Prime House Restaurant and Bar

The restaurant is perfect. The outdoor dining is very nice, staff are all polite and the food is amazing. We love the dumplings and had the ribs for the first time. They melted off the bone and the flavor was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant. A little hidden gem.

We had an incredible time at the Prime House Restaurant and Bar on Valentines Day evening with a packed house, incredible food, wait staff that was perfect and the new owner who was gracious and inviting!! A kind heart, undeniable style, and hard work shows throughout the entire building. You need to go and try out this new restaurant. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED !!

I have lived in this area for a long time, this is by far the best restaurant and staff I have come across. The owners, chef and servers are very attentive to the needs of their guest. I recommend this great steak house, a must try.

Best burger ever!

I'm a lifelong resident in the area and have seen many restaurants come and go in this location from Harrald's on out. It's in a tough location as far as prospective proprietors go, really not much of anything for miles in either direction. Still, it's a unique property and evokes a charm not found in restaurants these days. It's a destination in and of itself. When I heard they had reopened recently as Prime House, we decided to give it a go with our best friends on a double date night. The reservation process was fairly simple, and our table was indeed ready when we arrived. The decor is still much as it was originally - very cozy and rustic, but not modern farmhouse rustic, think 80s stuffy rustic. The lighting was extremely dim, which I don't necessarily mind, but the candles on the table were never lit (which would have helped with ambience and just plain being able to see.) There were two cocktail specials, our party tried both - they were handsomely priced, but tasty and generously served. When it comes to the menu, I was underwhelmed. I'd always like to see a modest menu done right than a menu that reads like a novel and the food poorly or inconsistently executed. To say this menu was modest doesn't touch on its limited nature. I thought I was missing a page, that's how few offerings there are. As a vegetarian I'm used to having few options dining out, and I don't have a problem with that. I'm a lacto-ovo-pescatarian, so I will eat eggs, dairy, and some fish - and I'm glad for that as there were no true vegetarian (let alone vegan) options. I get it, vegetarians aren't the target demographic of a steakhouse - however, there really needs to be at least an option or two, even if just a pasta dish. I ended up with the crab cakes. They were okay, not dense or crab filled at all, presented more like crab mousse molded into cake shape. Small amount of veg on the plate to accompany. The two steaks that were ordered were just steak on a plate. There were sides listed on the menu, but there was no indication that they needed to be added to your entree, they seemed like options for an extra side. $24 for a steak on a plate is a bit much. No side salad to start, no cup of soup, no nothing. One of the steaks ordered was perfectly cooked, the other needed to be re-fired to be cooked as ordered. The seafood pasta was lackluster and in a red sauce as opposed to a typical white sauce with garlic/lemon/herbs. Service was okay, although waters were only refilled toward the end of our visit. At the end of the meal nothing was impressive enough to keep us for dessert or even coffee, and the room was starting to get quite smoky, presumably from a fireplace in an adjoining room. All in all we were really excited to try it here and hoping for the best. Reality is that it missed on nearly every level and we likely won't be back.
