremely friendly service. If you have not visited yet, please go. (And bring cash!)

Very friendly staff. They have new titles, but take a little digging to find. A vintage place that deserves good local business. Take your time here
