Trailway Campground

This campground is located in a great area right downtown Montague. It is next to the lake, a bike trail, river with fishing and The best part is the local restaurants, shops, and breweries as well.
The campsite aren’t the biggest but good luck getting a reservation. They rarely have opening. So book early this is a hidden gem!!

Owners were fantastic and friendly. Spaces were good. I stayed on electric and water only for a very reasonable price. Bathrooms clean and showers are clean and hot. Grocery next door is convenient.

The city of Montague runs this little campground which is within walking distance to both Montague and Whitehall. Many sites are pull through and most are full hook up. We found the people of Montague to be extremely friendly and proud of their small town. From the woman at Lipka’s soda fountain who took our picture and suggested places for us to visit, the nice lady at the Chamber of Commerce who went out in the rain to open the Caboose Museum for us, to the many people who stopped to meet our puppy, and the kind man who told us more about Clear Springs Nature Preserve. To top it off, we enjoyed Montague’s Pumpkinfest which included wholesome fun like pumpkinseed spitting contest, dog costume contest, and a pumpkin roll down a big hill.

Wonderful little campground! The grounds were immaculate and other campers were consistently warm and inviting. The adjacent bike trail is beautiful and goes for miles, plus they have some fun coffee shops and breweries within walking distance. We typically stay in state parks but loved this little gem! Nice job management team!

A hidden gem. The park is well kept and the management was great. Our site was shady and the weather was perfect for mid-August. We saw the best vintage car and truck parade ever while sitting directly in front of our campground. We walked to the grocery store (about 50 feet) and ice cream place (75 feet) from our site. We stayed for a week in our 38 ft. Motorhome. We are looking forward to returning to Michigan and this campground.

Really nice little city-run campground tucked away between the main road and the bike trail. A bit close to neighbors, and like all campgrounds the wifi may as well not exit, but still pretty and quiet.

The campground has new managers this season, and they are very nice and super efficient. The campground is a small one, about 70 campsites. All have new paved cement patios and the roads are newly paved - so no dust. They have cable, wifi and full hook-ups. (Like many campgrounds the wifi is often slow.) There is no pool, nor clubhouse. Bathrooms are clean and decent. It is right adjacent a very nice bike path, and ice cream shack, and grocery store. White Lake is across the street. Both tiny Montague and Whitehall are walkable distances. Once there, one really never has to get in their car again. Everything is available via walking or biking. There are no safer communities than Montague and Whitehall. A 'Back to Mayberry' feel. The campground does not generally attract loud families and party people, and so is a quiet one.

This was a nice clean rv park right in the middle of town. I was surprised at how quiet it was, no road noise at all in the back section of the park. We had good reception on the wifi. There is a grocery store next door and a bike path goes right along the park. The managers were very friendly and gave out brochures on what to see and do in the area. They do have cable tv but require a deposit for the box. They had a nice long level site for our big rig. Full hookups at a reasonable price - I can't ask for anything more than that!

Wonderful campground, near the Hart Montague bike trail. Walking distance to town. Great location and the people are extremely nice.

Nice people! Right next to the bike trail and ice cream shop you can't go wrong! Ride your bike on the trail so you don't feel guilty having an ice cream cone afterward. The only downer ‐ no fire pits

Super campground close to everything! Wonderful, caring staff, decent sized sites. Walking distance to groceries, restaurants, bars, ice cream shop, fishing and access to bike trails. Will definitely be back!

We stayed three times this year - one extended stay due to a medical situation. Rich and JoAnne were always very accommodating and gracious. The facilities are always clean and neat.

This campground was a treasure find. The managers were friendly & efficient. Clean showers, grocery store next door, bike/walk trails, a few restaurants nearby, easy access to the dunes and even a Wal-Mart.

Beautiful clean campground right in the middle of town. They had availability the same day.
