This is a classic neighborhood joint. They have weekly/weekend menus that change every week, with great stuff like soft-shelled crab and fried mussels.

I hear their bar is exceptionally good and based on the drinks I tried I would attest to this! The vodka gimlet was delicious.

Fried button mushrooms were delicious.

GET THE SHRIMP SCAMPI OVER RICE! Arguable the greatest I’ve had anywhere. They are MORE than generous with the butter, and the grilled shrimp is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Its heavy, but I couldn’t get enough!

The only downsides are the vegetables and the cream of broccoli soup. Every dish comes with either green beans or broccoli, and they literally come steamed, no salt, lemon, olive oil, nothing. No wonder some people don’t eat their veggies, if they’re served like this! You gotta dress up the veggies a little bit! They were also wayyyy over cooked. The vegetable mix/appetizer that comes in the beginning was also quite unappetizing, and weirdly sweet.

The cream of broccoli soup was overall good but had too many hard broccoli stems that I kept having to pick out.

I will definitely be back to get their Shrimp Scampi over Rice again. Also want to try the soft shell crab! Def a classic Hudson spot where the locals go!!

Last minute stop.in our trip. Was getting late and was afraid things would all be closing. Past it, all lit up and packed with cars, so we turned around and popped in. Apparently they are known for their steaks. Wow! Place packed...food was definitely hearty! Got a grilled shrimp salad, which was so much I couldn't finish. The shrimp were delicious, not over cooked or dried out and seasoned nicely. Also got a small cube steak, didn't want anything too big so late , was surprised how good it was. Will try a bigger steak next go around. Watched how many were coming out of the kitchen. Definitely a hit there.

Love the interior. Childhood memories came rushing back. Don't think it's its been changed since the 60s. Love it. Another thing was the food. Wife and I was happy with today's special. Wife had roast pork, and I flank steak.

Nice pub, good portions (seriously my spaghetti dish was massive), fair prices and excellent choice of beers. Apparently a regular was celebrating something and they made a big cake for the celebration. Owner asked me (a non-attend to the party) if I wanted one of the extra pieces of cake. Was very good.

Food was great. Had a family get together in the back room and the waitress was great. Got all the food and drinks correct. Had a very organized way of handling all the guests.

My daughter and I took a little ride exploring, and we had this place on our radar to stop and eat. The food was great from the appetizers right through to dessert. The prices are great, and the 30s atmosphere works. It was a cozy place to break bread and relax.

Couldn’t love this place anymore. After skiing, when you feel like not cooking, to celebrate a loved one; it never disappoints. Kozels is a family establishment that we are lucky to have in this community. Thank you Helen and family!

Throw back to the old supper clubs. The prime rib is great. Service has always been good. It reminds me of places we used to visit years ago. Very nostalgic.

This was a nice place. They did not have sweet tea but I will not hold that against them. It was a wonderful stuff on our way to the next venue during our US tour (Voraath).

Large menu, reasonably priced, 2 doz steamed clams for $20 Is a great deal. Delmonico Steak sandwich with sides for $19. Bar is cozy and obviously a favorite of local people. Owners on premises with a friendly but professional, experienced staff. But probably missing out by not updating the interior and getting a few more TVs for the bar crowd.

Old school restaurants. I was a little hesitant when I first walked in. Aftwr we sat we got a gean salad along with the bread basket. IT was Amazing. Each course following was just as awesome. Can't wait for another opportunity to stop in.

I love this place. It’s totally old school (in the best way) many of the waitresses (not servers) have been there 30+ years and have seen it all. They’re funny and great. Note to owners: I know lobster is expensive now. But it’s just not the same if surf and turf isn’t on the menu. I’m willing to pay the price.

Love this place. The bean salad appetizer is very tasty. Had steak myself while my husband had chicken parm. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were great. Also ordered clams on the half shell. Great service, very attentive, and good food in a nice atmosphere. No complaints!! 5 stars.

This restaurant has been a staple in Columbia County for decades and I'm so happy they're still here. The food is comforting and consistent, and you can't beat Gus's prime rib! Anyone passing through the area or staying for a while should stop by to see for yourself why this restaurant is Columbia County royalty!

My family has been going to Kozel's Restaurant for at least 70 years.
I hadn't been there since my mom's funeral seven years ago, but I felt like going in today, especially because I decided to splurge on a steak. The building has two dining rooms, a large bar, and two banquet rooms. However, each part feels separate and unique.
The food and the service seemed to be better than ever. It's located just a few miles north of Hudson, on the main route up to Albany.
