The Colonial Restaurant

We tried this diner for the first time and were very happy with our experience. Is not fancy place but is a classic NJ diner. The place was clean and good atmosphere. The food was really good. We enjoyed the Golden Brown Pancakes, The Gravy and Biscuits and Farmer’s omelette. Great service and good prices. A lot of people come here which is a good side that this a a great business. They accept card which is great, because some places are cash only. Parking is easy you can either park on the big parking lot around the corner or on the street.

A little tight in there but the food is so delicious ! The smell of the breakfast is so luring once you get in there ! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back .

Down to earth, great food, nothing fancy, great service ( Cynthia ) constantly offering you more coffee.
The place is small, not more than 9 tables, booth style.
Stake and eggs, silver dollar pancakes, omelet, side of bacon, and the coffee are very good

Great diner. Awesome food whether you want breakfast lunch or dinner. Colonial is not a super big place, so if it's crowded, you're going to wait till a table becomes available. Portions of food are generous so bring that appetite with you. The staff friendly and very attentive. Swing thru for a bite.

I was driving home to Maryland from Long Island and stopped here to grab a bite. It's a small but quaint diner that serves breakfast and lunch items. I believe their sign said that they are now open until 3. The staff was super friendly. I struggled to pick what I wanted because there were so many really good choices. For breakfast, they had eggs prepared in a variety of ways. I did happen to glance at the salads, too. I think there were about 9. A few I would've enjoyed but I had breakfast on the brain so I ordered 2 scrambled eggs with home fries, Taylor ham (Yum!), and toast with a glass of chocolate milk. My boyfriend ordered a similar meal with bacon and a glass of tea. The oval plates were packed with food. We both enjoyed our meals which came to a little over $25. If I were local I'd definitely go back.

BELIEVE THE HYPE, PEOPLE. This place is the real deal. Listen, I eat at a LOT of diners. Almost without exception, it’s a good experience. The place isn’t just good, or even great, it’s FANTASTIC. Literally the most genuinely nice staff, fabulous breakfast, decent prices, terrific value for the money. This place is a must-stop if you’re in the area. Recommend 11/10!

This spot has been a breakfast and lunch destination for decades. That longevity should tell you everything you need to know about why this should be your next choice for excellent service and memorable food. Today was eggs benedict that was not only flavorful but a huge portion that would leave no room for desert. You can sense that this restaurant is full of regulars who have continued to enjoy dining here for as long as it's been around. See for yourself and make a pitstop when in the area.

PS returned for lunch and the Jersey Burger with heavenly pork roll on top was incredible.

The food here is always delicious and the atmosphere is very nostalgic of an old school brunch diner, which we love! They’re usually busy but the service is very quick and efficient so we don’t have to wait long for a table. Highly recommend this place!

Nice quaint little dinner with peculiar hrs. It felt a little bit like cheers where everybody knows everyone. Highly recommend! If you are not looking you might miss it!

My Boyfriend and I, have been coming here almost religiously every weekend. The food is great, and the staff is absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. Never ever do we feel that we need to hurry up, eat and leave. 10 out 10 plus.

Our first visit & we loved it! Everything (food, staff, service, prices, cleanliness, & location) was excellent! We were fortunate to find a parking space on the street but that could be a problem. We will be back again soon!

Not many of these little hidden places around anymore, food is excellent .fresh and hot.
