Came here with my friend for the first time and had a good time. Some of the best Italian food I've ever had!

We had the fried calamari for our appetizer and it was extremely fresh and crispy. My main course was the seafood black linguini and I was in heaven. Everything I had was fresh and tasted great. The service was good too. It was quiet for a Thursday evening but usually this place is packed from seeing it while walking by before.

Gallo Nero is definitely such a hidden gem in Hudson county. The food was delicious and the service was great! I can’t wait to come here again. If you are looking for delicious Italian food, this is your place!

Wow. Having just moved to the area from Queens, NY, we were absolutely blown away by the level of food served at this place. The fettuccine and rigatoni was made fresh in house, the rigatoni was a carbonara that was light, refreshing and perfectly cooked - they do not use any cream in their carbonara - just egg and cheese very traditional and delicious (and most importantly - light!). The veal chop was immaculately cooked to medium perfection and tasted amazing. My wife had the fettuccine bolognese which was, as aforesaid, cooked fresh and homemade and was perfectly cooked. The antipasto was equally good - buffalo mozzarella caprese salad and affettato misto was fresh, they brought seconds of prosciutto for my 2 yr old daughter as well! I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner Omero and the Chef, they've definitely got a gem brewing here and we will be back again to try more of the menu!

Amazing atmosphere, owner is so nice and the food is amazing. Love that it’s byob and the pasta fagoili is delicious. Owner brought a tiramisu to the table and it was amazing as well.

Had superbly cooked food. The rice was so fluffy and juicy at the same time. Highly recommend. Also the staff is super kind and helpful. Top notch! Cant wait to come back. Samuel one of the chefs came out to make sure I was having a good meal even!! we turned out to have the same name so obvs had to take a picture.

Absolutely no words to describe our dining experience here tonight! Food, presentation, ambiance and service was “top notch”! This is by far one of the better restaurants we have tried lately. The price point is very accurate with the quality you receive. We definitely over ordered, but we are glad we did so we could try a lot. I would give them more than 5 stars if possible! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The owners and staff were so hospitable that it seems we were at my families house for dinner. The atmosphere, decor, ambiance, everything was amazing! Food super yummy and authentically Italian! Went there with my family to celebrate a birthday and left so impressed, I will definitely be returning and recommending this hidden gem of a place to all my friends and family!

The food and service were excellent. The pasta with eggplant was the best thing and also the desserts. The crème brûlée was very good. The atmosphere is peaceful and the decoration lovely. The servers were very attentive the whole time

This place is a gem. The atmosphere is great. The staff was very attentive. Truly made to feel at home. Can't say enough about the food. It was absolutely delicious. The two plates pictured are the Pollo Scarpariella and Penne Vodka w/ Grilled Chicken. We loved them both. Can't wait to return.

My daughter and I are always on the hunt for honest to goodness Italian food and let me say Gallo Nero was exceptional! The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. Next time we are in the area, we will dine here every time!

Daughter invited us here for moms birthday. Loved everything. The service was amazing, very attentive, patient to explain dishes. The food was amazing. Reasonable prices. Dessert were awesome.

Had the most beautiful meal last night…never had so much seafood in a seafood linguine before and was so tasty! Perfect service from the owner who spent ages chatting to us even after the restaurant had cleared….lovely gentleman. Nice decor and atmosphere in restaurant as well. Would highly recommend a visit here.

I had a party of 18 people last minute on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us with pleasure. The servers were attentive and treated us with great care. Also, it is very apparent that this place serves everything fresh—they had some of the best seafood I’ve had in a while. A family favorite of ours was the burrata, calamari, and salmon. Def get seafood if you’re here! Lastly, the restaurant is decorated beautifully, ambiance is immaculate.

Amazing atmosphere, beautiful decor, and very clean and comfortable setting. The host and waiter were attentive and kind and were patient with all our of questions. The food was delicious, like wow!!! Even their bread and olive oil dip was amazing. We had the fried calamari, penne vodka, grilled chicken, crème brûlée cheesecake (what a combo!). We also had a glass of Chianti and Prosecco ☺. It was our first time at Gallo Nero and honestly enjoyed every minute there and every bite!

Nice Italian restaurant. The owner was here working and it’s a family owned chain for over 20 years.

They bring warm bread and oil with seasonings. Very nice touch. Appreciate that it’s warm bread, lol.

I got the fettuccine, and oof it was a bit heavy. I’m also generally not a fan of shrimp, but the owner recommended it for me so I gave it a try. WOW I dunno how this shrimp was cooked and seasoned but I really enjoyed it. I hadn’t enjoyed shrimp like this before.

The noodles were good, too! But it just ended up being too much food for me. Would be nice if there were smaller portions since I hate wasting food.

Hey, I might have been full from dinner, but I always have room for dessert. He didn’t seem to have a dessert menu, which is rough for me because I need to look at things, so I went with the caramel custard. It was flan, lol. The presentation was super cute, though and the strawberries were a nice offset to the sugar.

I also had a pretty nice long chat with the owner and he was cool and friendly. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll try the other desserts and bring a friend along.

Apparently there are other locations, one in NYC and another in Jersey somewhere.

This is my first time here and my experience here was absolutely delightful. We arrived a little later because we had just gotten back from NYC. We came about an hour before closing and we never felt rushed to hurry up and finish our meal. Both the employees that served us were absolutely kind and wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Pan Seared Filet Mignon, and it was amazing. The steak was great! We enjoyed our night immensely. We had the strawberry cheesecake for a dessert , and it was splendid.

The best Italian restaurant in Hudson County. Food is so tasty and fresh, quality ingredients. Best service ever...

5 stars for this amazing establishment. The service was superb and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious and the whole environment of the restaurant felt like being at home. It was my first time here and definitely will not be my last!

My boyfriend and I shared the Caesar salad, very good
I got the carbonara (omfg… TO DIE FOR)
and my boyfriend got the pork chops which came in the most flavorful sauce and crispy, well seasoned potatoes (so delicious)
We shared the tiramisu to end our lovely night and we already can’t wait to go back!
I wish we got the servers name that helped us since they were so kind and accommodating but since we will be back, I’ll get their names next time!

The food and service were phenomenal! Super tasty. The sangria was amazing. Super friendly staff. Recommend to all!

The restaurant itself is very beautiful, clean, and cute.The food was delicious, fancy, and authentic. The service by Lou and Miguel Angel was simply incredible and went beyond my expectations. I certainly couldn't have asked for a better place to have my dinner with family.
