River Queen Tavern

BBQ Saturday was great. Service was great too. The view of the river was nice addition to the meal. Glad we stopped by and tried them. If ever in Malta Ohio again, can see stopping in for more.

We invaded the place for lunch with about 100 bikers as part of a week long rally (July 2018). Our buffet was ready on time. Burgers, grilled chicken, and sides were great. Service was outstanding with staff buzzing around to keep glasses full and tending to everyone's needs. Nice water view from the rear deck.

Amazing food and drinks! This is why small businesses beat corporate business all day long! Great community people in here are loving and high spirited. Not to mention the lady employees are all damn good looking!

We LOVE this place! Parking is a little snug but the view of the river is fabulous because there are several booths along the wall of windows plus a balcony overlooking the water with benches and tables to sit at and eat.
This restaurant has obviously done a lot of upgrades because there are brand new nice canopies over the balcony seating area. I have to mention that there is a close and excellent view of the old metal bridge that we traveled over to get to the restaurant across the river. And the architecture is ornate and freshly painted. So, even more to look at besides the river and the boats going up and down it!

The old paddle wheel ferry boat that used to be situated in the water right next to the restaurant was removed when ownership changed. There is a disability access door with concrete ramp on the side of the restaurant where you park. There is plenty of seating inside too with a very large bar area situated near center.

Everything was clean, including the restrooms and deck. And I can't forget to mention how EXCELLENT the service was. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly, always busy but glancing at your table as they go by to see if anything is needed. And they come back during your meal and ask if everything is ok.

We ordered the breaded cod and the fantail shrimp. The cod, IMO, was just 'fair'; your typical white fish which they bread their selves but to me, not too much flavor. I have had better. However, the fried fantail shrimp are HUGE! and quite delicious :^)

I've eaten seafood at hundreds of restaurants along the ocean as well as not, and I have to admit, these shrimp were the largest that I've ever seen and very flavorful. The cocktail sauce was also good. Baked potatoes are DELICIOUS also. Salad that comes with dinner is plentiful but nothing new except the farm fresh sliced cukes on top.
We were there on wing night (Wed). They have 5 flavors which we had 6 Teriyaki and 6 sweet chili and they were mixed drums and wings of good size, fresh and very good!
Prices here are more than reasonable no matter what you choose from the menu. We'll be returning many more times in the future. Great establishment!

First time I have been under new ownership. I like the limited menu because every item is their specialty. It is now my favorite place to eat when I'm in town and have a drink to boot.

Great food nice people. For a small town get down,I really liked this place. My friend and I are outta towners. And it made is feel welcome

Very friendly atmosphere, with a polite staff. Great food, cold drinks that never seem to be empty. The view of the river is a nice touch.

Bar with great food and alot of history. Sternwheeler boat parked outside a balcony that overlooks the Muskingum River and the food can be on the expensive side, but well worth it.
