Rustic Hog Barbecue & Grill

A great new find for our trips through Lake City. Either eating on the patio with a view of the lake or inside, the pulled pork is fantastic. A variety of sauces to choose from. Just tried their BBQ pizza that was recently added to the menu, it is delicious!

We stopped in for lunch today and ordered the ribs, which they only have on Saturday. They were a full slab pile of meaty, tender, just smokey enough goodness! Our waitress was very attentive and the proprieter came out and asked how everything was. We got french fries and mushrooms as sides and ordered some coleslaw. We liked them all!

Second visit, second review. Started with loaded fries. Wow! So delicious, with magical sauce. Followed with brisket burrito and BLT. Well worth the trip.

If you find yourself on a random road trip or are looking for something specific, I suggest you hit the road in search of a little town called Lake City, MI. My daughters and I were "in search of" that wasn't going as well as planned when they decided it was time to find somewhere to eat. Being unfamiliar with the area, I typed in "restaurants near me" in the Google search bar and was given options. As we drove into town, my daughter noticed a little tiny corner business called Rustic Hog Barbecue. We all agreed that this was our lunch spot. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly waitress (Jennifer, we loved you!) We struggled over decisions and she was so helpful in making choices. It didn't take long and plates and dishes of food were brought to our table. Servings were more than adequate and looked so appealing. As we tried dish after dish, we found that there wasn't one tasty morsel we didn't love. From the burgers the girls chose to the meat sampler platter I chose, to the homemade baked beans and mac and cheese, to the poutine and onion rings, the BBQ sauce and the dipping sauces all had our tastebuds dancing. But then our waitress put our already full tummys to the test with a desert suggestion. If you go there during the season and someone suggests trying the pumpkin cheesecake, TRY IT! You will not be disappointed, it melts in your mouth. I can't wait to make another road trip in that direction, as I will definitely be stopping by the Rustic Hog Barbecue again!

Stopped in for dinner on a road trip. Seating inside and outside. You can see the lake from outside seating. We had the brisket tacos and loaded spud. Both were delicious. Never seen a potato that large! Service was fast and friendly. There is only street parking but no issue finding a spot to park when we went.

Head on over to this charming town of Lake City, and try some authentic BBQ! 🔥 You can see the large smoker yourself in the patio. All of the meals give generous portions of delicious smoked meat.. you can taste the time and effort put into every bite. The homemade sauces and queso are AMAZING too! Our favorite dishes are the Pit Master burger, Dirty Fries, Hog Tater, Mac and cheese, brisket and oh the smoked Turkey is something you have to try- I guarantee you haven’t had Turkey like this! Lastly, the service is wonderful. All of the waitstaff is friendly and helpful. Exceptional in every way! 🌟

Warming friendly, kinda fast-paced, family oriented like. Love it the fact that kids are warmed up to the place like grandmas.. indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice n clean. Owner is great chilled laid back ... u can tell he takes passion in his creation.

Meat was tender and moist. Sauces where awesome but were not needed bbq was good on its own. Pricing was very reasonable. Portions where huge. Everything is made from scratch. Owner is out and talking with customers which shows how much he care and how much pride he takes in his food and customer satisfaction. Will be making many trips back just for the food!

I have never been disappointed in any of the food I have had here. The staff is great and always has good recommendations. The owner is top notch and tries to make it a point to come to chat with everyone and ensure they are enjoying their food. Hog tater is my favorite and large enough to share if your feeling generous. Thankful for a dining experience like this in Lake City!

Absolutely the best BBQ we have had. The staff are amazing and super friendly. Our first time there and we asked the waitress for a recommendation. She was spot on. Everything was fantastic! Tender pulled pork, moist and tender turkey, sausages were unbelievable, and my favorite the brisket was perfect. The huge Hog Tater is a meal in itself. Great welcoming atmosphere and very clean with a great decor. If you are ever in the area stop in for a great meal. Thanks

This place is amazing! Friendly staff, huge portions, every time we've been there, everything we've tried has been amazing! New items on the menu are different pizzas, so we tried one tonight, the BBQ Lovers Pizza and it was incredible. We will be back!

Food was phenomenal. Service was superb. Place is so clean, they were even cleaning the base of the tables while we were there as it was close to closing time.

I've gotten both the hog tater and the rustic club now, and highly recommend this restaurant. My group also got the sausage and one of the loaded burgers, and we are all looking forward to returning. Highly courteous, friendly staff. I have gluten free friends and family, and I reached out and they do not have gluten in their rubs or sauces, so we now have another option when dining with them. Thank you for great food and staff!

Everything about this place is beyond excellent. It has become our favorite place to eat. We drive over 2 hours just to come here. Sam you are amazing at what you do. Not only is the food delicious but the staff and owner are personable and just great people. Love your brisket tacos, best in the world.

Legit Southern BBQ joint! 💯 Pulled pork really good! Mac n cheese n coleslaw yummy. Them sauces though!

Best food in Lake City. We make sure to come every year on vacation. Brisket is outstanding and everything else spectacular as well. Servings are huge. Watch for the special hours and make sure to get here. You won’t pass it up again! The pit master sandwich is my favorite and husband loves the Rustic meat sampler!

Loved the food!! It was a surprise how great the place is. The food is delicious.and it's definitely shown in the prices. But the food is well worth what you pay .

I have eaten here a few times with friends owner is awsome takes the time to talk to his customers food is great was please every time i eat here. Will go back again.
